ROTY has turned into a farce the last couple of years. It means nothing anymore.

Did it really ever mean anything, what with Westlife walking off with it every year. The only good winner while it was televised was S Club 7's Don't Stop Movin'. If it was still on ITV now and made a big deal of, JLS would have won last year with Beat Again and would win this year with Love U More!

My favourite of those ten is California Gurls, but not one of those songs would rank in my personal top 10 of 2010.

Oh, and apparently Rockstar won in 2008. Me and my sister used to have a little joke that the winners were usually the 'Worst Record of the Year', and 2008 was clearly no exception to that

Atleast Westlife or Busted aren't in the running anymore! :yahoo:

Fireflies is second?
Telephone - Lady Gaga is first!!?
Well given that its is by far the best song in that selection....

This.

bit depressing that the only british act is Tinie Tempah- but thats a good list of songs tbh

Fireflies should win- its easily the best there

And only ONE British act in that top 10 and it's Tinie. :puke2:

thats what i thought too - very disappointing.

I remember in 2004... Anastacia was leading until the very last set of votes, and then ended up being overtaken by both McFly and Busted (who ended up winning) I really couldn't believe it at the time, as she had quite a commanding lead at one point. Poor Anastacia! Still convinced it was a total fix - Busted were even on last to perform that night and had quite a memorable "big show" performance

And S Club 7 only won in 2001 because Westlife weren't in the finals that year. Otherwise it would have been another victory for them, no doubt. Queen Of My Heart was surely the best pop record of 2001!

fireflies deserves to win but it is inevitable with all of her fans that a lady gaga song will win it (I do like telephone though)

Oooft. This selection is better than previous years. Although I agree it means naff all anymore, I'm voting Bruno I think.

I voted Airplanes, and I was very shocked and upset to see it last! :o :(

And Telephone 1st? Like seriously? It's better than Just the Way You Are, and perhaps better than California Gurls, but it's not that good! I thought Tinie Tempah would win, but I guess a lot of adults might be voting in the poll, so they won't've heard the song.

Oh yeah. I think a lot of adults might be voting actually, judging by the fact the top 5 are all of Heart FM's playlist...

I hope Eminem & Rihanna end up as the record of the year. I prefer to call it the Bore Of The Year.
