If BEP get the #1 spot on iTunes, then because they'll get the #1 boost and Willow will lose it, and also because due to the other version that combined they'll be miles ahead of Willow, they will definitely get the official #1.

Even if BEP don't get the #1 iTunes spot, I am 90% sure they'll still get the official #1 due to the strength of their two entries.

If Willow can hold off the BEPs first version until tonight she may have a chance (as that's when their X Factor boost should wear off). Unlikely but it's her only hope given the current situation.

Is Willow decreasing or are Black Eyed Peas increasing anyway? I don't have my contact lenses or glasses on so it's impossible for me to tell and I've mislaid my ruler :(

Looks like the higher version of The Silence has been deleted  Either that or the chart bug has struck again

I suppose it's a good move really as the 'New Single Mix' should now climb a bit, might even make the low top 10

Awful song :P But what can I do about it

38. Limit to Your Love - James Blake

Yay, back in the top 40 again :D Maybe it's because of the Sound of 2011 poll? Although it could just be because it got played on daytime radio again, the last time it got played it went back up to #34. Hope it eventually makes the official top 40 anyway.

The James Blake tune is brilliant! Such a gorgeous voice. Way too subtle for today's top 40 though.

Not identical in the slightest.

I Got You was a second single The Silence is acting as a lead single to a deluxe album.

I Got You wasnt performed infront of 15million+ viewers.

I Got You was the same on both the singl & album version there was no 'new mix'.

You're just trying to compare the two to continue an argument in the last thread which is ridiculous. -_-

(also it didnt plummet, it was in top 40 for 6 weeks or so.

I said it was almost identical in terms of how the versions are sitting on iTunes, not on how they were promoted/packaged.

Obviously it has differences – what single doesn’t.

For what its worth, I was not trying to continue an argument from a previous thread, just trying to draw comparisons from the knowledge I have – which, given the high hopes I had for IGY getting #1 (never mind missing the top 10) – was the choice I used. :S

As it feels like I’m talking to a brick wall (and I’m sure you feel the same given your responses), let’s just agree to disagree! :)

Well obviously how they are promoted/packaged will have a profound impact on how they will be sitting on iTunes. -_-

They were just completely unrelated and its ridiculous to attempt to compare them both, it is like talking to a brick wall so we'll agree to disagree. :)

Hope Christmas Lights can make top 10 this week!

Why on Earth have iTunes not released the proper version of Flo Rida's 'Turn Around (5,4,3,2,1)' that is the most obvious reason why it's flopping, none of the versions avaliable on iTunes at the moment are being promoted by radio or TV! And for the casual buyer, the word, 'Remix' is enough to put anyone off buying it as they aren't sure whether it is the version they've heard before!

For me as a casual buyer, it would be the words 'Flo Rida' rather than 'remix', that put me off. :)

As a casual buyer, what would you be doing looking in the "rap" genre anyway? ;) :P

I like both songs... (this is actually the first song of Alexandra I've liked and downloaded)

Such a shame none of them sold (or sells) as much as I would want them to.

go on coldplay, hang in there, classic!!

Looks like ellie wont be no1 - what a choice we have then  at least willow is selling because its genuinely popular this week.beps are climbing artificially due to the mass exposure by the fix factor.disgusting chart!!ive said it before 'here today, gone tomorrow'

is gary jules top 100 due to the xfactor or is it just with the xmas popularity?? got boots by the killers at the weeknd simply because it was the new killers xmas tuen and its immense, deserves to be top 40!!

ugh at flo rida risin due to the video!!

Alexandra Burke - The Silence #25

Well, there is the 30 second preview on iTunes, but yes, I see what you mean. A song has to be absolutely phenomenal to get high on iTunes if it has the word "remix" in the title.

Like Turn My Wag On!!!!

I hope it can replace Coldplay in the top 10 before Michael Jackson does. It'd be the 3rd time that song stalls at #11 otherwize. Grrrr.

Alexanda Burke up to 24! :D

I hope that Alexa person stops selling quick. I want Cher to release that song.

No doubt she'll sing it this weekend and this Alexa will go higher in the chart.

Shame that they deleted the album version of 'The Silence' but at least now we don't have to ask where it is combined ..

The Silence has increased so much in airplay after the X Factor I think. I heard it 5 or 6 times on the radio on the way home from work (which takes about an hour). I heard it on Heart, Smooth, Galaxy/Capital, Touch and BRMB (I think).

And they probably played it on Radio 2 once too, but I never listen to that.

Before today I'd only ever heard it once on the radio, on Galaxy FM, about a month ago on a Wednesday night.

Typical Syco why delete the original that makes no sense unless the song climbs a huge amount this week.I do not think there is anymore promotion planned for it either.

Hope Willow can hold off that dreadful peas mess of a song.

Well, if deleting a version allows the song to get the top 10 effect, that's definitely beneficial. Otherwize, I'd think it'd hinder the song, as some people may want to buy both versions. On the other hand, since both versions are basically the same anyway, it may not make a difference.

Are there any actual remixes of The Silence on iTunes?

Also, I'm pretty sure Alexandra performed The Silence on TV sometime in 2009, and then it went top 100 in the charts.
