February 19, 201114 yr Jessie J for both. Edit: Jessie J's Album is released on Monday? Edited February 19, 201114 yr by Born Chris Way
February 19, 201114 yr Adele for both, I can't really see Jessie J being a huge album seller. As already said Jessie's album isn't out until the week after next anyway :P
February 19, 201114 yr Adele, i cant see jessie j getting the number 1 album although she will prob go top 3.
February 19, 201114 yr adele, i can see it staying at #1 for a while longer yet. i mean she's still selling over 100k each week and with the brits this week and an #1 song to come she's only gonna be selling more
February 19, 201114 yr Author I thought Jessie J's album was being released on the 25th... As in next Friday...
February 19, 201114 yr Adele for both, I think- theres just so much hype around her atm Jessie J I can't see being a huge album seller
February 19, 201114 yr Adele & Adele. She's massive at the moment and I can see her sticking at the top of the album chart for a while.
February 19, 201114 yr Adele both. Even though 'the following week' will be Jessie's first, Adele will still outsell her she is massive! Poor Clare Maguire will have to settle for 3rd at best then!
February 19, 201114 yr As Jessie J's album isn't released until 28th Feb, I'll vote Adele for the first question then Jessie J for the second. Of course there's a chance Adele may return to no. 1 after that, or Jessie J could have big sales too and enjoy a decent stay at no. 1 as well.
February 19, 201114 yr Not sure Jessie J will be a massive album seller, TBH. Having said that, she could sell enough in her 1st week of release to beat Adele in her 6th week of release but still not convinced - all depends on airplay the SLY live version picks up, and if it is indeed number 1 tomorrow then that could be a lot! It's an interesting one, certainly. I'm more certain who will have sold the most albums come the 31st December, though. There will be no comparison, I believe.
February 19, 201114 yr Adele's going to have the #1 for quite a bit longer, I'm thinking! And deservedly so! :cheer:
February 19, 201114 yr I expect Adele's going to keep it for a long time to come. I can't see any challenge coming, and Jessie J is no exception.
February 20, 201114 yr I honestly think Jessie J has enough fans to make her an overall big album seller. Not sure if 'Who You Are' will beat Adele to #1 but might have a 'Lungs' type run.
February 20, 201114 yr I have to say Adele for both, given the established precedent for urban albums doing worse than expected.
February 20, 201114 yr I have to say Adele for both, given the established precedent for urban albums doing worse than expected. Jessie J is pop. Heck, Adele is actually more urban than Jessie J, considering she sings Blue-eyed soul music, which has direct roots to rhythm & blues which evolved to what we now call urban music. Enough music history there though. Re:The question, I think Jessie J could beat Adele if she really is released the week after next. But it really depends how fast Adele drops after the BRIT affect this week - if she's down to like 60k by then then it's very much achievable for Jessie. Anything more seems a stretch to me. That said, like someone else already said, I can imagine Jessie entering at #2 but selling consistently over the next several months. Edited February 20, 201114 yr by superbossanova
