Alesha - Radio flopping puzzles me, she should have enough of a profile, considering she prsents a primetime BBC TV show. I don't think she's ever going to do better than that... Speaking of, why did she perform 3-4 weeks ago on Strictly and not this week?!
alexa is good but it's a replica of Keri Hilson imo.

Similar but she's from the UK! Always nice to see new talented stars in the making from our own country!

Everyone that likes Alexa please Download

She needs all the support she can get to insure that she becomes well known...She is an amazing performer and she lives like 20 mins away from me

She's up to #41 now Woooh

I am SO jealous of you right now! Have you ever met her before or anything?

But let's be honest, anybody who sings Turn My Swag On, I struggle not to like. :D

Shame about Alesha, its her best single since Knockdown imo

Talented?

She's just another cover artist who rips off other artists before their releases are out.

No-one should be buying her releases.

I don't think Keri Hilson's version will EVER be released (unless I'm missing something). The closest there is is Greg Street's version, which isn't what is wanted.

Plus, what if Alexa's version is better than Keri Hilson's? It's certainly better than Soulja Boy's, which is THE original.

Plus, this is hip hop we're talking about. Hip hop and RnB artists usually have no problem with letting other people cover their songs, because most of them aren't clingy and obsessed with money.

Here's a version with:

Lil' Wayne

Chamillionaire http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7RvXU4W2OM

Young Jeezy

Gucci Mane http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfpjCf1gNEs

Busta Rhymes

Lil' Kim

They're perfectly fine doing this. They appreciate music is an art, and are very willing to do their own interpretations of each other's songs, and the original artist doesn't whine about it, he welcomes it. They have no problem with sampling, covering, etc. They're part of a very united genre, and they don't have this "we did it first, so we're better than you" attitude. They don't take people to court if they sample their songs, and they don't ask for money from all the people who sample them, or cover their songs. They're not rock artists.

Yes, but the difference is, those artists are covering each others songs to give their own take on it...this Alexa girl is just covering other peoples songs to get money as people will obviously buy her version if the official one isn't released yet...as britster says, it's just a complete rip-off, she's not doing her own take on the song, she's literally COPYING the original as much as possible...

Nice response!

I actually applaud this girl for having the business brain to put a proper version of it on iTunes - certainly one way to propel her into the limelight - she's just giving the public what they want - a version of this song in the way that Cher Lloyd did it. It doesn't matter that it was 'made famous by' Keri Hilson or whatever - her version isn't available and this is the next best thing for people that want it. I don't see it as the same thing as the cheap rip off cover versions, because like you say, Keri clearly has no plans to officially release Turn My Swag On - and she's missed a bit of a trick by not doing so as it could have really raised her profile here!

Couldn't agree more :)

Movement On Itunes

Olly Murs - Thinking Of Me #3

X Factor - Heroes #4

Mcfly - Shine a Light #11

Take That - The Flood #12

Rihanna & David Guetta - Who's That Chick #16

N Dubz - Girls #24

Radiohead - Creep #25

The Wanted - Lose My Mind #26

The Saturdays - Higher #35 (Why has this dropped 12 places since sunday?)

Alexa Goddard - Turn My Swag On #36.

Alexa covered versions on YouTube to gain exposure and has done brilliantly, She released songs because her fans wanted to download them and to me it seems the perfect way to get into the market as it were. I think she has been very clever releasing Turn my Swag On tbh as everyone is after it since Cher's performance.

She has actually written her own material for her album and is not another artist who simply sings demo's and samples other artists. Covering these songs is simply a good PR move and it's not too dissimilar from Artists who cover songs on Radio 1 and then release them at a later date ( Pixie Lott, The Saturdays etc.. have done this).

But she's releasing this as a proper single? It's not even that good? she dosen't have her own stamp on it. If any artist went out there and copied keri hilson version of turn my swag on they would get high on itunes, due to the popularity. She's copied keri and dosen't desereve to break top 50 nevermind top 30.

By that token, The Saturdays - Just Can't Get Enough should never have been released either.

She hasn't released this as a proper single. She has released 3 covers on Itunes for her fans to download. She hasn't had any airplay or had any media attention it's simply her fans promoting and people who happen to stumble accross her on YouTube.

Also you could say the Original was Souja Boy who released Turn My Swag on first, yeah Keri may have changed a few lyrics here and there BUT she didn't come up with the song and isn't even credited on the song(It was classed as a remix).

Also, What's the big deal people obviously like it and it's always good to see new British acts appearing with the majority of the chart being built up of US acts.

Yeah, exactly. It'd be a little it different if Keri Hilson's version was on iTunes, but it isn't! There's this song that the nation is loving (or was loving a couple of months ago, not so much now), and they can't buy it! How frustrating. I think it's ridiculous that a song that was so popular at the moment only charted at what, #17?

I just wish it was on iTunes at the height of the songs popularity. It would've gone top 5 with ease, probably higher.
