Posted February 20, 201114 yr Howdy indie types. I've not totally thought this through yet but I was thinking we could have some sort of album club on Buzzjack where we pick either a rarely heard old album or an album from an act yet to have success and then we all listen to it for a week/fortnight and post mini reviews and scores of it. We could all take it in turns to choose something to keep things varied... any thoughts or interest? D*
February 20, 201114 yr Woo i'm in. Says the person who 'joined' the film club and never watched any of the movies so far :(
February 20, 201114 yr I was sooo thinking of starting this up myself so you can count me in for definitely
February 20, 201114 yr i was thinking of a similar thing aswell actually, so this will save me the trouble  on twitter i take part in this thing called #lpgroup where we all stimutaneously listen to an album and tweet about it at the same time, i think that would be really cool to try here but the trouble would be getting everyone to take part at one specific time, for that reason i don't think it would work here and a more pick one album per week/month/whatever and we all discuss/review type thing would work better. if it's the former i think it works better if it's an album everyone loves, on the latter it would work better with more unknown albums. also i think if it's done monthly the album would be easier picked the same way i do with the film club, nominations then a vote, where as if it was more frequently like weekly i think it would be better to take it in turns, one person picks one week, another the next and so on.

February 20, 201114 yr Sounds like a good idea to me. Sites like Spotify should mean that people don't have to buy the album - unless, of course, they decide they want to after hearing it.
February 20, 201114 yr Author Off topic: Suedehead, do you know of a place I can buy the full version of Stay Together? I can't find one anywhere. :(
February 20, 201114 yr also another idea i have/stole from another forum that i was thinking of doing here but didnt think would really work aswell is a weekley album trade, people get a different partner every week and reccomend them an album and they have to review it, but im not sure it would work quite aswell here.
February 20, 201114 yr Woo i'm in. Says the person who 'joined' the film club and never watched any of the movies so far :( Haha! Same. :( I'm definitely up for this but I wouldn't be very good at suggesting albums, I doubt any I would suggest would be very 'unknown' on here! And, like Tony, I'm rubbish at reviewing. I'd give it a go though.
February 20, 201114 yr Author I'm rubbish at reviewing stuff too, just make it a brief track by track summary if you're not sure or maybe just a list of the highs and lows of listening to it... doesn't have to be flash.
February 20, 201114 yr Should we stick to the genres covered by indie/alt and rock/punk/metal? i'd just say alternative music in general, sort of in the same way we do UP, theres like unwritten musical boundries.
February 20, 201114 yr In too! Woo i'm in. Says the person who 'joined' the film club and never watched any of the movies so far :( I'm so downloading Transamerica right now. I'll actually be watching. i'd just say alternative music in general, sort of in the same way we do UP, theres like unwritten musical boundries. Just to pick on you Chris - I don't think someone like, say, Reel Big Fish would go down all that well here, even if they are broadly alternative.
February 20, 201114 yr Harvey when I see you posting in threads these days I often realise it is likely that you are about to pick on me, it's become strangely predictable. of course RBF wouldnt go down well here, why are you telling me something that I know, my music collection is far more broader than mid-90's ska punk bands thanks.
