WELL! There is a three way battle for the top of the charts this week :o Can Adele get to #1 with the brilliant Someone Like You, performed admirably at the BRIT Awards? Can Lady GaGa rise to the top from last weeks 3? She has been ahead in the midweeks all week! How about Jessie J & B.o.B - can they stay at the top for a 3rd week? OH THE EXCITEMENT!

Outside the top 3, Rihanna should climb with S&M, JLS & Tinie Tempah with Eyes Wide Shut, there should be new entries from Far East Movement Feat. Ryan Tedder, You Me At Six feat. Chiddy Bang and BRITS performing Take That with Kidz.

Adele should stick at the top for a 4th week!

Following the BRITS, climbers should be from Rihanna, Mumford & Sons and Tinie Tempah.

Chart Prediction

01 Adele

02 Jessie J

03 Lady GaGa

(Obviously i'd like GaGa to be #1 though, with Adele at #2, and Jessie at #3. 'Price Tag' is getting boring and annoying now...)

  • Author

I want Adele to be #1, so I think:

1. Adele

2. GaGa

3. Jessie J/B.o.B.

It'd be a good chart battle if the winner wasn't completely obvious to people who follow the mids as it almost always is (last week was unpredictable until it was pretty much ruined by spoilers, this week not so much)

Anyway, WBTSO is separated from Pass Out now according to the 1Xtra chart so I'm hoping we'll hear 5 Tinie Tempah songs in the top 40 this week.

THE OFFICIAL UK TOP 40

20 February 1994

01 (01) WITHOUT YOU, Mariah Carey

02 (02) THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER, D:Ream

03 (--) STAY TOGETHER, Suede

04 (04) RETURN TO INNOCENCE, Enigma

05 (03) BREATHE AGAIN, Toni Braxton

06 (08) ALL FOR LOVE, Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart & Sting

07 (--) THE SIGN, Ace Of Base

08 (09) LET THE BEAT CONTROL YOUR BODY, 2 Unlimited

09 (05) THE POWER OF LOVE, Celine Dion

10 (07) MOVE ON BABY, Cappella

As always, check out my blog for this week's chart commentary, TOTP etc...

I don't see the fuss about the Adele record. Great voice, dull song in my opinion.

Out of the 3 it is far from clear cut by any means so this is indeed a real battle this week!

Well, for me it's quite obvious that we'll have 1. Adele 2. Jessie 3. GaGa.

Oh, and 2006 and 2001 #1s are brilliant!

I think last week's was more unpredictable than this week's. I wasn't sure who'd get #1 this week initially, but after Friday's mids, I'm pretty sure I know what the top 3 is, unless there's a major upset.

2010's chart was TERRIBLE. :( Only 3 really good songs in it tbh. :( You Got the Dirtee Love was BRILLIANT though! :D 2006's was great, but still not THAT good.

2001 had the best chart, based on what I know/remember from that top 10.

Retro Faves

04. (3) Timbaland Ft Katy Perry - If We Ever Meet Again (Love the chorus)

06. (10) Rihanna - Rude Boy (Good at the time, the novelty's worn off a bit)

07. (5) Glee Cast - Don't Stop Believin' (Prefer the version with everybody in it)

10. (6) 3oh3 Ft Katy Perry - Starstrukk (Another Katy collab I love)

05. (-) Liz McClarnon - Woman In Love/I Get The Sweetest Feeling (Guilty pleasure)

06. (6) Beyonce - Check On It (Fab song)

08. (5) Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Classic)

01. (1) Atomic Kitten - Whole Again (Another classic)

02. (2) Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag (Loved this at school)

07. (8) Toploader - Dancing In The Moonlight (S'alright)

And I want;

1. Adele

2. Lady GaGa

3. Jessie J

but it will probably be

1. Adele

2. Jessie J

3. Lady GaGa

I wonder if this is going to be the biggest #3 outside of Xmas, that we've had for ages.

Out of the 3 it is far from clear cut by any means so this is indeed a real battle this week!

No, I'd say the order of the top 3 is fairly clear, there was a <1% sales difference between 1 and 3 on the Friday mids and since then the #2 was massively outselling the #3 and the #3 was massively outselling the #1. (Not naming anything in case any guests or people who don't follow the mids don't want it spoiled :P)

No, I'd say the order of the top 3 is fairly clear, there was a :P)

But Saturday could have changed all that - especially given how tight the sales were by Friday :P

its quite a chart battle today, although I think Adele will triumph overall, Jessie could've overtook Gaga though :o

I think the top 3 and its order is pretty obvious. The question will be how much will each sell. I'm think over 85k each and the #1 over 100,000
