Well, not me for starters! We last saw Joe on The X Factor 2009, where he was described as "musical theatre" by judges and critics - so when he came back with this massive Europop number (a cover of Donkeyboy or someone), I was very shocked. Of course, the UK public didn't take well to it and now Joe's just a laughing stock here, but at least we have the amazing 'Ambitions' which slots in at #72 in my chart! And from one X Factor winner to another, at 71 is the first number one from my chart, and it comes to us from 2006's The X Factor winner, Leona Lewis! Leona returned in 2009 with 'Happy', which was meant to be a huge #1; UK and globally, but it failed to reach #1 here and she was forgotten of for a while longer. Then news of the next single, 'I Got You' came around and after months of waiting for a video, it came out the Friday before its official release, ending Leona's consecutive top ten run of singles. I loved it at the beginning of 2010 though, and it's a great mid-tempo love song. Starting off the top seventy is the debut single off Nicki Minaj's album, 'Pink Friday'. As you've guessed from my weekly chart, I tend to listen to the Cheryl Cole remix most of the time, but for chart purposes, she's not credited here. 'Check It Out' is a brilliant song, sampling 'Video Killed The Radio Star' (to great effect), and it's just a really good dance/pop/R&B song! And finally in this group is the very appropriately titled 'Dirty Picture', at #69. I loved this song for months before its release (and as you can tell from the amount of times it left my chart, it was scheduled for release multiple times!), so when it was finally released, I was a bit underwhelmed by the radio edit (which removes the word "dirty" from the chorus) - so continued to listen to the "Part II" version off Ke$ha's album, 'Animal'!
December 22, 201014 yr 'Ambitions' got old quite quick for me. I seem to be the only one who likes the dancing in his video :( 'I Got You' is k, but far from being her best. 'Check It Out' is brilliant, and the lyric you quoted is probably the BEST LYRIC EVER. And it has the 4th best music video of 2010 ^_^ 'Dirty Picture' Taio's best single, even though I live for Ke$ha's bits. One of those songs I just want to sing to members of TW & 1D :kink: the debut single off Nicki Minaj's album, 'Pink Friday'.
December 22, 201014 yr I never 'got' 'Ambitions', it's just a bit bland a could be sung by anyone; The X Factor formula of releasing in the Autumn doesn't really work and the only exceptions, Leona & Alex, was because they had great songs regardless of The X Factor. 'I Got You' is similar to Ambitions, nice, but not anything wow! 'Check It Out' is good and great to listen to with friends, but with a will.i.am & Nicki Minaj collab, I would of expected something better. 'Dirty Picture' is similar to 'Check It Out', I agree that the radio version is just a bit  So I listen to the Ke$ha edit!
December 22, 201014 yr Joe McElderry? Good bunch here though, and nothing I totally hate since last time (though not heard SB)
December 22, 201014 yr Author 'Fireflies' has been a bit over-played now. But would you really say it's love/hate? Everyone I know loved it at the time :o LOL Sara Bareilles. Nice song, not outstanding. 'Just A Dream' is really good. Listened to the first few tracks on his album and none were anywhere near as good as JAD. 'Seek Bromance' is one of those songs which sounds a lot better when you're driving along in the car at night. I do love it, but it doesn't beat the European hit of the year, 'Stereo Love'. Well you obviously can't handle the truth -_- A lot of people I know hated Owl City at the time, I think it's cos he's a bit too emo for them. Sara Bareilles is amazing! Get rid. Have you heard 'Gone' and 'Liv Tonight'!? They're both really good, I thought! Oh yeah, I think that sounds great, It's much better than 'Stereo Love' though. :P 'Ambitions' got old quite quick for me. Yeah, it's nowhere near her best, but it's a nice song. ^_^ LMFAO the lyric IS genious! I don't really care much for music videos, but it's an alright one - nothing outstanding though. It's a great song, but not my favourite - it was for a while though, it's gone off me a bit though. :( Thanks. :) I never 'got' 'Ambitions', it's just a bit bland a could be sung by anyone; The X Factor formula of releasing in the Autumn doesn't really work and the only exceptions, Leona & Alex, was because they had great songs regardless of The X Factor. 'Dirty Picture' is similar to 'Check It Out', I agree that the radio version is just a bit  So I listen to the Ke$ha edit! It's not meant to be a formula, it's just easier for Simon to promote them or whatever, I think. :s I wouldn't say it's bland at all though! Thanks for reading. :) It is... Is that not 'Your Love'? Actually, I reckon Jack's probably right. Joe McElderry? Good bunch here though, and nothing I totally hate since last time (though not heard SB) YES. -_- You should listen to Sara Bareilles, you may love it! :o Thank you for the reading.
December 22, 201014 yr 'Ambitions' should be higher clearly. Pleased to see one of your #1's so low, makes me feel less aprehensive about the fact one of mine is just a bit higher. Good to see you include 'King Of Anything' aswell. Reasonably decent rundown so far.

'Bubbles' was a massive surprise to me on first listen and I immediately charted it at #40; a week and a lot of plays later and it became my personal chart #1! It's a brilliant pop/rock song, and I don't care whether they're seen as "sell-outs", as Biffy Clyro have delivered some brilliant material on their 2009 'Only Revolutions' album! At number 67 is Kelis's next (and penultimate) entry here, the cool Summer dance sounds of '4th Of July'. I always found it an odd choice of single and never really got it, but then I saw her perform it live on Alan Carr: Chatty Man and it clicked! I listened to it very frequently, and it ended up out-peaking the predecessor, 'Acapella'! Aggro Santos's only entry is next, featuring ex-Pussycat Doll; Kimberly Wyatt! 'Candy' is a brilliant urban/pop crossover song, which despite its low peak on my singles chart, is one of my favourite of that genre this year! Kimberly's chorus is great, and while I despise Aggro himself, he sure knows how to make a hit - see his new single with Kimberley Walsh for example! Alexandra Burke's first of three entries is up at #65; the early 2010 hit, 'Broken Heels'. I've loved this song since the album's release and find it to be very underrated as far as her singles go. After a couple of months of climbing, it got to my #1 spot, becoming her highest peaking single there ever! It is a great pop song though and the music video is great! It features Ke$ha (which you'd think would be the formula for an amazing song), but whilst it is very good, I got tired of it quickly. The chorus is amazing though, almost up to 'Starstrukk' (which due to it being a 2009 release, hasn't charted here)'s standard. They certainly do know how to pick singles though! Alexis Jordan's breakthrough hit is at 63. It's a song that despite minimal production just so happens to be a great dance song! Although you can tell how small the budget really was from the tacky music video, not that I care much for them anymore. Rihanna's third entry and David Guetta's third is next. It's the current dance/pop anthem, 'Who's That Chick?'! I love the production on it and; despite me being slightly underwhelmed by Rihanna's David Guetta sound-alike single, 'Only Girl (In The World)'; this doesn't fail to impress me! And the final song before the top sixty is Marina & The Diamonds's first entry, 'Oh No!'. It was always one of my favourite songs off the album, so I was really glad to see it released (although majorly gutted to see it flop). It's a really good pop song with Marina's indie quirks about it though, so it very much deserves its place here!
December 22, 201014 yr Author Top 40 Albums I'm just going to take a few breaks every now and then, to post five albums at a time. The top ten will all be individually revealed though. - I wasn't going to include 2009 releases, but as some 2009 albums I only heard for the first time this year, I decided to count them. - Albums due a UK release in 2011 (such as Bruno Mars's debut album and Keri Hilson's sophomore album) have been excluded and shall be in next year's countdown! - Glee albums have been excluded, as have compilation albums! That's about all, so I'll just say that the #1 is a shock and I don't think many of you will guess it quickly! -/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/ #40: Timbaland · 'Shock Value II' http://i52.tinypic.com/2vjvp84.png 7-7-4-15-x-5-5-x-3-x-13-12-x Highlights: 'If We Ever Meet Again' (ft. It's his second album in the 'Shock Value' series, but it's a slightly disappointing effort. Its highlights are very good though, which redeems it and lets it chart here! As you can tell, I do like a good old male/female pop song. Kid Sister's debut album is next, which again, the highlights are great! 'Daydreaming' was brilliant, and still is, which was what got me interested in the album, which on the whole, doesn't disappoint. Joe McElderry and his cheap album campaign is at #38. It's an alright album, with some good songs on it, but it's the laziest album release ever surely!? About half the album is covers, which doesn't bode well for his future. Anyway, I loved 'Ambitions', but the rest of the album doesn't really live up to it unfortunately. Then it's Example, whose album has quite a few highlights, but also a fair number of lowlights. It's good for a debut though, and we'll hopefully see more from him in the future! Taylor Swift's third album, 'Speak Now', charts at #37. It's got numerous highlights and is actually a really good album! I've loved 'Mine' since it first leaked, and when I first heard 'Sparks Fly' I fell in love with it! It's a good effort, but a bit too long and quite a few filler-y tracks.
December 22, 201014 yr BOO TAYLOR SWIFT IS TOO LOW But the comment is good (apart from it being a bit too long. Really, what's with that? You can never have too much Taylor -_-).
December 23, 201014 yr I adore Who's That Chick, Oh No! and Happiness, nothing else is really standing out to me so far. Joe's album is underrated, I like it but I guess it's pretty forgettable. I must have played it 10 times now and I still can't remember the name of the song I really like on it. Despite loving all of the singles, I still haven't got round to listening to Example's album.

At #60 is the second single from Roll Deep's 2010 comeback, 'Green Light'. It's a great dance/pop/urban track, complete with the great vox of Tania Foster on the chorus. This is my favourite of their singles, and despite it not being brilliant, it still deserves a place in my top sixty! After that is the comeback from Kaci, last seen in 2001 with a song I've not even heard! I first heard 'Crazy Possessive' last Autumn and loved it on first listen. I then heard it was due a UK release this year (it flopped unfortunately) and began playing it on repeat, so much so that it topped my personal chart! Anyway, the amazing song, complete with the super-sexy video slots in at 59 here! Then after Kaci is the only Eurovision entry you'll find on this YTD, and that comes from Azerbaijan's Safura and the incredible 'Drip Drop'. It's a huge power ballad, that I was fully backing for the win in Oslo (which unfortunately only came fifth) - but it's a great song anyway, from a fairly good album; which makes it my 58th best song of the year! And next is Florence + The Machine, whose original 2008 release 'Dog Days Are Over', complete with a revamped music video, peaks at #57. It's a stunning song from Florence, which highlights her incredible vocals and the music to the lyrics is incredible too!

At #56 is the debut hit from Girls Aloud member, Nadine Coyle (stylishly branded as "Nadine"). 'Insatiable' is a brilliant song, and whilst I was disappointed at its underperformance in the UK charts, I can see why. The song itself is slightly dated-sounding, which isn't a good thing in 2010 Pop music! I love it though, and it ranks at a healthy position. Example's third single off his debut album is next, the poptastic 'Kickstarts'! It took a long while to grow on me, and once it clicked, I loved it! It's by far his best single yet, and the best indicator of what was to come on his album, I think. Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "grand comeback" is at #54, which despite being an incredible song, flopped into the UK charts. It's slightly different to what her music's been like in the past, but it's still a grand pop song and one of the best pure pop hits (well, songs) of the year! I hope we finally hear her new album, as unlikely as that is seeming currently. Then it's Diana Vickers! Hyped to the max. to be a big hit this year, Diana scored a debut #1 single and album in April. Both, however, bombed down the charts following this, despite being an incredible debut. 'Once' is another poptastic song, featuring Vickers's different vocal style. It stuck around my personal chart for ages, but I do prefer the successor single (which performed even worse in the UK chart!). December 23, 201014 yr Author BOO TAYLOR SWIFT IS TOO LOW But the comment is good (apart from it being a bit too long. Really, what's with that? You can never have too much Taylor -_-). MAYBE SHE IS. MAYBE SHE ISN'T. You can have enough Taylor, especially when most of the songs sound the same! I adore Who's That Chick, Oh No! and Happiness, nothing else is really standing out to me so far. Joe's album is underrated, I like it but I guess it's pretty forgettable. I must have played it 10 times now and I still can't remember the name of the song I really like on it. Despite loving all of the singles, I still haven't got round to listening to Example's album. LMFAO. Yeah, I was struggling to name my favourites off Joe's album, as they all sort of blend into one. You'll probably like Example's album, there's a few duff tracks but it's still a decent output. :) This statement upsets my greatly. But the songs in this section are all good so no worries Why does it upset you!? 'Satellite' is good (I purchased it!), but it's very overrated. :P Thanks for the comments! ^_^

David Guetta's second (and last) entry is at #52, this time featuring Black Eyed Peas star Fergie, his longtime collaborator Chris Willis and someone else that imputs a rubbish verse. But less about that. This was one of my favourite songs off the original album, so when it was remixed with Fergie, I was bound to love it! It was one of my favourite dance songs this Summer and one of my favourite Guetta songs! Mark Ronson and his new band just miss out on the top fifty here! The infectous 'Bang Bang Bang' was another Summer hit for me that I loved since first listen. It was nice to see him working with lesser known artists, but when I heard the second single I was praying for him to get back to Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen! Kicking off the top fifty is Jason DeRülo and his first of two entries. 'What If' is a beautiful ballad, that was a bit of a slow-burner for me. When I first heard it announced as a single, I wanted 'The Sky's The Limit', but it eventually grew on me, and the stunning video to it sealed the deal! He is another artist who I expect great things from in the future! And at #49 we have everyone's favourite overrated bitch. 'Alejandro' was claimed song as the Summer by many loons, but it's not even my favourite track of Lady GaGa's! 'Alejandro' became the first GaGa single to miss the top spot in my chart (and after an incredibly disappointing video, it's not hard to see why!). It's a good song and all, and I love the remixes, but I can't stand how people hype her up so much. She has another entry further up the chart though.
