Nice to see Sugarland sneak in at the bottom with Stuck Like Glue! How come Glee are doing SO much worse this year than last in the singles chart? Ratings are up massively and singles sales haven't increased that much  I don't get how Sugarland got as high as #74, I swear they weren't even top 100 on iTunes until about Friday, maybe I just didn't notice them there - as long as it doesn't go top 40 I'll be happy, I don't want any country $h!te in the top 40 thanks. As for Glee, no idea, the only thing I can say is maybe people found downloading the songs too expensive last year and have stopped doing it? :P Edited February 14, 201115 yr by Bray
February 14, 201115 yr Glee didn't have a (significant) fanbase when it first aired in the UK last year. This time round, it has a lot of fans, but most of them also watched it at US pace, and hence, also got the songs at US pace. If it aired around the same time in the UK as everywhere else, it would be doing a lot better here. In most other countries it seems to be doing en par with the first season, at least. Surely the large rise in ratings would cancel out the few thousand people who are probably now watching it at US pace (I really can't see that that figure would be into the hundred thousands). Sure they'd all definitely be a few places higher if it was aired here simultaneously but I don't think it would make a vast difference personally. Huh? As for Glee, no idea, the only thing I can say is maybe people found downloading the songs too expensive last year and have stopped doing it? :P It's far from 'country $hite'! It's a genre I rarely appreciate (Carrie Underwood aside) but this was one of my favourite songs of last summer, I'm glad it's managed to crack the UK market, albeit barely. I sent the song to Unknown Pleasures in fact when Silk Bullet had a teams only version  It really is a bizarrely huge drop off in fortunes though isn't it :o Nobody would have expected them by this point to only have managed a couple of low top 40 hits from this series, yet the viewing figures are far higher than last year (taking out any cushion for people watching it at US pace or others suddenly finding it too expensive), so they should really be doing at least the same or better in the charts performance wise. It's unexplainable!

It's unexplainable! I think Glee will start to pick up again with Teenage Dream, Forget You, Dog Days Are Over and later Firework which should all go top 40 at the very least I reckon - that said Teenage Dream isn't doing awfully well pre-show so maybe I'm wrong about that. Whatever then reason is, I'm happy :P The Glee songs from season 1 managed a combined total of 178 chart weeks (in the top 100), it'll be interesting to see where we get to with this year's batch given none of them have even spent 3 weeks top 100 yet (even Telephone went 25-53-x)
February 14, 201115 yr Anyone know where Same Difference's album charted? I'd hoped it would have at least made the Top 100.
February 14, 201115 yr Same Difference's album didn't break the top 100 then. That is so crap
