I think Bruno Mars will continue selling well next week so perhaps down to no. 2 but still with good sales.

It depends how flattering the iTunes popularity bars really are, since it seems unlikely that the #2 or below will exceed 50k this week

I'm hoping Adele does it but Britney will probably get it.

IMO Adele doesn't have a prayer - how many (non-XF) MOR singles ever get to #1 nowadays...

So as Britney has brought her release forward to the already big week

BTW, how do you know this - I've seen absolutely nothing to confirm it?

I made a guestimate that 'Grenade' is likely to sell 110k this week. That was purely based on Rihanna's pop bars for 'WMN'. She sold 53k last week and is unlikely to increase sales now. So Bruno Mars was just over double her pop bars earlier in the week (maybe the lead has increased since). The singles last year that sold over 100k+ (so not counting Matt Cardle) decreased to around 80-90k in their second week on the chart.

I think britney will be #1 on itunes just hours after release, probably setting record for the fastest climb to #1.

i would think britney spears will be number one since it her first single since 2009

kesha's last 3 songs didn't make the top 10 and i thought those records were good, so i don't see why WRWWR should be any different

bruno mars will probably be at two

adele will probably debut in the top 10 after the success of make you feel my love

and as for that rap sh*t, defenetly not!!!

hopefully Britney for number 1....

she hasn't scored a number 1 since a long time....

Wretch 32.

He's just another British rapper, but Traktor is actually an amazing song IMO :P

I don't think many people even know it'll be released at midnight tomorrow, let alone enough flocking to iTunes at that time specifically to buy it

Also the record for the fastest climb to #1 can't be beaten. Matt Cardle entered at #1. Okay, it was heavily aided by iTunes pre-orders which were available right from the start of the series, but still.

What a bizarre argument. Gimme More was her first single since 2005 and that only got to #3.

Ke$ha's last 3 singles were all already available on her album. We R Who We R is not.

I don't know if you meant it but this looks like a prediction based on opinion. :P

Britney will definately be #1 but I am not sure it will be next week. Bruno or Ke$ha me thinks. I just don't think HIAM has had enough time to build up airplay etc yet, it'd surely be performing on word of mouth that it's been released? I'm unsure :/ It should certainly be top 5 though.

If we were to judge it on the Irish charts, it goes like this so faar:

1. Britney

2. Grenade

3. Adele

4. What's my Name?

5. Coming Home

...

8. We R Who We R

11. Like You Like (Aggro)

Wretch 32 isn't in it.... Now, If Adele can reach #3 in Ireland with very little promotion, I think it'll be against Britney and Adele - I think Aggro will be 6 or 7 and Coming Home could get top 5!! Exciting week ahead!!

Pass Out was an Irish flop until a few weeks after it got to #1 in the UK as well - Irish success is a good indicator of most things but not UK rappers' début singles. (After Tinie made a name for himself in Ireland, Frisky and Written In The Stars both did well straight away)

Maybe Aggro could do well based on that though :o

Also, We R Who We R has been out for ages in Ireland, it was added in Ireland before it was added in the USA IIRC, also it's been pushed back yet another week in the UK

Sorry if this is stupid question, but do you get Radio 1 in Ireland? Radio 1 are responsible for like 90% of Wretch 32's promotion at the moment (although this will change once he gets into the charts), so if you don't get Radio 1 Wretch will probably do a lot better in the UK, but if you do get Radio 1, it doesn't look promising for him. :(

Yeah, Ke$ha's been around far too long - She's been at #10 for the past 2 weeks - Can't see her rising any higher, TBH :/

I take back what I posted earlier. The Britney episode of Glee will air on Monday... Could have a small effect on the new song.

I would say Adele has had quite a lot of hype (no where near that of Britney, but more than I have noticed for Grenade), plus she is more popular than ever right now. I haven't met a single person who has heard RITD and not liked it. People who are just casual music listeners won't know Britney's song and her UK popularity has been wavering, where as Adele has done a lot more promo with Royal Variety and all the magazine and newspaper interviews she has been doing.

I want Hold It Against Me to get to number 1 since it has AGES since she had one here and it is a great song, just not in Adele's week, I can't see any of Adele's other singles from this album having a chance at number 1 since she is more of an album seller.

I don't know what everyone is smoking. Britney won't be number one (or even top five possibly - maybe in a few weeks).

01. Bruno Mars

02. Adele

03. Jessie J
