Everyone is ripping off Im Not Alone

I listened to that song today, at the time I didn't fully appreciate it but I think it's really incredible! Does anyone know whether Calvin Harris is working on a new album?

I tweeted the producer of Eyes Wide Shut about it and his response was:

"yes no doubt its inspired by that stabby synth vibe but I haven't used any of his melodies or chord progressions"

Not as bad as 'Love You More' - but still not very good from JLS.

Your JLS taste is so different to everybody else's, I mean you were the ONLY one who liked The Club Is Alive, and the only one who doesn't like this :heehee:

Like A G6 is getting old now :(
to me the new JLS song at the begining sounds like a speeded up angel of mine by eternal

I'll need to listen to that, but that would be like the 7th song it sounds like. :D

All this is a bit worrying though, that the JLS song is one of the best in the top 20.

And yeah, I'm Not Alone is awesome. Why couldn't that song have gotten the same airplay as Forget You. :( Oh, I forgot, I'm Not Alone is too interesting. :(

The Los Angeles-based hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas has made a name for itself by taking an eclectic and organic approach to rap, R&B, and funk. Led by vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Will.I.Am., the band also includes two other MCs, Apl.de.Ap. and Taboo, along with vocalist Fergie, and a live backing band. Building a steady buzz with its first two releases, Black Eyed Peas garnered mainstream attention with the 2003 album, ELEPHUNK, which launched Fergie's solo career and helped make Will.I.Am one of the most in-demand producers in hip-hop, pop, and R&B for several years to come. - HMV

God people go on like Calvin invented trance recently what with Chris Brown and JLS comparisons. What about this top 40 hit from 2002 (and my holiday anthem from that year no less :funky:)

Same stabby synths, 9 years ago, 7 years before I'm Not Alone...

JLS RATE:

1. Eyes Wide Shut

2. One Shot

3. Love You More

4. Beat Again

5. The Club Is Alive

6. Everybody In Love

(30) Kanye West/Jay-Z-H*A*M

This is kinda of dissapointing from these 2 rap icons. I thought it would more upbeat but nope

3-8 :drama: Biggish drop for BEP

This has been a disastrous era for them (although they did still get a high-selling #1 in the UK, it's pretty much been dreadful in every other aspect). Hopefully they can become superpowers again on album 7 (!)

I love The Time (Dirty Bit)

I know ALL the words to it

My JLS rate;

1. Eyes Wide Shut

2. One Shot

--------------

3. Love You More :cheer:

4. Everybody In Love :D :D

5. Beat Again :D

--------------

6. The Club Is Alive :puke:

2 I love, 3 I like a lot, and one I'd be happy never to hear again

I think the chord progressions are different, actually, although that section of the melody and the instruments used are, like, almost the same.

Calvin Harris tweeted about the song too a while ago.

And gooddelta has a point. It's like how people whined about Diana Vickers "copying" RHCP, when they also "ripped off" another song in Under the Bridge... I have nothing against songs sounding similar at all, but it's just hypocritical.

The Time is never going to get old for me, the way it's going. Absolutely fantastic!

The Time  Has this sold 500K yet?

Disastrous?

The Time will probably sell 600k (almost 500k so far) and their album is on 300k (which is ok). Not disastrous, but not what you'd think from BEPs.

Their next album will be epic, I think.
