November 26, 201014 yr i saw spark live supporting marina and the diamonds-weird to think she could be the next big thing!
November 26, 201014 yr I'm not 100% sure of the criteria, but I would hope for the following to appear: Bright Light Bright Light Caro Emerald Clare Maguire Florrie Lauren Pritchard Scarlette Fever Spark Sunday Girl The Good Natured The Skints Wolf Gang Possible "out of nowhere" hits could come from Fallulah, Graziella Schazad, Tove Styrke & Zowie How on EARTH did I forget about The Good Natured and Wolf Gang? Fallulah and Zowie could have Stromae-style hits but I doubt they'll make the list...
November 26, 201014 yr Ooooh Ghosty is onto something, Tove would be a great inclusion, plus she's a fantastic artist.
November 26, 201014 yr How on EARTH did I forget about The Good Natured and Wolf Gang? Fallulah and Zowie could have Stromae-style hits but I doubt they'll make the list... Zowie and Fallulah I was thinking could become one hit wonders here if promoted well, same with Graziella. All three have one killer song each but I can't see them having a lasting success here. Ooooh Ghosty is onto something, Tove would be a great inclusion, plus she's a fantastic artist. Tove has massive potential, she just needs to be given a chance and be on a label that will handle her correctly. We don't want another Tone Damli fiasco :drama: . That said, there may still be time for Tone yet.
November 26, 201014 yr I hope next year is another European invasion, there's been too much US hip-hop and UK dubstep in the chart this year, although there wasn't much of the former in last year's list... As for the list, I would like to see Clare Maguire (obvs), Saint Saviour and Le Kid :kink:
November 26, 201014 yr Tove has massive potential, she just needs to be given a chance and be on a label that will handle her correctly. We don't want another Tone Damli fiasco :drama: . That said, there may still be time for Tone yet. She really does! Tone is still A-list on R2, so if her label can pull their finger out of their arse's their is a chance the project can be saved. Most likely by releasing I Love You next, then following it with Crazy Cool and releasing Cocool with Butterflies, I Know, Here I Am and Pick It Up added. Then releasing No Way Out as the project's 4th/final single. I should be her manager, i'd do a better job than the current fool.
November 26, 201014 yr There's been too much US hip-hop and UK dubstep in the chart this year, although there wasn't much of the former in last year's list... Barely! There's been the odd hit for both genres, but in terms of the former it's hardly on a par with 2004/5 - pretty much all the US 'urban' we've had has been urban artists doing electropop. I can 100% guarantee that had someone like Nicole Scherzinger or the Black Eyed Peas done DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love, OMG or Just A Dream that pretty much everyone on Buzzjack would be losing their $h!t over it - the whole antipathy on this site towards the 'urban domination' really is just antipathy towards black male artists in general (or, in a few select cases on this site I'd say, pretty much out-and-out racist and sexist pigeon-holing...), because these artists have been doing pop - there has been pretty much no hip-hop at all in the charts this year!
November 26, 201014 yr i saw spark live supporting marina and the diamonds-weird to think she could be the next big thing! Me too...we loved her! So went and saw her and got a photo with her afterwards, because we had a feeling this was going to happen!

This. There has been no 'hip-hop' in the charts this year at all really. Eminem has had a huge album, but Love The Way You Lie is not a hip-hop song. It's a pop song. Although there are a lot of hip-hop artists out there, they've not really set the charts on fire...same for dubstep. Katy B and Magnetic Man are the only real dubstep hits I can think of. Still sure 2011 is the year of dubstep though.
November 26, 201014 yr Author OH and with the big impact the likes of Tinchy Stryder, Example, Chipmunk, Professor Green, Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah have had...I wouldn't be surprised if Wretch 32 makes it onto the list, especially since i've just seen he's signed with Ministry!
November 26, 201014 yr The Naked and Famous Brothers The Wonder Villains Chapel Club Two Wounded Birds and possibly Yes Cadets as well

Wretch 32 will make it on but he's not going to get any further than, say, Devlin levels of success.
November 26, 201014 yr Besides those that have been mentioned (and yes please Caro, Tove and Zowie, but as if :drama:) (Hannah) Yadi Ed Sheeran Yasmin - although her co-credited top 20 hit with Devlin may rule her out, and she's on a dance label - notorious for getting nowhere on 'Sound of' lists Starsmith
November 26, 201014 yr Oh, is Starsmith definitely going for the solo thing then? Yep! Are you not familiar with Give Me A Break? :o Think it was just the 'hype single'; O6Fxkqwvb7k
November 26, 201014 yr I was gonna mention Wretch 32 :P But I got beaten to it Penguin Prison could make it. Sky Ferreira possibly, Definitely Clare Maguire. Unsure about any others.

This, if anything this year has seen Dance make a comeback.
November 26, 201014 yr No matter who are listed it won't make them any better..Like Delphic, Daisy Dares You and Rox. But glad someone's having fun with these kind of things.
November 26, 201014 yr Wretch 32 will make it on but he's not going to get any further than, say, Devlin levels of success. He will probably do better than Giggs I think.
