OK so I know there is already a topic on this vaguely, but that also has people saying '2011 will the year of Britney' (yes thanku for your words of wisdom) whereas this is much more specific.

 

So who do we think will make it?

 

I am really struggling to think. I thought Penguin Prison would be on it last year and he wasn't, but I guess he will get pushed in the new year so I will say him again. Also Egyptian hip-hop are a shoe-in I think. James Blake will most likely be somewhere on there too. Maybe Hoodie Allen too. My mind is blank after those four though...

Jessie J will hopefully be one of the names, but she's about to get a top 40 hit coming on Sunday... or does she still count? :unsure: Clare Maguire seems to be getting hype and a push too. Maybe Sparks, too? They're the only 3 I know about, that could probably make this list.

I did, and you did. This thread is about predicting the BBCs Sound of 2011, a prediction of new artists who'll be successful next year. You said Britney Spears, the reason this thread was set up was because there's already a thread relevant to that.

Uhm, well obviously I don't know any new upcoming artists, as they just usually pop up out of the blue <_< Like Ke$ha for example. So there was no reason to delete my post! >_<

I'd be delighted if Sparks had a good year in 2011 but they don't qualify for the BBC sound of 2011

Well there was as they're completely irrelevent to the thread. Rooney started this thread to avoid the discussion of Britney, Kesha, LAdy GaGa etc that was in the other thread. This was to focus on NEW artists that may be in the Sound of 2011.

Spark will be there. Just to re-iterate, it is Spark and not Sparks! She's amazing. LOVE her!

If you'd read it, it said NEW artists for 2011. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Britney Spears isn't exactly 'new'.

Er, no they don't. It's called hype, and Ke$ha was known about on these forums about nine months before she hit big with TiK ToK. Britney was deleted because she's not going to be on the Sound of 2011 poll as she's one of the biggest artists in the world!

ANYWAY, I'm predicting Florrie, Spark, Clare Maguire, possibly Japayork, and definitely Sky Ferreira...

What do you mean flopped and over? One was a buzz single that ended up getting way more R1 attention than was intended - Obsession's supposed to be the big launch single so far as I'm aware? She's got proper label backing and everything, I doubt they're going to throw away someone who's gotten so much hype.
