So I guess its a no for Churribinga? :(

You'll be able to sign up in January :P Just be patient

Well back in April/May, several countries were allowed entry that were members for less than 6 months (and in fact one that was only 2 months), and it's nowhere in the official rules or in the new countries thread. Klumzee has clocked up a good number of posts, and has been around almost as long as Ghosty had been when he was not only allowed to enter, but very much encouraged to do so.

That rules thread has never had any anti-alias measures in it. It badly needs an update tbh.

6 months seems very long...

I'd actually have to applaud anyone who'd have the patience to create an alias and post with it for that long pretending to be the real deal.

That's the point :P

That the reason we have it, it acts as a deterrent

Six months is very long, and I appreciate why it is there, but come on, Klumzee has made over 600 posts, which may not seem much to the top dogs with 5 figure amounts, but it's still a healthy number, and you can't just sneeze out 600 posts, especially if you were an alias. All I'm saying is that little exceptions have been made in the past, whether they've been clumsy oversights or so that our little friends can join in and play, and I think and exception should be made this time, especially since y'all can be the big bad wolf and shoo people off with your anti-alias regulations but nobody has actually got off their backside and put it in the official rules. I'd also suggest that when it is put there, perhaps it would be more effective and fair to have it based on post count rather than time, or a combination of both. For example, anyone who has been here over 6 months OR over 3 months with more than 500 posts can enter.

Can't you just check straight away if Klumzee is an alias anyway? Can't you see their IP addresses?

Telling someone to come back in 2 months doesn't seem tyranical, it just seems very unfriendly. :(

I do think if Klumzee has been here for 4 months then obviously he wants to be here and isn't just an alias. 4 months isn't anything to be sniffed at.

Ermm thanks? I was okay with waiting til January, but if your pushing for it then yeah! :kink: I do think that it should be a combination of time and posts, not just be bias towards me but for any other member wanting to join.

I really think an alias would have been long deterred by the time four months came along......and if they can last 4 months then they can surely last another two.

I know you're probably ok with waiting until January, after all it is just an internet song contest, but other people in your shoes have been allowed in without any questions being asked, and you're clearly a good poster, so I think an exception should be made or the rule (which has never really been put into effect in the first place) should be altered. Hang in there and stick around while we fight your corner, don't make me look like an eejit :P

The rule's been put into effect loads of times! In any case, with Ghosty et al, they were very well known posters on places like ChC - i.e. clearly not aliases! :P

We may consider changing the rule given the block was also put into place to stop what was then a ridiculously overcrowded contest going past the 54 contestant mark...

Eejit?

Thanks for thinking of me :)

It's another word for an idiot or fool.

Oh okay! I thought it was a spelling mistake.

I'll make sure that Peter30 doesn't look like and eejit

I.P addresses aren't very reliable, some ISP's use the one IP address for multiple users which is why Buzzjack doesn't IP ban.

You all seem to have forgotten that BJ(U)SC =/= Democracy.

Whine and moan all you want, it's staying at 6months. [And there is a post element built into the 6months as well] I do not care what has happened in the past, this is what is happening.

Anti-Alias regulation dictates that a poster must have been registered her for longer than 6months [Ghosty was well known from Buuzjack's predecessor forum] and that is what it will stay as.

The anti-alias stuff came in when the Liam stuff kicked off, before we hit our peak. The waiting list hit that one.

You do love your important rule-making role, don't you? ;)

Indeed i do. Despite the often insane amount of backlash we get for doing, anything really, it can be quite fun.
