Why do so many people on here seem to dislike Lady Gaga - what has she done to generate so much ire?

 

People are always getting at me for 'irrational antipathy' towards rap, but surely this response is no different?

 

I think it's because you're dismissing an entire genre, hate towards a single artist is pretty commonplace.

But she won't have *4 days* of 'mega-sales' - we know from experience that TV show boosts are short-lived, they tend to trail off in 48 hours or so.

So Tinie Tempah could have 5 songs in the top 40 this week (Eyes Wide Shut, Wonderman, Pass Out, Written In The Stars and We Bring The Stars Out) plus Invincible, Miami 2 Ibiza and maybe Frisky elsewhere in the top 100. That's brilliant :D If Frisky does get in, which it could do as it has 2 versions in the top 130 (127 & 129), he'll have 8 songs in the top 100. Aside from the slightly cheating Michael Jackson, Glee Cast and The Beatles, I don't think anyone has done that for a long time (even Rihanna has peaked at 7 songs in the top 100 and that's if you include the arguable All Of The Lights)

 

EDIT: Lady GaGa had 8 in the week of The Fame Monster's release, but that too can be called slightly cheating as 5 of those 8 were album tracks which dropped out the following week (although Alejandro did go on to have a proper chart run of course). 7 of the potential 8 Tinie entries are proper singles which have already had proper chart runs and the other is a new release.

Gosh! I think this have to be the worst and best week for me. My favorite UK female act atm vs my favorite international female act! I want so bad Lady GaGa to be number 1 but still Adele's Someone Like You is wonderful and that performance was incredible! She deserves that f***ing number 1 and i think Lady GaGa will get number 1 when her probably talk of the world video comes out! Can't we just split that number 1 for both of them? :drama:
