Is the Flo Rida version of Higher being counted as a new entry? And has Chris Isaak left the top 40?

Nope, it'll be officially classified as a climber and its chart run continued.

I never expected her to do as well as she has with either albums. Pop acts are normally more singles acts then album acts anyway.

Really? I dont think so, i think for cheryl though its the singles which explode on the charts rather then the album, even though, how much has 3 words sold in total, quite a lot if i remember the last sales figures i have seen.

Just short of 900,000. I'm not exactly a fan but there's no belittling her success, especially as the albums market these days isn't exactly healthy. As someone said, only 3 or 4 acts so far this year have had higher one week album sales...

Well duh, of course she would... she has a much higher profile and Nadine's had no exposure and everything going against her. It's hardly rocket science.

dont think the daily mail understands the intricacies of the charts and will have just saw the 117 cds in one day and went with the story for the shock value!!

Thursday Update Top 40 Only

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Albums

1 Cheryl Cole [70,784]

2 Bon Jovi [56,644]

I'm surprised at how well Bon Jovi are selling, gien that it isn't their first GH album.

I think Cheryl is doing amazingly well in the album charts considering she is pop.

For the record, 3 Words sold 125K on first week, with 77K on Thursday midweeks.

She should sell 105-110K this time, which is excellent since PT isn't exactly as big as FFTL.

There just behind? They have promotion today.. 2 tv shows tommorow.. xtra factor on saturday and freeshly squeezed.. weekend effect will benefit them aswell. It's gonna be a close call this week.. less than 200copies.. if it's more than 500 by tommorow it will be over but Stay will drop out of top 10 it looks like.

I can't see Sats any higher than 11 or 12, Stay will get another boost tomorrow with the X Factor repeat and physicals don't do jack $h!t.

Well other X Factor related acts such as Leona Lewis, JLS, Alexandra Burke (i think she did) have all had bigger album sales 1st week.

The 3 other acts this year obviously would have won, Robbie, Kings of Leon & Eminem. So they are all 'bigger' competition.

And it may be the 4th highest now but with all the huge albums coming out in the upcoming weeks it could drop to low top 10 or out of top 10 altogether by end of year.

Just thought the huge star Cheryl is, and the huge sales she gets for first week single sales (so far with FFTL and PT) i just thought her album sales would be a little higher, again they are still high so shes doing brilliantly! B)

You make it sound like that's a bad thing. 3 words was still shifting 85,000 units at #13 last year I believe.

edit: just checked, it sold 85,059 units at #14 the week before christmas

So despite it not having huge first week sales, it was still selling huge amounts 2 months later

Can some of you chill the f*** down & read my posts please? In no way have i belittled her success, are you able to read what i have said? I am a fan of hers, the smallest comment in the world has turned in to a huge unnecessary debate, I EXPECTED BIGGER FIRST WEEK SALES. That is it, thats all. Okay? wow. You try and have a discussion on here with people who have the ability to talk and not argue, and then everyone just starts blah-ring on about rubbish and making silly little comments, only so much you can take with loads of little silly comments being written about the smallest comment i make.

You said Cheryl would be #2 if she had any major competition which is clearly not true... only 3 albums will have sold more in one week than MLR this year.
As far as I can see, noone is argueing with you, just having a discussion/debate regarding a comment that you made.

Well then could you stop saying that it looks like they aren't going to be top 10 then?

Not you dannyboy, we were simply just discussing and then a few people start making comments about 'you make it sound like a bad thing', 'belittle her success' when i have clearly not done that at all, and have said more then once, i am a fan, she is doing brilliantly, the smallest comment of i just expected her to be selling more due to how big she is & compared to other artists. Just doesnt make sense to me, people jump on ready to criticise so quickly here it just gets really irritating.

Bray up against the competition i listed on a previous page she would have been #2, so it is clearly a possiblity and not 'untrue'.

Could you link me to this? I can't be arsed to trek through 8 pages

Neither can I, its on the page before this i think?

Basically Eminem, Kings of Leon & Robbie then are the only artists so they are 'bigger' competition.

Also other x factor related acts like Leona, Jls, Burke all have had bigger first week sales..I would have thought Cheryl Cole would be up there with all these guys when it comes to big first week selling albums. (even though cheryl is going to have big first week sales yes i just expected bit bigger)

cant we all agree that Cheryl's sales are pretty good and leave it at that?

 Great idea...never going to happen
