Why is Shine A Light climbing?

Just the weekend effect?

Its been up and down for the past few weeks but Mcfly just performed it LIVE on Comedy rocks

McFly - Shine A Light is now at #39 so back in the top 40. Wonder if it'll go any higher - although I guess its too late to jump top 40 in the chart again this week.
Mcfly-Thats The Truth now at 113

I think my pop bars are really behing - Lady Gaga's lead is still pretty insignificant and Champion is ahead of Jessie J :s
Huge lead for Gaga! :o  I think she'll surpass expectations officially on Sunday! Surely not no. 1, but I can deffo see top 20, maybe higher!

Keep stretching that lead!!

To be honest I'm not *that* bothered about UK #1 right now, as she already has 4. I really want the US #1, as BR was robbed and BTW totally deserves it given the worldwide domination it has had.

:cheer: Fantastic. :D

Hopefully her lead will carry on growing over the weekend.

Bad Romance didn't really get "robbed" of #1 in the US. It got beaten by Empire State of Mind and Tik Tok, if I remember correctly. Those are two of the biggest songs of recent times. It'd be a bit different if it got beaten by Crack a Bottle and Raise Your Glass.

But when it got beaten by ESOM, it was CRUSHING it in sales, but had 70M airplay compared to ESOM's 125M, which seems a bit unfair, given how she was pulling huge sales and missing #1 by 5pts one week, IIRC.

Yeah, and I Need a Doctor would be #1 in the US at the moment, but because they include airplay, it's only #5. It is pretty annoying, to be fair. :(

That said, there'll probably be a week where it's airplay that gets Gaga the #1 spot. Maybe it already happened with Just Dance?

Gaga essentially has a 3/4+ week #1 in the bag. Unless a track drastically climbs, she is untouchable. I for one can't see a song like Price Tag or Champion reclaiming a #1 from a massive worldwide artist, and when the video is released it will go up in sales massively even further.

Personally, the only tracks I can see taking #1 from it are the Comic Relief single or Black and Yellow. Maybe S&M if Rihanna does major promo, but Loud has sold a million and its highly unlikely.

great lead for gaga :D

is it just me who finds it funny Chris Brown is ahead of Rihanna?

Unfortunately, I have only followed American charts since around the time of Poker Face, so I don't actually know about Just Dance, although I know it did have a big sales boost the weeks it was number one - I think it was simultaneously #1 Hot 100 and #1 Digital Songs at the same time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember reading that somewhere.

I'm 95% sure Black and Yellow will be #1 in the UK soon. That tune is MASSIVE!!

About Poker Face, I heard Right Round got deleted off US iTunes of Poker Face's #1 week, but I'm not sure if that would've made a difference.

I'm not sure about the airplay/sales data for Just Dance either.

Whose idea was it to combine airplay and sales anyway.

Slightly off-topic... but Gaga's #1 on iTunes in 23 countries... i.e. worldwide.
