:manson: @ Make You Feel My Love. Seriously, it's OK, but it's WAY overplayed and overpopular now, and it's going to damage the chance of success for her new song...
Oh christ I forgot about Glee tomorrow! "Empire State of Mind" seems likely, I'd expect their Britney covers to be pretty big but then again the Madonna tracks underperformed.

I think the Madonna tracks underperformed because they released an album or EP or something of them the same week, so a lot of people just bought the entire lot of them, so the Madonna tracks charted on cherry-picking only, in a way. I think Like a Prayer could've outpeaked Halo/Walking On Sunshine and Total Eclipse of the Heart if it wasn't for that.

I actually laughed out loud when I saw that Make You Feel My Love had climbed so high again. That song will NEVER go away!+
Ugh, just when I thought Adele had finally almost left the Top 40 - it rises to the Top 5 AGAIN! I loved this song two years ago

Wow at Make You Feel my love, I sat there watching it thinking 'Oh god, i wonder how many people on buzzjack are going to oan about this' haha. How uch has it sold altogether? Must be quite a fair bit by now. :)

Also, I'm happy for bruno, but Jessie J definitely deserves it! :( Ahh well, hopefully she can rise.

Probably some of the worst and most arogant lyrics i've ever heard. I like Keri Hilson, what was she thinking? Knock You Down  Energy  but this? Nono.
This is the reason as to why she's written songs like this for her new album. It's about female empowerment and it's alright for them to feel beautiful and not be looked down on for doing so.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE f***ING KIDDING ME  ADELE has a lot to be thankful for. Had it not been for the MYFML resurrection, she most certainly wouldn't do as well as people predict with 'Rolling In The Deep'. She's lucky she's been given so much exposure with that track.

Woo for Lemar and Kelly C though

 Hilarious that 'Make You Feel My Love' has boomed once again the week before her new single is set to come out! If one was a cynic you could be starting to think that this was all a brilliant marketing plan... :kink:

And oh dear, is Glee back this week? At least they might knock out a bit of deadwood while they're at it, I suppose.

I think she would have been big even without MYFM (for the new era)L. Is not like this song made her popular!

She would have done a Duffy/probably worse had it not been for 'Make You Feel My Love''s most recent exposure. I know I may be alone in thinking this, but she really is lucky.
No  They used the Gun version of 'Word Up' on DOI. Weird how people hear a song and download any version on iTunes they can find. Even the original by Cameo is on iTunes.

I didn't realize until I looked it up that the Gun version of 'Word Up' went top 10 back in '94. I'm glad it beat the peak of the terrible Mel G ft Timbaland cover version.

No way! Rolling In The Deep is just amazing to flop! Well Well Well was nothing comparing it to previous songs of Duffy. And don't forget that Duffy had an a debut that sold more than 2m. It's really difficult to come up with a second album as good as her debut (or better). A lot of acts with huge debuts, had their second albums with poor sales (Mika, James Blunt..). From the other Adele's 19 wasn't that big so if she give to her fans and potentially new fans a better or same material she can keep and increase her fanbase (Paolo Nutini, Lily Allen).

Tbh this thought doesn't escape me since its second or third revamp on TV...

So we are looking at 1 new entry this time next week and it could be the highest new entry at #1, unless 30 Secs and MCR make a splash inside the top 40 since Jodie Connor has been removed. I can't see other new releases making a mark unless an oddball track surfaces later in the week.

There are 5 singular Glee single releases this week (today, Monday) and I genuinely think 4 of them (ESOM, Telephone, Billionaire and Listen) will all crack at least the top 20 officially this week and I wouldn't be surprised if 2, 3 or even all 4 of that lot cracked (or came close to cracking) the top 10, particularly as the album isn't out for another 5 weeks.

NEW GLEE:

#364 'Telephone'

#444 'Empire State of Mind'

#628 'Listen'

#867 'What I Did For Love'

No 'Billionaire' ( :o ) yet... Respectable debuts though, imo.

What an incredible margin Bruno Mars has now - something like 3.25-1 - I don't think even Matt Cardle had *that* much of a lead!

I guess we know what'll be YTD #1, at least for a while...

BTW, I finally got round to Youtubing it - a bit too whiny for me, but at least it's better than the usual urban ballad fare.

I think that's over-estimating them a bit. ESOM might go to about #3 on iTunes and #8 or 9 officially but the rest have no chance at official top 10 IMO - Telephone and/or Billionaire could make the iTunes top 10 but they'll stall around #14 or lower a la It's My Life.

Listen and the other one probably low top 40 at best, but they could go top 20 on iTunes

That'd be more impressive if it weren't for the fact Rihanna had the lowest #1 sales week since Gettin' Over You...

But yeah, Grenade will be YTD #1 for a while but there'll probably be another mid-year release take over it like LTWYL, or like IGF nearly did.

I doubt this to be honest. Too many Glee fans have watched the episodes and got the songs already, through other means. If it had aired the same time as in the US, that could've happened.
