I think Britney will get to #1 on iTunes quite quickly when she is released but whether she'll hold it really depends. How much airplay is she already getting? She'll need something to keep her momentum. Nevertheless, I voted for her as I can see her opening up quite a substansial lead, which will decrease later on in the week but I still think the increasing airplay/exposure might be enough to hold off the competition on iTunes and give her the official #1 a week on Sunday.

Bruno Mars should come in at #2. He's looking at decent sales this week and the second week drop should still be enough to hold off Adele, who I don't think has enough singles market appeal to sell in those kind of numbers, but should be safe to enter at #3. Her album will definitely be #1 though as someone else already said.

Wretch 32 - I love the track but fear it's a bit too 'urban'-sounding compared to his contemparies to "do a Tinie" like some people are predicting. Probably somewhere between #4-15 (best to worst case scenario, so I'll pitch it somewhere in the middle). Would love to be proved wrong, obviously.

Full top 10 prediction, then:

01. Britney Spears

02. Bruno Mars

03. Adele

04. Jessie J

05. JLS

06. Rihanna

07. Wretch 32

08. David Guetta

09. Katy B

10. Diddy-Dirty Money

Anyone but Wretch32 :puke2:

Im not pleased to say Bruno Mars for a second week. Hope Britney is number 1 though.

Who is this wretch person who has apparently had massive hype. Must be living in a box. Same applies to people claiming adele has massive hype.

As long as Britney goes top 3 I will be CONTENT.

Not sure if she will hit #1.

I voted grenade, i believe that it could hit at least 100000 for a second week and i can't see britney selling that in 6 days so

1) Grenade

2) Hold It Against Me

3) Rolling In The Deep

5) Traktor

We will soon see how much the UK Loves Britney. I hope she flies up the itunes chart :D

Adele does have massive hype. 'Rolling In The Deep' has been getting lots of airplay, and she has the XF promotion, so Adele will be huge this era.

As for who will be #1, I think it could be close between Adele & Britney, unsure how Britney will do this early on, I don't know if the UK public will work the same way as everywhere else.

Jack you posted something to similar to this in another thread. I said that i have never heard the single and i listen to the radio a lot. They play " Make you feel my love" all the time. Could impact the single.

I think once Britney reaches the top 10 on itunes or is featured on the front page she will zoom to the top. people are always curious whenever Britney relaunches.

I love Wretch 32's song and I think it'll be no.2.

I think this week is going to be huge, sales wise.

01. Britney

02. Wretch 32

03. Bruno Mars

04. Jessie J

05. Adele

That's the top 5, I think.

I love Wretch 32's song and I think it'll be no.2.

What you love has no effect on the chart, sadly.

Wretch 32 is having very strong video play though (#15 last week, which is good for a song not in the charts - the highest of them all actually) but I'm not sure how much impact that has? Does anybody really watch these channels now?

And Adele has been getting good radio airplay, btw. She was #19 on the airplay chart the week before last but somehow disappeared completely last week which must be a mistake by the people who made it. But on CompareMyRadio.com she's currently #31 based on their tracking of the last 30 days (highest pre-release, too). Mind you I don't think CMR tracks every station but still.

Does anybody really watch these channels now?

Yes, Otherwise they wouldn't be on TV. I discovered Jessie J through a music channel channel the other day. I had never taken any notice of the crazy hype over her but wow I was shocked :) They do have an impact.

Surprised to hear Adele's new single getting a lot of airplay since I haven't heard it once or mentioned apart from this forum.

I do hope Britney hits #1, I'll be buying :)

Bruno has the best song... but Britney is Britney.

I think it will be no1 Britney and no2 Bruno (but it could be close)

I'm thinking Britney. The sheer force behind this single release will get it to #1.

I watch MTV!! I don't know, it's just a lot of time there's nothing else interesting on, so I just watch some music channels. It's cool on a lot of them, because they play live performances sometimes, and they do interviews with the artists and stuff, which can be interesting.

I like Compare My Radio too. You're right though, it doesn't track every radio station (infact, not even close), but looking at the data they've got for the radio stations I listen to most, they do seem very accurate. If I had to list what I think the 10 most played tracks on Capital FM are, I'd probably have listed almost the same as what CMR lists. However, one other criticism I have of the site is that I've often heard a "rare" (e.g. like when they play an album track) song being played on a radio station, then when I check the website a few days after, it's often not listed. So it seems they sometimes don't bother to create pages for a song that only gets played once, if it's like a one off thing. Also, I don't think it factors in audiences, so a play on Radio 1 means more than a play on, say Smooth FM in the airplay charts, whilst on Compare My Radio, they count for the same, I think, which may account for some discrepancy.

I'm surprised (well, actually no...) at how well people are expecting Britney to do. I am sure she will be top 5, probably top 3 but do you REALLY expect her to be #1? Off the back of little airplay compared to Adele and Bruno Mars which are both huge airplay hits? It is a little optimistic. I don't think she has the strength to get to #1, especially if she is releasing on a Monday, she will not have gained the momentum that the others have.

I can't see Britney beating Bruno Mars.

Avril should enter high, and the Glee Cast with their Britney covers but Britney will be number one which she wouldn't have been if they hadn't brought the date of the release forward
Bruno and Britney top 2. I fancy Britney to do it but not by much. Adele #5, she'll get the #1 album with over 100k when she releases. The other two lower top 10? Then again what else would be top 5? Jessie J probably, but will Rihanna still be outselling Adele (who I can see doing over 50k easily). It could well be 4 new ones and Bruno in the top 5.

I'm hoping Adele does it but Britney will probably get it. Gutted she has moved the release date forward so much. Adele is bound to get the number 1 album so I guess that is some consolation if Rolling In The Deep doesn't get to number 1.
