Big difference from yesterday's pop bars to today's - either Rihanna lost steam or Matt increased his lead

Does anyone think Surfin' Bird could be out the top 40 officially by Sunday? :o

 

Probably not. It's #37 now which means its sales from Sunday until now would surely be enough to remain in the top 40 for one more week. It'll definitely have a sharp drop though - perhaps 03-31? with the inevitable plummet out of the top 75 most likely next week - making way for the iTunes gift card effect.

Why do you assume the iTunes gift card affect will benefit her in particular ? It might benefit Matt as well which would keep him at No 1.

Rihanna & Drake won't benefit much from the gift card effect. It's too recent a song.

I suppose Ke$ha did benefit from gift cards a fair bit but I think that it re-peaking was also aided by a few other factors (such as RATM disappearing and there being practically no other new releases)

Exactly, I don't see why the gift cards would more benefit some artist. People are free to download what they want with gift cards, just like they're free to buy what they want.

It eventually could result in improving overall sales, but not just for one artist in particular.

I think it's more related to New Year's nostalgy and all, with end of year charts played all over music channels, shows such as Christmas TOTP, and people reminding their year in music.

Well it's confusing, and sticking with one name gives you a 'personality' and a 'this is who I am' feel about your as a member. It seems as if you are trying to hide who you are behind all these alias.

That whole sentence doesnt make any sense, this is an internet forum, we dont have a clue who anyone is or their personality for that matter by keeping one username. :wacko: If it was an issue, it wouldnt be an available option. Also if it seems i am trying to hide between different usernames why would i actually bother as everyone can see member's username history?

I think it does. -_- You build up your own status, personality and characteristics, ie. Tyron, Regina, Silas etc. They are 'characters' to an extent, on this forum. Well it's not an 'issue' as such, but I think that quite a few members are getting a bit fed up of your latest reincarnations. -_-

I can see Invincible replacing The Flood in the top 10, to be honest, as I suspect that's falling now, whilst Firework and Who's That Chick? might be reclimbing with the extra iTunes top 10 promotion they've recently received again.

 

It's doing amazingly though. I can't really think of many British songs this year which have climbed into the top 10 as album tracks, if that makes sense. There was Parachute and One Shot. And the album version of All Night Long did. There's probably a few others aswell. It'll be nice to have Kelly Rowland back in the top 10 too. :wub:

 

Actually, 6 of the current iTunes top 10 have fallen out, and then climbed back in! :o What's My Name?, Like a G6, The Flood, Who's That Chick?, Firework and The Time have all had 2 runs in the iTunes top 10! How peculiar. It's usually quite rare for a song to do that. I guess it's the time of year, with not many new releases, and a few fast-fallers in the chart.

 

Also, I have signatures and avatars turned off on this forum, so when people change usernames, I often don't have a clue who they are, unless I memorize their Join Date of Member No. or something. :lol: It doesn't really bother me much though.
