I dunno. :lol: I'm just quite liberal with crediting like that. Like when asked to list Lady Gaga songs, I'd list Chillin', when asked to list Beyonce songs, I'd list Telephone, and so on. The fact that Part II is album only is something which deeply devastates me, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still a song. Plus, I listen to Part II more, so when I think of Airplanes, that's the version I immediately think of.

 

To sum up, Eminem raps on a song called Airplanes, Part II, Hayley Williams sings the hook, and Airplanes is liked on Buzzjack.

 

If Soulja Boy did a rap verse on Empire State of Mind, Part II, and it was album only, I'd be doing the same. :lol: Even though it's not technically correct.

 

That said, I do remember being in a discussion on here where it was me telling someone else they shouldn't be crediting Eminem on Airplanes. I think it was on one of the Almost Saturday Chart threads.

See, if someone said "List your favourite Kanye West songs", I'd probably mention Alors on danse.

 

But yeah, I get your point. Plus, it could be misleading and confusing to other people, who might not know about Part II, etc. if I call Airplanes an "Eminem song", to be fair.

At #04 is our last entry with male vocals on it. 'Love The Way You Lie' was the biggest selling song of the year, selling over 800,000 copies despite peaking at #02 and nearly going on to selling a million in total! The song produced by Alex Da Kid who is also responsible for such smashes as 'Airplanes' and 'Coming Home' stormed up the chart when released onto iTunes along with the rest of Eminem's album 'Recovery', and was soon made a single. I used to think 'Airplanes' was the better song, but I think this has better lyrics, more personality and the chorus is now pretty anthemic imo. Despite it's severe overplayment, I haven't gotten completely bored of it but at the same time, it's nowhere near the best song of 2010 imo.

The third of Katy's entries, and also the third single from her sophomore album 'Teenage Dream'. Katy stormed up iTunes when she performed the song on X Factor in the UK, with it eventually peaking at #03 due to the brilliant video and song, despite some tacky songs, no Katy, no-one has ever felt like a plastic bag. It went on to be a huge success for Katy, selling nearly 400,000 copies in the UK. I personally thought 'California Gurls' and 'Teenage Dream' were far superior, this was still okay but I dunno ... it feels like it's missing something. Still a great song though.

California Gurls was really the only decent song off Teenage Dream imo, I really don't get the enormous love for Firework, I was actually expecting it to win

I really don't get the fuss about Firework. Prefer Teenage Dream and California Gurls

Not surprised about #3 and #4, and not surprised about the top 2 either. :lol:

 

I LOVE Love the Way You Lie, although I agree Airplanes was better, but Airplanes is better than every other 2010 song (in my opinion). :lol:

 

Firework is fantastic! I love it so much. :wub: I can't decide whether Firework or Hot N Cold are my favourite Katy Perry songs, tbh.

I don't get why these three songs are always so high up in countdowns like this on here! All three artists have far better material in their catalogues, that don't get enough praise, compared to these three. (Both Katy and Rihanna have released better this year in fact - 'Telephone' is better (by a margin) than 'Alejandro' - which have come down pretty low in this countdown itself! :()

 

Ah well. Predictably top 5 none-the-less. Although I think I'd prefer it if you swapped GaGa & Beyoyo for Katy Perry, then turned the top 6 on it's head :lol:

I don't care either way, neither are anything approaching either artist's best :drama:

I hope it's 'Telephone' at #1, as Beyoncé clearly makes the song. :kink:

Telephone is one of Gaga's better songs anyway, so I wouldn't mind too much if it won tbh.

It is quite weird, because I hate California Gurls. Teenage Dream and Firework are 1,000,000 times better. I pray that Telephone wins. I find Only Girl really annoying. It makes be cringe. Telephone is :wub: My favourite song was Starry Eyed though.

Firework :( My fave song of the year, wanted it to win :wub: Shockingly, the top 3 are my top 3 of the year in a mixed up order :o :o :o My top 3 is:

1. Firework

2. Only Girl

3. Telephone

 

So either song will make a great winner :wub: Shocking to see Marina so high :o Glad WMN and LTWYL did well, two of my top 10 of 2010 :)
