January 13, 201114 yr It doesn't exactly scream hit single but that doesn't mean it's not good. In fact it's very good and I'm looking forward to the album even more.
January 14, 201114 yr Amazing song but like Suedehead says not a hit. The most interesting question is can they finally have their first Top 10 single. #1 album is in the bag imo (depending on what other albums are around then of course. I bet Michael Buble will have another special edition by March lol) Edited January 14, 201114 yr by SKOB
January 14, 201114 yr I quite like it on first listen. I don't think it's a hit but I think it'll at least top 'Grounds for Divorce' chartwise. Album should be number one, released the same week as Avril Lavigne and R.E.M. and Beady Eye released the week before. Decent competition, but not competition that's likely to sell more than the follow up to 'The Seldom Seen Kid'.
January 14, 201114 yr Their first two albums were by far the best for me, sublime. The last one was pretty good though, so I do look forward to this. ^_^
January 17, 201114 yr Neat Little Rows is a grower, but it doesn't scream hit single. To be honest I don't think this will even go top 40, although the album will probably top the chart. Singles wise, they'll be hard pressed to beat 'Grounds For Divorce.'
January 17, 201114 yr I like the song on first listen, it was always going to be tough following up One Day Like This, but it probably won't do much chart wise, maybe top 40 if their lucky the album though should do better- will be interesting to hear it
January 17, 201114 yr one day like this only just went top 40 didnt it??? Three separate short runs (four weeks in total) with a peak of 35. I'm sure in years to come people will assume it was at least a top ten hit.
January 18, 201114 yr Maybe it will be one day? I have a fear that after 2010s effort, it's the type of song an X-Factor winner might cover to appear credible. :|
January 20, 201114 yr Im surprised Elbow are not bigger?! They make some great music! I'm hoping they will finally get a number one album with BARB and about time too.
February 21, 201114 yr Neat Little Rows the video. Love the song! The single should be out next Monday I think? -pYjCYNh-Kw
February 21, 201114 yr Every time I hear Neat Little Rows I love it even more. If the rest of the album matches it, it's going to be something special.
March 7, 201114 yr After as first listen the album is indeed brilliant. Open Arms sounded particularly good first time round.
March 7, 201114 yr Talking of Open Arms... http://www.nme.com/nme-video/elbow---open-...eo/813429430001
March 7, 201114 yr Just listening to "Open Arms" now actually. Very good follow-up to The Seldom Seen Kid, and it sounds especially good in this Spring sunshine we're having today in Devon. :D
March 7, 201114 yr Tssssk. I gambled on this being Amazon's mp3 album of the week so didn't buy it. Now I only have REM to listen to. :(
March 7, 201114 yr Excellent session with Elbow tonight on Mark Radcliffe & Stuart Maconie show. Very enjoyable listen. Adele permitting, it should give them a No.1 this week. Their last album raised their profile considerably.
March 8, 201114 yr Ruddy hell. I didn't think NLR would go top 40, but I didn't expect to see it miss the top 100 altogether. Hopefully the next single will do better. Anyway, Elbow for no.1.
