Oh god, can't believe Champion looks like it could get a week!

Literally cannot stand the song, although I guess its an improvement on Oopsy Daisy imo :puke2:

Such a shame, I was hoping it would be a while before we got a non #1 in 2011

Maybe one time we'll get another year with *mostly* great number ones a la 2005-2008

I really liked Oopsy Daisy!!

And, to be fair, it probably will be a non-#1. All the non-#1s from last year were by British artists, apart from Beautiful Monster, and Chipmunk is British, so it'd make sense for him to follow the trend.

However, look at a songs such as Pass Out. That debuted at #1, but pretty much defines non-non-#1. I did not have a clue it would be the iconic song of 2010 when it was released.

We don't know if Champion will be a non-#1 yet, or even if it'll get to #1 :P Give it some time

We R Who We R looks like it could turn out to be a non-#1 (although one with high first-week sales, or second week to be accurate)

Hardly a none number one if it's sold two weeks well?

'Champion' would be so much better if Chris Brown didn't sound like his vocals were being pitch bent all over the place when he attempts those awkward vocal gymnastics of his. He isn't Christina Aguilera/Mariah Carey/Celine Dion so should avoid singing like he thinks he's a diva. :(

Yeah, I guess it will, I would much rather Jessie had 2 weeks than have Chipmunk and Chris Brown get a week with a song that would be lucky (imo) to reach the Year End Top 40 :(

And I'd add In My Head and Gettin Over You to the list of non-#1s from last year, although I guess its what you define as a non-#1 really B)

I think that champion might not make top 2, I think it's sales will drop from the middle of next week and grenade will overtake it

The truth is, in countries where We R Who We R was available for download straight away, it gets chart runs like this: 1-5-6-4-6-8-5-5-3-3-4-7-7-10 (US chart run). 14 weeks in the top 10. Still #3 on its 10th week in the chart.

We R Who We R is front-loaded because it got released late in the UK, not because it's a poor song (I think it's a good song, anyway).

Same with Champion. It's been around for ages before release, so it will not spend as long in the chart. Simple as, really. Nothing to do with the quality of the song.

What a shame Modestep is flopping, it'll be lucky to get top 40 at this rate. Only at 54 :(

And this is just Modestep, Eric Prydz is doing even worse :(

Sad Times

I was thinking Modestep would do as well as Chase & Status, or at least Nero :( Obviously not :(

What I meant was it had one sales week before it was #1 when it was available through an obscure compilation and it got to #95 officially.

Champion is back at #3 on my feed but I don't know if that's an iTunes revert or not.

I sorta disagree. Sometimes it's REALLY obvious when a song will be a non-#1. Green Light and Beautiful Monster were very obvious as soon as they hit #1 on iTunes, and low and behold both turned out to be correct.

Plus, Chipmunk has previous for non-#1s, as Oopsy Daisy also dropped pretty quickly. This one is *slightly* less throaway but I still don't see it attracting a hoard of casual fans to his music.

I get that, but it's not always like that. I personally though All Time Low would be a non-#1 but that was a genuinely big hit (after the initial quick fall anyway)

That's because Heart picked up on it a few weeks after it hit #1, plus didn't they do a few TV appearances to hold it up on a couple of weeks?

Chipmunk won't get support from Heart (obviously), but he might get bummed to death over the next few weeks on Capital instead

Yeah, Capital will definitely play Chipmunk now. But they'll only play him regularly for 3 months max, probably.

Before that even, I recall hearing it on Heart a good month or so before it was released. I remember because I was incredibly surprised to hear something new on there rather than the same old stuff as always.

I don't really understand why they haven't playlisted Rolling In The Deep by Adele yet, preferring to still hammer Make You Feel My Love, it's an obvious choice for the station surely? They'll pick it up in three months no doubt which will stabilise it at the bottom of the chart rather than giving it a hand whilst it's still in the top ten.

A lot of people might not know this, but The Wanted are managed by a man called Ashley Tabor.

Some facts about Ashley Tabor:

- He is the son of a very successful businessman called Michael Tabor, who owns race horses.

- Ashley Tabor is the Chief Group Executive of a company called Global Radio

- Stations owned by Global radio include Classic FM, Gold FM, X FM, Choice FM, Heart FM and Capital FM.

Other facts about Ashley Tabor?

He has connections with the X Factor. He is a business associate of Louis Walsh. He was involved in a bit of a scandel in one of the earlier series of the X Factor, because, as we know, the X Factor is only for unsigned artists, but Ashley Tabor had another boy group at the time called Avenue, who he got onto the show in order to expose them. When the media found out, they had to get kicked out of the show, obviously: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/northernirela...15875-17713860/

Working with Louis Walsh, this also means that he managed Jedward.

So anyway, wondering why THE ONLY TIME Heart FM have EVER supported UK artists BEFORE they got into the charts? Wonder why The Wanted get playlisted by all the major radio stations, except Radio 1? Wonder why The Wanted come out of nowhere and get to perform on the X Factor?

Yeah, it's sad, isn't it. :( It was baffling to me at the time, but it all makes sense now.

It's certainly not looking good for it being 2011. :(
