The Beatles are incredibly overrated.

I agree, but I partially think that's down to my parents force-feeding their songs to me for the past 18 years, and I'm completely and utterly bored of most of them now, having to hear them constantly my whole life. :(

And I agree about What's My Name. I was literally devastated that Ridin' Solo missed the top 40 that week. I didn't think it was possible to get to #19 on iTunes, but chart at #44 (I think) officially.

I do remember it going top 20, but only briefly, like in the middle of the day. I think #19 was it's peak, but that's from memory, so I could be wrong.

And looks like S&M will debut in the top 100! I think it's a strong contender for 3rd single. Last time I checked, it was heading for top 20 on German iTunes! :o

Gossip's Heavy Cross made the top 20 on iTunes and only made #47 I think.

Although it climbed for the next three weeks, going 47-42-40-37, then dropping to 69 and then out of the top 100.

It was a bit like Adam L's For Your Entertainment, which went like this up to its peak:

73-57-46-39-39-37

And then it crashed down to #90 (!) and then out of the top 100.

Gosh, those are weird. This is not as extreme, but it reminds me of I Like by Keri Hilson. It spent many weeks at the bottom of the top 40 (and I remember, in many of the mids, it had fallen out, but it kept climbing back in each week). It shows very consistent sales for a while, and then plummets once it leaves the top 40. Is there like a top 40 effect or something?

I think Game Over would do so well with the top 10 effect. I think it's got a video, but I can't imagine its got much other promotion. I can't exactly imagine it getting much airplay. But it's the sort of song, if people see it in the top 10 on iTunes, you can't not be interested!

And Don't Dream It's Over is in the top 100! Yay! I love that song so much! I think it's very old, but I stumbled across it in a youtube video a couple of years ago, and I love it now. :)

I Like was very weird, it seemed to derive a fair amount of its sales from just being played on the chart show

Its full chart run was this:

68-34-35-35-40-39-40-45-72-out

6 weeks in the top 40 with a #34 peak and then just 2 more weeks top 100.

I wonder if ITV news will chose a song to end their special on Prince William and Kate's engagement? If so - I'm sure that song would get a boost!
Oooh. Keri Hilson and Nelly at 92? Is his album released here, or is it just a random added single track?

Yeah, I Like got barely any promotion, so the chart show would've made up like 30% of its total promotion or something. . Heart FM playlisted it like a month after it was released, but I can't think of anything else. I guess it had a video too.

The first time I heard it was because one of my friends played it at school, and he said it grabbed his attention because he liked Knock You Down, and the song was doing well in Europe (i.e. I guess this means he stumbled across it on youtube ).

I think we need a Beatles iTunes thread topic :magic:

Just imagine a top 75 singles chart full of Beatles tracks

Hey Jude at #84

Twist And Shout #94

Loads more in the top 300 obviously.

Very surprised She Loves You is so low, I always thought that was one of their best known songs what with how long it spent in the top 3 :o

How is "Love The Way You Lie (Piano Version)" [bonus Track] at #53 when it's Album-only  ?
How is "Love The Way You Lie (Piano Version)" [bonus Track] at #53 when it's Album-only  ?

That's not album-only, that's the piano only version without Eminem. Part 2 featuring Eminem is the version that's album-only.

The Beatles Albums

#25 - The Beatles 1967 - 1970

#26 - Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

#30 - The Beatles 1962 - 1966

#35 - Abbey Road

#60 - The Beatles Box Set

#72 - Please Please Me

#75 - Rubber Soul

#108 - Let It Be

#113 - Help!

#141 - With The Beatles

#144 - Past Masters, Vols 1 & 2

#158 - Beatles for Sale

No, it's album-only too; (and down to #55)

I think they just made it album only, before that it was available to download separately too. It will disappear shortly from the chart.
