Grenade only took a couple of hours to get to number 1. It's nearly been a day and it's not top 10.

Grenade has also had two months of airplay, videoplay, marketing and was released prior to a hyped debut album and quickly following up a mega smash hit single.

Yes top 10 finally ! Now fly higher ! The gap between 10-4 is not that BIG !

But yeah, Britney is doing nowhere near as well as Grenade so far... Which is a shame, since it's a more interesting, and better, song imo. :(

Exactly, and 'Grenade' had a ton of pre-orders too.

I really don't think Grenade and Hold It Against Me can be compared.

I didn't think Britney could go #1, but I hoped for top 3 at least. I'd be very disappointed if this song only debuts in the top 10. Anyway, I do hope it could go #1 in the future, but it seems to be struggling a bit on iTunes. I'll admit the song isn't that great but I still wanted her to do well.

This is a problem for me, ever since "Toxic" has been released everyone (including Jive) has wanted a "Toxic 2". You got "Radar" and "Womanizer", let's move on artistically.

There is huge hype behind it though.

 

lol. I take it you don't know many teenage girls then. :lol: There was probably more hype for Grenade than this song (although Grenade was known for ages whilst this Britney song wasn't, so maybe it seems like more hype since it lasted a couple of months, whilst this hype only lasted a week).

 

Okay, let's settle this once and for all:

 

Hold It Against Me>>>>>>>>>Grenade but Grenade has performed better chart-wize, so far.

 

Both got to #1 in the US. It's not like they're both failures. I doubt they care in the slightest where they chart here (although they'll probably pretend to care so they don't look cocky :lol:).

 

Also, Toxic is up to #44! :o

Britney probably enter the chart top 15-ish or the lower end of the top 10 tomorrow, she has lost a day, plus iTunes fuck up of her track all day. Its a bit late to charge in top 5.

 

Personally I can't see it at #1 with Bruno's album out as well, he be aiming for the double next Sunday. At most I think Britney will peak at #3/#4 by the end of the week.

Didn't like Radar. Loved Womanizer, but its chart performance was undoubtedly ruined by her disastrous X Factor performance.

I didn't like Womanizer much tbh. :( I dunno. The beat wasn't that good, and even with the vocals, it just didn't improve much. It was close to monotone. :lol:

 

Hold It Against Me has an INSANE beat. It's so good! It makes you wanna go and rave at the end! :lol:
