Little snippet of 'Dance Without You'

 

 

Nice teaser. Sounds like a good buzz single. Nothing more though. Which is perfect (seeing as it is a buzz single). I am in love with her own version of 'Love the Way You Lie (Part II)' though.

It sounds edgy, more towards her parts on INAD than CH certainly. Sounds pretty good actually ^_^

It sounds like the messiest song of the year so far. I really don't think this girl has the star quality to make it solo.

I think her solo career will go pretty much the same way as Keri Hilson's. They're good writers and as featured artists but there's something about them that stops them working as solo artists.

I think it's a little harsh to say that Keri Hilson 'hasn't worked' as a solo artist. She has a Gold-certified US album and a couple of global hit singles to her name.

Pained as I am to admit it, I agree with Jark, it sounds messy.

It does sound messy. But there again I thought Ellie Goulding's 'Buzz single' Under The Sheets sounded messy and ended up loving it. Looking forward to hearing the proper first single.

I suppose, but I don't think Keri Hilson ever reached the type of success people were expecting.

 

I will rephrase what I said and say I think Skylar Gray will have similar levels of success as Keri Hilson.

I think she'd be extremely lucky to have success on that level. I think she'll fizzle out very quickly and stick to the songwriting for other artists.

Curious to hear what else she puts out. So far it sounds like what we've already heard from her and I don't know that people will still be into that when she comes out with a solo project

Album title announced as 'Invisible'. By 'produced by Alex Da Kid', does that mean every track? Looking forward to it as the songs he produced last year were all brilliant.

 

'Weirdo', 'Building a Monster' & 'Final Warning' are just some track titles.

I hope Alex Da Kid hasn't produced every song for me. I love his producing, he's very talented, but there's a bit of a danger her whole album might sound too samey.

DWY wasn't bad at first listen but I'll be waiting for the lead single which hopefully will sound better.

DWY is brilliant :o I love it!

'Dance Without You' is good. But you can see why it's only a buzz single. The only part of it I found "messy" was the beginning (from about 13 seconds or so).

Ooft. That is LOVELY. Hope it's a hit for her, I can see it doing well (a lot better than what DWY would do had that been the lead) and probably a similar run to Daniel Merriweather's 'Red' here in the UK. It's hard to predict the US. I can imagine radio getting behind it though...

Although I think I actually prefer Dance Without You! :o I happened to listen to it again yesterday actually, and I had it on repeat for quite a while. :D
