January 25, 201114 yr Got a new e-mail from Jedward (I signed up to their newsletter ), and apparently this new image is linked to the title of their entry. http://assets.umusic.co.uk/Jedward_Image-Reveal-I.jpg
January 25, 201114 yr Kiss of Death? And when they perform at ESC a sniper will take them out live on stage :w00t: Or is that too optimistic?
January 25, 201114 yr Oh lordy.... Somebody kill me now so I don't have to go through with the terrible shame. :drama: I am actually DEATHLY afraid, and I'm not even being overdramatic. What are the chances of the song actually being somewhat bearable? Edited January 25, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
January 25, 201114 yr Unlikely. Joao (@ContagiousKills) on Twitter figures it will be a cover of the Alesha Dixon song. I can imagine Louis Walsh being that stupid tbh.
January 25, 201114 yr http://www.esctoday.com/news/read/16569 Alexandra Burke has said that Ireland shouldn't pick Jedward because they'll bomb. You don't say... On another note, the vard sisters are quite nice. Not sure how they'd do at eurovision....but at least they'd be a respectable entry. h7brf0_IjRc They actually tried to enter eurovision for Ireland in 1998 with an Irish language song, however they came 2nd missing out by 3 points. Found Don Mescall too: NMcAu30mssM Not bad....at least he can sing well live. Edited January 25, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
January 28, 201114 yr The Vard Sisters are very good live, as are Don and Nikki. Jedward can't sing, and this new group that are also competing are apparently 'experienced'... One member being from D-Side. D: There will be a documentary on Feb 5 and we'll see each act recording the songs and how they got there and all that. I hope we get some previews soon. I'm pinning my hopes on Nikki!
January 28, 201114 yr Unlikely. Joao (@ContagiousKills) on Twitter figures it will be a cover of the Alesha Dixon song. I can imagine Louis Walsh being that stupid tbh. Wouldn't that be against the contest regulations.
January 28, 201114 yr It would be and would therefore be disqualified, but the songwriters are different anyway so it's not, sadly.
January 29, 201114 yr According to RTE, these are the song names: 1. Don Mescall - Talking with Jennifer (Ronan Hardiman & Don Mescall ) 2. Jedward - Lipstick (Dan Priddy, Lars Jensen and Martin Larson) 3. Mystery Act - Shine On (Patrick Mahoney) 4. The Vard Sisters - Send me an angel (Liam Lawton) 5. Nikki Kavanagh - Falling (Christina Schilling, Camilla Gottschalck, Jonas Gladnikoff and Hanif Sabzevari) Shine on is giving me horrible flashbacks of that Netherlands entry. :puke2: Based on song titles alone I'd go with Nikki or Don. Send me an angel sounds like it'll be some kind of "raise me up" song. That said we'll have to wait until we hear the songs. I think they'll be released on Feb 5th. January 29, 201114 yr Shine on is giving me horrible flashbacks of that Netherlands entry. :puke2: Try thinking of Georgia 2010 and her wonderful performance. Much less horrific.
January 30, 201114 yr I think the vard sisters will have a haunting style sound, something on the lines of eimear quinns the voice, i hope you know the osund i mean, liam lawton is into writing that style, im looking forward top hearing the songs and i have to say if jedward have the best song i hope they go through but i hope they dont go through on name, i just hope the best song wins of the night like last year.
January 30, 201114 yr and this new group that are also competing are apparently 'experienced'... One member being from D-Side. D: :o I loved D-side!
January 31, 201114 yr Whats the chances there will be a member from Six involved aswell? Or the possibility of 2 ex members seeing as the new group will be 2 boys and 2 girls! I loved Six so would be pleased to see some of them return along with members of D-Side and Reel!
February 2, 201114 yr Rebecca Creighton from Belle Amie will apparently be joining Jedward on Lipstick. I guess she might make it a little less horrendous...
February 2, 201114 yr 'Falling'. Doesn't sound like it'd be upbeat :( because falling off a cliff or through the sky to your death isn't upbeat or fast... Falling definitely says upbeat to me, I suppose it depends what way you look at it. Falling as in physically or falling as in some kind of emotional metaphor for life (or probably a relationship :P) It'll probably be like a mixture of both. Every time I think about what Falling might be like I just hear the song "Freefallin" in my head instead. :P Rebecca Creighton won't make Jedward less horrendous Jedward will make Rebecca Creighton more horrendous (I'm not saying she actually is right now) Edited February 2, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
February 3, 201114 yr 30 second clip of Jedward's song on Amazon; http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004LY9...80&sr=301-5 sounds incredibly irritating, quelle surprise!
