April 30, 201312 yr This episode was good, but I found it tried to cram too much into 45 minutes. I agree with whoever said it seemed a little bit too complex and hard to follow at times. Its a shame as I thought the concept was great and I really like how we finally had the spotlight on the TARDIS for a change and the supporting characters were very strong, not quite as good as last week overall (which I really enjoyed, as I'm sure you were all on tenterhooks to know) This looks....OK, I'll wait and see but its really the Cybermen episode that I'm waiting for atm.
April 30, 201312 yr I really liked this week's episode too, although again I felt that it didn't quite deliver. It's hard to pinpoint why though - perhaps I'm just expecting too much from Doctor Who these days. I MUCH prefer complex ridiculousness like the last couple of episodes over the rather simple plots of the ones that came before. (Probably why Series 6 is one of my favourites.) I like that Clara has found out the Doctor's real name - even if she has now forgotten it again.
April 30, 201312 yr Author Moderately large Clara spoiler from JLC: “All I can say is that Clara hasn’t just met the Doctor three times before…” http://doctorwhotv.co.uk/coleman-drops-fin...hints-48355.htm
April 30, 201312 yr I'm really intrigued to see where Moffat has been planting her throughout the series.

May 3, 201312 yr Just watched the last episode. Personally I thought it was extremely messy and chaotic and not in the good way......and the storyline itself wasn't particularly interesting. The main plotline seems to be going nowhere apart from the doctor orgasming over Clara's existence in each episode. 1. The Angels Take Manhattan 2. Hide 3. The Snowmen 4. Asylum Of The Daleks 5. A Town Called Mercy 6. The Rings of Akhaten 7. Cold War 8. The Bells of Saint John 9. Journey to the center of the TARDIS 10. The Power Of Three 11. Dinosaurs On A Spaceship Was expecting a lot more from this episode. :( Next week sounds very interesting though! I'm starting to wonder if maybe it's time for the 12th doctor? May 3, 201312 yr The main plotline seems to be going nowhere apart from the doctor orgasming over Clara's existence in each episode. I completely agree with you there. It seems as if, this half of the series, the writers are putting Clara's mystery before any story they have planned for their script. She takes centre stage in all of the episodes, and it derails stories, and has them leading up to things, only for it to get muddled up or go nowhere, and end with the Doctor complicating his mind or confusing himself with who Clara could be, or what she could be. Anyway, a prequel for The Name of the Doctor has been confirmed. It's called He Said, She Said, and will be available to watch online/on Red Button after Nightmare in Silver has aired.
May 4, 201312 yr Absolutely loved that episode. It started off a bit too slow, but it really picked up towards the end. Although the flashback was very long, it obviously helped explain a few events that occurred in the story, and I liked that. I felt really sympathetic for Ada throughout the episode - and was glad at the end when she did not forgive Winifred, and destroyed Mr Sweet. BUT... The ending of that episode! :o WOW. That was completely unexpected, and really like that Angie and Artie have discovered Clara's time-travelling secret. 9/10 from me. 1. Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS 2. The Snowmen 3. Hide 4. The Power of Three 5. The Bells of Saint John 6. The Crimson Horror 7. The Angels Take Manhattan 8. The Rings of Akhaten 9. Cold War 10. A Town Called Mercy 11. Asylum of the Daleks 12. Dinosaurs on a Spaceship
May 4, 201312 yr Hrm, the second half was fantastic but the first half was very very dull IMO. I don't think the "Vastra/Strax/Jenny solving a mystery without the Doctor present" idea really worked, so I can see where you're coming from there.
May 4, 201312 yr That was a dull 45 minutes of my life, mind you it did make me jump at one point and spilled my tea over me. One good thing Diana Rigg was excellent as a villian of the piece.
May 4, 201312 yr Now THAT was a great episode. Easily my favourite of the series. No singing or 'love' theme to resolve the plot, no overcomplicated plot with a quick and easy resolution so I feel cheated, Clara's story actually going somewhere. Strax/Vastra/Jenny all being amazing. I quite like Jenny going undercover and the Doctor and Clara taking their time to appear as it felt all more fresh. The villains were evil for a change which was delightful. Cheesy at times but that's Doctor Who. Great ending and next week looks good too.
May 4, 201312 yr Nightmare in Silver really does look fantastic! Hopefully the last two episodes will send the series out on a big high. :D
May 4, 201312 yr Author I can only agree that the it was fantastic, but the second half totally trumped the first. Whilst I found the Vastra/Jenny/Strax story amusing, there wasn't enough material to occupy them for half of the episode - the flashback could've been dealt with beforehand, but after both of those parts were out of the way it worked very well. Great additions to Clara's story too (although it's odd that she'd been dropped back home in the first place). I'm really looking forward to next week's episode - it looks like a lot of fun!

I think we're supposed to be under the impression that Clara has been leaving with the Doctor for an adventure, and then being dropped back home to see Angie and Artie, etc.
May 4, 201312 yr Author I think we're supposed to be under the impression that Clara has been leaving with the Doctor for an adventure, and then being dropped back home to see Angie and Artie, etc. Well I guess so, and Moffat did that with Amy and Rory as well, but I don't think it's necessary - Rose, Martha and Donna managed to go on long chains of adventures and then returned home the day after leaving, so I don't see why the format had to be changed regarding that.

I suppose it all depends on their story. Amy and Rory only started to ask to be dropped back home because they had become fond of real life, and were growing apart from life with the Doctor. Clara has children to look after, and it seems she knows that's where her loyalties lie, and likes travelling with the Doctor on the side.
May 4, 201312 yr love the supporting cast, enjoying the Clara dead again plotline mystery, Mrs Peel & daughter e by gum whats not to like. Matt's Frankenstein monster impression was hilarious
May 4, 201312 yr And a nice little joke having Thomas Thomas (TomTom) as a navigation device I like how Strax's comedy was minimal in this episode, and didn't take up such a large quantity of the episode, like in The Snowmen with the memory worm.
