December 27, 201014 yr YES IT IS! :D And I agree about your comment about this being similar to Jonjo's chart - at least it makes me feel better at having #1s so low and low peakers so high! I'm shocked at your peak for LTWYL though! :o Which means it didn't make your top 100/200! :o I might listen to 30-second previews or something, but thanks for the heads-up! :) It didn't! But Pt.2 did (just - got to #99), and I far prefer it :D I appreciate that it's an iconic song but it's never really been one that I 'love'.
December 27, 201014 yr 'Eenie Meenie' was a top ten hit for me, although it is pretty dreadful looking back on it. Nah, it's easily his 2nd best after 'Love Me'. SO? OH RIGHT. I think I get what you're getting at. WASTE YOUR TIME!? How is listening to any of the hundred best songs of 2010 a WASTE OF TIME!? You like Cheryl Cole, so I don't want to take your judgement on them being one of hundred best songs of the year I shouldn't be ashamed of having anything involving crap such as 'Man Down' or 'Raining Men' as low as #32 in my album chart! Why is Toni Braxton's album an odd inclusion for me though? I do love a good bit of pure R&B (see Alicia Keys) and Toni delivered it in one of the best varities. 'Raining Men' is certainly the album lowlight, but the highs really make up for it. 'Man Down' isn't too bad imo. Dunno, it's just that Toni is a bit old and didn't do much in the UK. How does it annoy you!? I kind of agree that 'All the Lovers' is overrated, but it is special! And I agree that JDR's album is a rip-off, but I didn't purchase it anyway! ^_^ Just does really. The chorus kind of grates on me. I bought JDR's album at the airport, so I think it was cheaper than in a high-street store

The song introduced us to the original Glee Club and became a hit in most countries across the world, including #2 in the UK chart! It's a brilliant cover, with genius backing music and miles better than the Journey original. It's safe to say that those who criticse this show (and its music) haven't given it a fair chance - I went into it not expecting to like it at all and 11 months later I got the boxset for Christmas! Michael Bublé's third UK top fourty hit off his current studio album 'Crazy Love' (plus 'Hollywood Edition') reaches #27 in my end of year chart! I loved it on first listen, and it turned me from a casual listener of 'Haven't Met You Yet' to a big fan of his music in general! It took a while for it to actually peak in my chart, but it eventually reached the top ten three months after its first charting week. It's a brilliant song, and if you watch the video, you can tell how tongue-in-cheek it is; the song and video. Album his album is a bit patchy, he certainly knows how to pick the singles! Bruno Mars's debut solo single, 'Just The Way You Are', makes #26 here. It's a beautiful song, but it's a bit overplayed here in the UK. I do love it though, and it comes off a very strong debut album. And opening the top twenty-five is Benny Bennasi and friends, with the incredible dance anthem, 'Spaceship'! Kelis's vocals on this are sublime and it's a great dance production from Benny Bennasi. It's got a nice Summer-vibe to it, but it's also a good night-life song. I've not idea how often he releases a new song, but every time he does, he seems to top himself with it! Let's hope 2011 brings great things from him.

They first appeared in this countdown at #64 (featuring Ke$ha), and now the second single off 'Streets Of Gold', 'Double Vision' has made the top fourty! It underperformed in the UK charts majorly, after I was slightly hyping it up a bit too much. I full expected it to go at least top fourty for one week, but it didn't even reach the top one hundred! Anyway, this Summer ANTHEM (perhaps released a bit too late) is a brilliant tune from the boys, and even without their token female guest-star, it's my favourite of their songs! B.o.B's second entry is at #23, the Summer #1 sounds of 'Airplanes'. It first charted in my personal chart whilst it was climbing the UK top ten, and eventually peaked two places lower than predeccessor 'Nothin' On You'. Eventually though, I do prefer this, and it charts almost twenty places higher in my end-of-year chart! Marina & The Diamonds's (who, confusing, is a solo artist) breakthrough hit, 'Hollywood', just misses out on the top twenty here (although it is the highest peaking of the two Hollywoods in this chart!). It's a brilliant song from an excellent album, so it disappointed me greatly when both underperformed in the UK chart. The single contains many witty lyrics and she looks absolutely gorgeous in the music video. I hope she gets another album, as I feel she has a lot to develop through her music! Ke$ha's fourth single off her debut album 'Animal' is at #21. 'Take It Off' is a brilliant piece of electro-pop and one of the highlights of the (brilliant) album. The lyrics I also find are great; I especially love when she sings about the glitter on the floor. Anyway, 'Cannibal' and 'We R Who We R' are due to be released in the UK next year; both are great and I hope she continues the success she achieved this year into next!

'The Adventures...' features quite a lot of good songs, including all four singles and is really good for a debut! I was shocked I liked it so much on first listen, but B.o.B really is one of the best new talents of 2010. Michael Bublé's 2009 album, 'Crazy Love', complete with repackaged 'Hollywood Edition' makes #29 in this chart. I go on about how much I love his music a bit too music, but when it comes to the albums they seem to be quite filler-ish. I love all three new songs on the 'Hollywood Edition' though, along with some of the original album's songs. It's a nice output though, and he's anything but boring in his music! Christina Aguilera's floptastic fourth studio album 'Bionic' is at #28. There are a few good songs, but there were two big mistakes made with this album. The first is that a lot of the best songs were left as bonus tracks or on the deluxe disc and the second was the ordering of the tracks on the main disc. Still, there is a decent album in there somewhere, but the lead single put quite a lot of people off I'm thinking. 3OH!3's third studio album is next, featuring the two singles from my top 100 singles countdown along with the two big singles off their previous album 'Want'. It again is a rather nice collection, with a few standout tracks but they do seem to continue with some of the "shout-singing" off their previous album which puts me off a bit. And just missing the top twenty-five is Shontelle's sophomore album, 'No Gravity'. The first three tracks are absolutely stunning, and there are some other nice songs further down the tracklist, but most of the songs don't seem to "go together". It, again, is a nice collection though and miles better than the previous album, 'Shontelligence'.

I first heard this in its original form, last January, and whereas I sort-of liked it then, I wasn't in a hurry to listen again. I think it was this August that I next heard it though, not sure where, in its new form and I fell in love. It's a beautiful mid-tempo pop song at its best. The message, music and lyrics are all just perfect. It comes from a decent album, but the rest of it certainly paled in comparison to this, unfortunately. Keri Hilson returned in 2010 with the stunning 'I Like', a one-off single that doesn't belong to any album. I first heard it when it leaked last October, and whilst I loved it then, I never paid much attention to it. Anyway, fast-forward to May of this year (I think), when it was randomly added to UK's iTunes. I started playing it more and more and loving it more and more. It then climbed into my top ten for a month and I still love it to this date. It's a brilliant production from Keri, and definitely one of her finest hours. Whereas I like some of the songs from 'No Boys Allowed' (her second studio album), I don't think any of them will ever be up to 'I Like''s standard (although I've not actually finishing playing it through, so you never know!). Next is one of the most iconic songs of 2010, in the form of megastar duet 'Telephone'! I first heard this in November last year and it shot straight to #1 in my chart! After receiving the album, I began playing it more and more, and I got 'Telephone' into my head. It spent a further two weeks atop my chart, two months before the legendary music video was finally released! The video was brilliant for a week or two, but after that the novelty faded. It's still a good song to listen to every now and again though, and it reaches #18 in my 2010 chart! Alexandra Burke's second song to chart in my end of year is next, featuring the ever-present Pitbull. Unless you're Radio 1, of course, as they had had enough of Pitbull and removed him from their radio edits after the second collaboration with him was released! 'All Night Long' is a brilliant piece of Euro-pop and one of Alexandra's finest hours. It's my favourite song off the original 'Overcome' album, so I was pleased when it was announced as single. I was weary about it being remixed, but it was a huge shock to me at how good it sounded! It's always nice to listen to and never seems to get "old". I expect huge things for her in 2011. Eva Simons), 'Sing Like Me' The Wanted's debut album is at #25, featuring the amazing #1 'All Time Low'. As I mentioned in the singles chart, 'All Time Low' is by far and away the highlight of the album, but there are some other good songs to go with it. There is a bit of filler in there though, but they do know how to choose the singles, which is what the fans are after! I expect they'll release another couple of albums, with the first single off each reaching #1 in the UK. Florence + The Machine's debut album, released in 2009, is at #24. I never wanted to like her music, so always ignored it when I had the chance of hearing it. It wasn't until January of 2010 when I first heard it, after the whole country fell in love with her sublime cover of 'You've Got The Love'. I gave the album a listen, and it is very strong! Again, she is another artist who is bloody good at picking the singles, as all five (or something) singles are great! I suspect her next album will be just as good, and she could even get herself a UK #1! Kanye West's 2010 comeback album, which is completely different to the previous '808s & Heartbreak' album is next. It was another album I put off listening to, as what I'd already heard off the album wasn't really great. Anyway, I finally listened to it at the beginning of December and it's brilliant stuff! 'All Of The Lights' (featuring a lot of artists, including Rihanna and Fergie) is absolutely genius and I hope it's huge once released as a single next February! Despite it being quite a long album, I did really enjoy it from start to finish with there being some brilliant collaborations on there. McFly's fifth studio album is at #22. It's a very decent effort from the boys, with their new sound working completely on it. The futuristic theme is seen throughout, with a female voice speaking over a few songs (I can't really explain it properly). There are some very strong songs on it though; I've not actually heard any of their previous studio albums, but judging from the singles off them, I think this may be their best! And just before the top twenty is Chris Brown's 2009 studio album, 'Graffiti'. I first heard it early this year after I was hearing 'I Can Transform Ya' a lot at the end of last year. I must say, though, that it is a very strong effort! I think I'm one of few who actually preferred this to Rihanna's last album ('Rated R'), after everyone started slating his music for the incident. Anyway, the highlights are brilliant and I'm just a bit disappointed that it underperformed, although after the incident I can tell why.

Pitbull), 'Bad Boys' (ft. Flo Rida) Robyn's complete 'Body Talk' collection opens up the top twenty, featuring the three singles and her favourite songs off the the three seperate parts. The original part was slightly underwhelming and it didn't chart in my personal albums chart. It wasn't until the second part when I became hooked with the single, 'Hang With Me', and was looking forward to the album. It certainly didn't disappoint! Almost every song on 'Part 2' was great, and 'Part 3' was equally brilliant. The mixture of songs on the final 'Body Talk', although not the best order, was still good and reflected the albums quite well. She apparantly set to release another three-part series next year, so if she does I hope it's as good as, if not better than this! Medina becomes the only Danish person to chart in either of my end-of-year charts, at #19 in the albums. 'Welcome To Medina' was her first English-language album, a re-recorded version of 'Velkommen Til Medina' which was released in some European territories in August 2009. It features some very good dance songs, with a few patchy parts, but overall a very good output! I hope she releases some more English music in the future, as this was one of my Summer soundtracks this year and I'd love for another from her! Kylie Minogue's eleventh(!) studio album makes #18 here, featuring the Summer smash 'All The Lovers' and more. I wasn't sure whether I'd like this at first, after the initally disappointing lead single, but as it grew I was looking forward to hearing the album. When I eventually heard it, I liked most of what I heard. There is a few lowlights, but the electro-goodness highlights are very good so I didn't dwell on it too much. The single releases of the second and third singles were a bit messed up, which was disappointing, but they're not bad songs so I did like that they got released. Hopefully she doesn't wait too long to release the next album, as I think it can definitely top this one! Diana Vickers's long-awaited debut album makes #16. I bought this as I was going to meet her, but I wasn't sure whether I'd like it at first. After the first listen though, I fell in love, and I'm glad I bought it. The two singles were chosen well, as they're my two favourite songs off the album, but I was very disappointed at both of their underperformances plus the album's bombing down the UK chart. The attempt to re-release it in November also failed, as third single 'My Wicked Heart' also bombed the chart after its peak. I do love her and her music though, so hopefully the promised new album to be released next year will live up to the predecessor's standards. And at #16 is Diana's X-Factor mate, Alexandra Burke, who won the series in 2008 to Diana's fourth place. Alexandra released her debut single, 'Bad Boys', last October along with the original release of 'Overcome'. I did like 'Overcome' during its release, but the re-release complete with four new tracks and three remixes of songs from it is a hell of a lot better! The album is very strong complete with many incredible songs, but I feel sometimes the singles were wrongly picked. Alexandra kept repeating the method of release a "club banger" with an American rapper on a verse. I do like two of them, but the third was a completely ridiculous decision. It was the "Jamaican inspired" 'Start Without You', that despite being so shockingly bad went to #1 in the UK. It became Alex's only single (bar 'Hallelujah', as my chart hadn't started then) to not chart in my top fourty. Anyway, the rest of the album is very good and the three new tracks show promise! I hope her second studio album is as good as if not better than 'Overcome' and shall hopefully be released in 2011!

December 29, 201014 yr 'Don't Stop Believin'' is very over-rated, wouldn't even rank in my top 20 Glee tracks. 'Hollywood' is k, but not the best 'Hollywood' of the year. I like 'Just The Way You Are', but again I think it's over-rated. The next section is amazing. 'Double Vision', 'Airplanes', 'Hollywood' & 'Take It Off' are all BRILLIANT. I love the B.o.B & 3Oh!3 albums, and I also like Christina & Shontelle. Not listened to 'Crazy Love', don't think it would be my thing. Next up is another very good section. 'Wonderful Life', 'Telephone' & 'All Night Long' are all very good. 'I Like' is also good, but I've not listened to it much. The Wanted's debut is really great, with a couple of filler tracks, but you've picked the right highlights. I didn't get into Florence until this year, but 'Lungs' is a great album as well. I might need to listen to the Kanye album since you really like it, wouldn't expect it would be my thing, but Aled also really likes it. Not really heard any of the other albums. Well, heard parts of some, but that was so long ago.

Rihanna), 'I'm The Best', 'Check It Out' (with will.i.am) Kelis's 2010 comeback was not one that I expected to be this good. She returned to the UK in April with the incredible dance sounds of 'Acapella'. A few songs leaked (including 'Home') between this and the album's release. 'Home' became a favourite of mine before I heard the album, and although it's not similar to that, it is a very good effort. One of the only downsides would be that it's not even 10 tracks long, but the 9 tracks on there are superb. I hope she releases more music similar to this genre in the future, as it works well with her voice I think. Pixie Lott re-released her 2009 debut album, 'Turn It Up', in October of this year; including five new songs aswell as the five that were added onto the album last December as an iTunes-only release. Most of the new tracks are as good as, some even better than the original album; which was a perfect combination for a great album! 'Coming Home', featuring Jason DeRülo is my highlight of the new songs, which is just what some of the R&B-lite tracks off the original album should've sounded like! Nadine Coyle, one fifth of Girls Aloud, waited a long time to release her debut album, much to some fans' disappointment. The wait was finally over in September of this year when 'Insatiable' leaked/premiered (I can't remember which) and a lot of fans claimed to be amazing and one of the best songs of the year. They were exaggerating (as most now admit), but it's still a very decent, strong pop song. Nadine's album is also great, packed with hits and oozing with personality. It was unfortunate, then, that the record flopped in the UK charts and only lasted one week in the UK albums chart (at #47). I do like the album, a lot, but I think she would've been better signing with a more well-established label. Jason DeRülo released his debut album in March, and I was slightly underwhelmed at the time. A couple of months later, around the time third single 'Ridin' Solo' was released, I listened again and was very impressed! Nearly every song is brilliant, and as his album campaign said "1 album, 10 hits" (or something similar). I disagree that they'd all be hits as such, but it is a very strong debut. Infact, I'd say only the first two singles wouldn't rate at least 8 out of 10! I look forward to his next album (which will most likely be a 2011 release) and see if he can mature a bit with his music, as we saw with 'What If'. And just missing the top ten is US rapper Nicki Minaj! I only heard this for the first time less than two weeks ago, but I must admit, it's a brilliant album. I didn't expect much from it, but listened on the basis of 'Check It Out' being so brilliant. Almost every song is brilliant and there's genius lyrics all throughout. I'm disappointed she doesn't get much recognition here in the UK, but hopefully she will in the future! There's loads of room for her to grow as an artist, and there's a huge gap for someone like her in the UK. There's some weird choices of duets on the album (mainly Natasha Bedingfield), but it really does work!

The Saturdays's second entry on this chart, about eighty places higher than the last (with another to come!) just misses the elite top fifteen! 'Higher' first appeared in July 2010 when they were touring around the UK performing it at little festivals. I liked it a lot, and anticipated hearing the final studio version. Jump forward to mid-August time when "mini-album" 'Headlines' is released and we finally hear 'Higher' in its full glory! It was... heaven, to put it simply. The production is incredible and it just has that cool Summer vibe to it. Next we go to September when the video is released, and it's one heck of an amazing video! They finally appear to have been given a budget and they use it wisely! From the dancing across the zebra crossing to the walking backwards on the pavement it's just glory. Anyway, as you can probably tell, this is a brilliant song and I'd happily call it my favourite song by The Saturdays... if it weren't for a song lying in the top fifteen...! Ellie Goulding's first "proper" single release was 'Starry Eyed', released in February of this year. 'Starry Eyed' is a glorious song, which seems to never get boring. Especially when Ellie has performed it live, she always manages to perform it better. Her haunting vocals during the intro are spectacular and the whole "glitz"-ness of the song in general is brilliant too. This was a brilliant opener to a spectacular album, and Ellie certainly didn't disappoint me in 2010. And following her is perhaps 2010's biggest hit. Well, in the UK anyway. That song is 'Love The Way You Lie', the song in which Eminem rapped whilst Rihanna sung about an issue close to her; domestic abuse. The video was one of the most awaited of the year, and whilst it's not my favourite it is fairly haunting and you can tell Rihanna meant everything she sung. It's a brilliant production, with great lyrics from both parties. It's a shame the parent album, 'Recovery', was a bit of a disappointment compared, but this will go down as the classic hit of 2010 regardless.
December 29, 201014 yr I'd completely forgot about Wonderful Life! I think that's more of a 2009 song for me though, or it might have been early this year when I first heard it? I can't remember. Nice to see Higher doing so well (though it was to be expected I suppose) I was surprised by how much I like it though I'm quite bored of it now. I thought McFly might be higher on your album chart but I'm glad the likes of Aphrodite and Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree are ahead of it.

December 30, 201014 yr Author 'Don't Stop Believin'' is very over-rated, wouldn't even rank in my top 20 Glee tracks. You won't like Kanye's album. I'd completely forgot about Wonderful Life! 'Parachute' was the final single off Cheryl's debut album '3 Words', and was released in March of this year. 'Parachute' was one of my highlights off the album when it was first released last October and I loved it when she performed it live before its announcement as being a single. This made me extremely glad when it was announced as single number three and of course, it shot straight to #1 in my singles chart. It's a great mid-tempo song by Cheryl, which highlights the diversity of her music (in my opinion). Anyway, I'm not going to harp on too much about this as I'm sure you all know by now that I love Cheryl, so this might even come as a shock to you that I've placed her so low down the list! Alexandra Burke's third entry in this list and sixth single off debut album 'Overcome' (and the 'Deluxe Edition') is the "new single mix" of 'The Silence'. It's a stunning ballad in which Alexandra sings for her aunt, telling her to leave her partner. She first performed this on the Paul O'Grady Show last November, delivering an absolutely flawless vocal and it was her way of saying she was in the music business to stay. Jump forward a whole thirteen months and the single is released, preceeded by the best performance on the X Factor I have seen to date! The performance involved dancing floating around on high wires and the climax of the performance showed her following suit and flying into air. I like to call that "the Jesus". Anyway, 'The Silence' is a stunning song with beautiful lyrics and I can tell Alex means every word of them. Katy Perry's first of four entries just misses the top ten, meaning she is the artist with most songs inside my end of year top ten! 'Teenage Dream' was originally released as an iTunes-only single in the US, as part of a countdown to the parent album (also titled 'Teenage Dream'). Once I had heard it, I loved it immediately and the next week it shot to #1 on my singles chart for a massive six weeks! It is a beautiful song though, and Katy's vocals are at their best on it. The parent album is great aswell, as good as if not better than predecessor 'One Of The Boys'. This was definitely the song of my Summer, and the video is one of my favourites of the year, too! Katy truly has been my star of 2010 and may that continue into the New Year!
December 30, 201014 yr Author Top 40 Albums #10: Marina & The Diamonds · 'The Family Jewels' http://i56.tinypic.com/2zhk4xw.png 1-1-3-2-4-12-14-5-11-8-8-15-x-3-10-15-14-x Highlights: 'Hollywood', 'Oh No!', 'Hermit The Frog' Actually, my name's Marina! Yes, that's right, Marina & The Diamonds who finished second (to Ellie Goulding - yet to chart) in the BBC Sound of 2010 poll opens up as my tenth best album of 2010. I wasn't going to buy this album initially, after finding lead single 'Hollywood' overrated for about a month or so, but before its release I saw an offer that had the album for less than £5 so I just had to cave. And what a good decision that was. Prior to the album, I'd only heard 'Mowgli's Road' and 'Hollywood', both of which were alright at the time but didn't give me too high hopes for the album. Anyway, when I finally heard it I was glad I bought it, as it's a brilliant indie/pop collection of songs with Marina's quirky vocals and great lyrics. If I had to name a "duff" track, it'd probably be 'Rootless', but it really is a pretty much faultless record.
December 30, 201014 yr Author Top 40 Albums #09: Leona Lewis · 'Echo' http://i52.tinypic.com/zu2ets.png 3-6-5-11-1-3-8-12-9-x-8-11-x-15-x-7-5-10-11-12-x Highlights: 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out', 'Happy', 'I Got You' Leona Lewis's 2009 sophomore album is next at #9. I received this last Christmas, hence it only charting for the first time this year. It's a very good effort, with a lot of the emotion seen from debut 'Spirit' still there, with a more diverse feel to the whole record. It starts off with the emotional 'Happy' and flows in and out of down- to mid-tempo songs, including 'Outta My Head'; championed as the best thing Leona's ever done (it's not). It's still a very decent dance/pop song though, which is showing a transition of her music I think, so I look forward to her third album and seeing if it will be as good as the previous two!
