HyunA for XXXVIII

Unovia's entry for the upcoming 38th Buzzjack Song Contest, the country's 6th outing, has been revealed. They will be represented by former 4Minute singer HyunA, who will perform her hit Bubble Pop!, which has already reached 10 in the official charts prior to revelation of the entry. The Korean singer has pressure on her shoulders, as Unovia would like to do well this time following last month's disastrorous last place finish for That Girl With Dark Eyes - Drop It. Fortunes are looking up for Unovia this time, and BJSC selection committee chairman Liam Unocastellia is confident that HyunA can do well for Unovia. Watch this space for news of HyunA's fortunes...

:D I hope HyunA will go and qualify into the finals! Too good of a song to miss it, although I just finished hearing the Semi 2 and practically 80% of it is Pop music so there might be competition..

I'm a little bit worried too tbh, I'm not sure I'll qualify :/ But at least I (and you ofc :P) love it, so that's one thing. What will be will be, I hope it gets through though and challenges the K-Pop stigma!

HyunA wins place in BJSC final

There was excitement in Unovia tonight, as K-Pop singer HyunA won the country a place in the final of BJSCXXXVIII with her brilliant performance of Bubble Pop. Though odds and predictions showed HyunA would likely DNQ, the singer defied expectation and garnered enough votes to join acts currently charting in Unovia including Loreen, Wanessa, Tove Stryke and Sweetbox in the grand final, which takes place next week. After a shock claw through, hopes are dashed for a HyunA win, but Unovians are hoping she can at least finish higher than last month's last place disaster That Girl With Dark Eyes!

HyunA shines at BJSC final

Unovians have been pleased as punch following Sunday night's BJSC final. Despite having mediocre odds, HyunA managed to gather 70 points, which made her tied with Allecian, Ashton and Yuxhaaq. After deductions for non-voters had been made, and tied seperated, HyunA finished in 15th place. ''We're very proud of HyunA, she really brought it in her performance!'' said Liam Unocastellia, head of Unovia's BJSC committee, ''We definitely needed a good finish after the last place we had last month!'' He stayed tight lipped over the next entrant, as is BJSC policy, but the potential entries for Unovia are rumoured to be released soon...

Potential entries revealed:

Melanie Wehb is a Swedish pop singer. Irrestible is a fun, upbeat pop/rock track akin to a Katy Perry hit.

Emma Louise is an Australian singer. Jungle is a quirky pop song with indie appeal gushing from it!

Elen Levon is a brand new Australian diva. Naughty is a generic banger, a real R&B floorfiller.

Funda is a pop singer, and Stand Up is a Buzzjack friendly generic banger.

Vana is a pop singer. Let's Pretend is a credible electropop track with equal pop and indie appeal.

Nabiha is a Danish singer. Trouble is a retro yet modern soul track with influences of Europop.

Opinions welcome for which will be best!

Edited by Liаm

Emma Louise is my favourite there! The Vana track is alright too.
I really like the Elen Levon and Funda track, really my style of songs :P

Nabiha nabs top 10

It was good news for Unovia on Monday night at BJSCIXL, as they achieved a new personal best position in their history of competing in the Buzzjack Song Contest. Danish singer Nabiha performed her new hit Trouble, which has since had a significant boost on Unovia's iTunes, to positive reception and managed to gather 109 points, enough to finish 6th. The country's previous best was 8th, which they had made twice - once with Alex Young's Government Name in XXXII and then again with Oh My's Kicking And Screaming in XXXVI. Officials are currently on the search for who will represent Unovia at the next contest, which will be the 40th anniversary.

The Charlies finish top 3

It was luck all round for Unovia last night at the 40th BJSC, the last contest of the year, as Icelandic girlgroup The Charlies stormed to 3rd, a new personal best. This rounds off a brilliant debut year for Unovia, in which they grabbed 4 top 10 finishes, including 2 8th placers (Oh My! and Alex Young), a 6th placer (Nabiha) and a 3rd placer (The Charlies). This is on top of a 24th placer (Jolin Tsai), a 28th placer (That Girl With Dark Eyes) and a 15th placer (HyunA). It wasn't all good for Unovia though, as they had 2 DNQs from Helena Paparizou and Joe Jonas, however Unovian BJSC Committee chair Liam Unocastellia insists he is happy with the performance Unovia has had in the contest this year, and is already considering options for the 41st contest early next year, which he hopes is the start of another fantastic year for Unovia.

Breaking News

The Bignian people today crossed the border into neighbouring Unovia, pitchforks blazing. Their aim was to get back their Queen who had been kidnapped and forced to read out the votes from Unovia during BuzzJack Song Contest XL! Fears are that this unrest could last for days and that peace may not completely return until Christmas.
