Posted December 30, 201014 yr Following from the underperforming artists of 2010 thread, who do you think will be the successes and flops of 2011? I've not been in the upcoming releases thread, so I have a small list of artists I know of: Leona Lewis (hmm, not sure, could go either way for Leona) Amy Whinehouse, (can't wait, and hoping for another spectacular album) Adele (looking forward to this, and I think it will be massive) Will Young (can't wait to hear his new sound. I'd expect reasonable sales again considering his good sized loyal fanbase) Matt Cardle (I think he will do very well with his first album, around a million sales in the first month) Joe McElderry (Unfortunately I doubt he will do well)
December 30, 201014 yr Isnt Lady Gaga, Beyonce  and Britney Spears all releasing in 2011? :o Leona Lewis will have a huge era i predict. Adele will also have a big era with '21'. Amy Winehouse? :o :o Edited December 30, 201014 yr by Karma
December 30, 201014 yr Britney Spears will either flop massively or make a massive comeback. A massive comeback is more likely to happen considering how successful she's been. Her new single is called "Hold It Against Me" and will premiere on US radio on January 7. Her new album will be out in March 2011. The song is produced by Dr Luke and Max Martin, who produced "California Gurls" and "Dynamite" Full report: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a29...-next-week.html
December 30, 201014 yr Can't wait to her the new gaga song. It could air new years eve. She has said there will be some big announcement around then about the song. Will be interesting to hear Britneys new stuff.
December 30, 201014 yr GaGa will be huge, Britney will do well. Adele looks set to have a good era and no doubt Bruno Mars will carry on where he left off 2010. Hope Amy Winehouse gets herself together to do some decent stuff, could do well.
December 30, 201014 yr Didnt realise we could be hearing Britney & Gaga so soon, will Gaga overshadow Britney? They probably will both be pretty big i think.
December 30, 201014 yr Will do well: Lady GaGa Britney Spears Adele Bruno Mars Could go either way: Amy Winehouse Will Young Leona Lewis Jessie J The Vaccines James Blake Avril Lavigne Who else is releasing?
December 30, 201014 yr Britney will flop as people will start to tire of her sordid stories plus there is a lot of rumours going around about her.
December 30, 201014 yr Jennifer Lopez is coming back, but apparantly at the same time as Britney and Gaga :( so will probably flop.
December 30, 201014 yr To be honest, I'm not very optimistic about next year and the quality of music. It'll probably be worse than this year's, and it will probably be like April-June (quality-wise) of this year, most of year in 2011 :(
December 30, 201014 yr Coldplay are releasing new stuff, so hopefully Top 10 or another number 1 for them if released properly. Foo Fighters have confirmed a new album for 2011 Edited December 30, 201014 yr by GAV
December 30, 201014 yr Coldplay new album in 2011. The Strokes, blink-182 also definitely releasing next year. Expect all 3 to do well(ish).
December 30, 201014 yr Jennifer Lopez is coming back, but apparantly at the same time as Britney and Gaga :( so will probably flop. I doubt J.Lo will ever do well again unfortunately.
December 30, 201014 yr To be honest, I'm not very optimistic about next year and the quality of music. It'll probably be worse than this year's, and it will probably be like April-June (quality-wise) of this year, most of year in 2011 :( April-June were very good imo. Ferbruary was the absolutely dreadful month this year. And November/December had a LOT of tracks I hated in the chart too, although there were lots I loved to make up for it, whilst in Ferbruary there simply wasn't much that I liked. I'm not really sure what 2011 has in-store for us, to be honest, but on 30th December 2009, I would never have dreamt that I'd hear a song like Airplanes the following year, so we never know! :)
December 30, 201014 yr Coldplay back next year- hopefully another huge number 1 album and maybe even a number 1 single     Britney, Gaga and Beyonce should all do well, Adele will probably also do well off the back of the mini revival of MYFML,and maybe Amy Winehouse, although hopefully not :puke: Leona needs different material for single release, an upbeat song most likely, another ballad or cover would just be Cowell taking the p*** would be great for the Foos to get a top 10 single, but their not really that kind of act :(
December 30, 201014 yr LOL @ people saying that Britney will flop. Britney will do well, this era will be huge, better than Circus era and Blackout era! Just watch it! $$$
December 30, 201014 yr will Gaga overshadow Britney? Probably, but I think Rihanna will already overshadow her before Gaga's comes out. Britney is one of those acts who are expected to do well until the end of time due to her name alone but pretty sure most people moved onto the more current ladies by now and Britney is already just riding Katy Perry's and Ke$ha's sound with Martin and Luke.
December 30, 201014 yr Avril Lavigne could go either way, depends how good 'What The Hell is' I for one am looking forward to hearing it
