January 3, 201114 yr Author Eh? Katy Perry's boobies aren't that hard to miss tbf :0 No wonder we haven't seen Russell Brand about for a while!
January 3, 201114 yr From a style point of view, Rihanna's the most trend setting out of them all I'd say in a fashion sense - literally every girl where I work aged between 16-25 (no exaggeration - I mean every girl and there must be 50 or more in this bracket) has dyed their hair red in the last couple of months!
January 3, 201114 yr rihanna right now but gaga is a close second. plus gaga seems to take herself way too seriously sometimes whereas rihanna seems to not really care and seems really down to earth
January 3, 201114 yr Lady Gaga, even though I don't really love her. But in the last two years she's easily shat over anything the others have put out. That said, I hate Poker Face and about half of The Fame, although Bad Romance and most of the Fame Monster is pretty damn great. Rihanna seems to have turned into new Britney and is now increasingly inconsistent (though I seem to be largely alone in this thinking!) so whatever. Katy Perry is consistently $h!t, and remains completely disposable in the pop landscape. Only this bloody site would put her on the same level as the other two!

January 3, 201114 yr I'm gonna go with Katy, out of the three, she's the only one who doesn't take her music too seriously and when you're doing pop music, why take it seriously? Maybe if Gaga wasn't trying so hard to be inventive (when to me she comes across as a copycat to a wider range of artists) and Rihanna is simply an artist who was recording her album at the right time (see "Umbrella").
January 3, 201114 yr Rihanna seems to have turned into new Britney and is now increasingly inconsistent (though I seem to be largely alone in this thinking!) so whatever. I think that aswell! But that's more in my personal taste rather than public opinion.
January 3, 201114 yr I really didnt want to vote for any of them to be honest, as horribly overhyped as all three are on this site. I went for Lady GaGa in the end, I enjoy the music more and *some* of the hype may actually be deserved. I did use to adore Rihanna, but 'Loud' for me is a p***-poor album with very few tracks I liked. 'Teenage Dream' is equally a good album but god allmighty it isnt even close to being one of the best of the year.
January 3, 201114 yr 1. Rihanna 2. Katy Perry 3. Lady Gaga Rihanna is absolutely incredible. She does great RnB songs. She does great pop songs. She does great dance songs. She does great hip hop songs. For years and years she keeps releasing these awesome songs which I love. There's been a few I don't like, but I can say that for every artist in the charts. Live Your Life, in particular, is one of my favourite songs of all time, and I can't imagine Lady Gaga or Katy Perry ever being on a song like that. Katy Perry is good. There's some of her songs I find pretty dire, such as I Kissed a Girl and Teenage Dream, but there's other that literally make me explode in awe of their awesomeness, such as Hot N Cold and Firework. Lady Gaga hasn't really done many songs I like. Chillin', Video Phone, Alejandro, err.... I think that's it. I find most of her singles sound the same as each other, and they're very dated. I find Gaga very overrated to be honest. Probably the most overrated artist in my memory.
January 3, 201114 yr Prepares yourselves for an essay. I'm ruling out Katy Perry straight away; she's not exactly the strongest live singer - her performance of 'Firework' on The X Factor was vocally a warped record. Pitchy!!! :( However, tracks like 'Hot N Cold' are pop gold but ultimately I don't think Katy Perry should do ballads. 'Thinking Of You' was a bit...ho-hum. At least Katy has proved that your second album can be successful with the right lead single. Which leaves Lady GaGa and Rihanna: Lady GaGa had the biggest impact on my chart in 2009. Whether GaGa will continue to release great tracks in 4 years time is left to be seen. However, if I ranked every one of these girls' singles in order of fave, 'Bad Romance' would definitely be the overall winner. Unlike Katy Perry, Lady GaGa has the vocal ability to pull off a ballad. Her performance of 'Speechless' at 2009's Royal Variety Performance proved this. However, I'm edging towards Rihanna because she's stood the test of time, reinvented herself and most suprisingly has developed into a really good live singer. I even found myself appreciating 'Unfaithful' a lot more after her performance with Matt Cardle on X Factor. She sounded much better singing the track than I remembered in 2006. I'm surprised Matt didn't forget the words in a Roger Rabbit style " :o " after she walked on stage. As for the music itself, I made a comment a few months back saying how a Rihanna greatest hits compilation would be the perfect soundtrack to any party. So taking everything into account (urgh, I sound like Simon Cowell now :drama: ) I vote for Rihanna.
January 3, 201114 yr Lady Gaga's music whilst not 'inspiring' and 'life changing' like is claimed by some, have made some truly excellent pop songs, her songs easily stand as some of the best of that year- and I genuinely think they could stand the test of time and become classics Rihanna is a great artist though, but I personally get sick of her songs because I hear them everywhere :( although she stands out in her genre I accept that and has done some solid gold pop songs Katy Perry is very much behind the two of them as this polls shows - she hasn't been around long enough and although she has done some great songs, some are rather novelty and whilst its fun, its not exactly credible, plus she needs to work on her live singing so based on who I like imo, I vote Lady Gaga, Rihanna though is a good artist in that genre, which tbh I'm not always keen on Edited January 3, 201114 yr by chart wizard

So taking everything into account (urgh, I sound like Simon Cowell now :drama: ) I vote for Rihanna. I used to say that she doesn't need a greatest hits, just put Good Girl Gone Bad on instead, but she's proved that she's much more than just that album/era during 2009/2010 and what Rihanna hits album would be complete without Russian Roulette, Rude Boy, Love The Way You Lie, Only Girl (In The World) and What's My Name? :o So many artists have one huge peak era that makes them a bonafide superstar (Christina Aguilera anyone?) and ride on the coattails of that album for years after despite releasing constantly more inferior music than before. But Rihanna's already topped that album with Loud imo!
January 3, 201114 yr Author I admit I am surprised at how good Loud is overall - as you say Rich she could well have peaked twice!
