February 6, 201115 yr I think if the European Hot 100 comes back, they should play the #1 on that. Since the UK's sales contribute to that chart. Or just use the 3-4 minutes to start the main countdown earlier, then they could play one more of the songs in the Top 40 rather than playing one twice.

I think the European Hot 100 was considered the official one (at least since I started following it, in 2008, as that's the one people always referred to, like in the news, on wikipedia, etc.). But obviously, if it doesn't come back, I guess some other chart will take over. :(
