Grenade number 1 :D when I saw it not top 300 after it was released I thought a surprise may happen- and then it shot up like a rocket

I do prefer JTWYA so far, but I'm still glad we're finally getting some new hits make an impact

Yeah, the chart was pretty boring last week. Just spent the whole week wondering if Tinie, Rihanna or Nero would get in the top 10. It's a shame none of them did. Jessie J's pop bar doubled in a matter of hours once she got into the top 10.
Yeah, that would be interesting. If X Factor was shown on Friday evenings, I could possibly imagine something like that happening. For a song to do that it'd need some massive promotion to happen in the weekend, and the X Factor is the only thing I can think of that can promote a song so well in a short period of time.

I remember Bruno Mars's lead went absolutely massive after the song was performed on the X Factor by Matt, but he'd already been #1 on iTunes most of the week anyway, but his pop bar did increase by like 50%! :o

I know what you mean by that - his pop bar doubled in size - but technically that means it increased by 100% (sorry to be pedantic ).

Really ? I can't seem to get away from it, although a lot of the time I hear it is on music channels

That's odd - I virtually *only* hear music via ther Sky music channels, yet I don't recall hearing it offhand...

Eugh, Bruno Mars again :puke2:

I want Jessie amazing J to be #1 :(

Yes, it'd be such a change to have something urban at #1...

Sales aren't low anyone in January :D

Good for Bruno Mars!

Overall they are OK, but the top of the charts gains little from the iTunes effect, and the lack of new releases hurts too.

 That's okay! I knew it increased by much more than 50%, but I couldn't remember exactly by how much, so I just made a conservative estimate. That was insane though. I think a lot of people were annoyed that he knocked Barbra Streisand down to #3 in the last few hours of the week.

Yeah, didn't he get about 15,000 sales in just 2 or 3 hours from 9pm/10pm to midnight Saturday?! :o

Grenade #1 :w00t: How big is his lead? I'm assuming its huge right now.

I don't think it was boring at all. Maybe if you only pay attention to the top 10, but there was lots of movement going on elsewhere (and it was unpredictable movement, too, rather than just new entries climbing and then stalling - which IS boring).

This week looks like it's going to be dull though, unless maybe some of the other new-ish songs keep climbing :(

Does anybody know where 'The Beach Girl5 - Scratch' is on the iTunes chart?

Not top 1000 yet.

Huge lead for Bruno already. He should sell 100k at least, I think.

I'm happy that Matt isn't dive-bombing like the winner's single usually does around now.

wheres jodie conner?

She's been deleted, apparently. I think it's release date is next Sunday now.

I wonder if the pre-orders will get it to chart top 200 this week though.
