The girls in my class play "Baby" all the time. They say they don't fancy him though.
Yes I noticed that. :(

Don't really understand why everything for him has done so badly this era (in the UK).

I think it's partly because his music (aside from All Of The Lights) has been less commercial than 808s and partly because of the Taylor Swift incident and everyone's overreaction to it. Although that seems to have affected him far more here than in the USA.

It's a shame, MBDTF is a really really good album and has been received extremely well critically but it just isn't selling here :( I don't think it's done amazingly outside its first week in the USA either

'Runaway' was probably the most undeserved top 40 miss of 2010 for me (and there were quite a few brilliant songs just missing out last year - Sub Focus 'Splash', Hot Chip 'One Life Stand' etc... difference being those were both #41s and Runaway didn't come anywhere near T40, peaking at #56 :()

Most undeserved top 40 miss of 2009, on a partially unrelated note, was Zero by Yeah Yeah Yeahs IMO. Such an underrated song. :(

 That's hilarious! Gosh, that must've been awkward. Ringtone moments can be pretty amusing though.

One of my little sisters used to like Justin Bieber, until she talked about him with her friends and they all hated him, and she's a bit of a sheep to be honest, so she suddenly decided she hated him too. :(

I love ringtone moments, especially when someone's caught with an embarrassing song like that! :P Good on Megan (the girl who was caught out loving JB) though, she's not stopped liking him because her friends don't!

Taylor Swift incident and everyone's overreaction to it.

What did you think of it?

Well, I don't agree with what Kanye said, SL(PAROI)'s video was very bland but Taylor certainly didn't deserve the award either.

Plus Kanye is better than Taylor in every way so TEAM KANYE ALL THE WAY.

Yeah, agreed on that point, however what did you think of the actual getting up in the middle of her acceptance speech and ruining her moment? Out of order much?

It's not like it's the first time he ever did it. And it added a bit of drama to an otherwise completely dull and un-news-worthy awards ceremony which is always a good thing. I felt a bit bad for Taylor at first, but hey, she still got an award and gained new fans from it and Kanye's career was only affected negatively so the incident sort of worked in Taylor's favour.

I actually DID agree with Kanye tbh. The video to Single Ladies is incredible, and has had a massive cultural impact, as we all know. I still don't think I've even seen the Taylor Swift video in question.

It was wrong for him to disturb her speech like that though.

Also, that was the same award ceremony as the one where Eminem spent 5 minutes leering at Lady Gaga (see my sig, which I'm planning to change to a picture of Jay-Z and Beyonce soon, if I can find a good one :D).

While we're on Kanye West, they were talking about George Bush on the radio the other day, and apparently he said that his most upsetting part of his career was when Kanye said he didn't care about black people! :o

I guess promo is promo, she was definitely talked about, but i put myself in her shoes and accepting an award which is obviously so important and then some d***head comes up and ruins it? I'd be p***ed.

On the topic of Taylor, Back To December is her new single, saw it on TV today, not sure when it'll be impacting on itunes, but probably just about top 30? I dont think it'll be too big over here, like her other stuff, the UK doesnt get her like US does, to me all her songs sound so similar and its all quite bland, but i like her, she's really cute and clearly talented, just her music is not for me personally.

Given that 'Mine' only got 'just about top 30' I can't see BTD making any impact here at all. Might do about as well as Teardrops On My Guitar if it's lucky.

I remember last year when Taylor Swift was releasing promo singles every week on iTunes, and they all went to #1! :o

Also, going back to Kanye/Taylor, one of the funniest moments ever was when we were talking about it at school the day after (it was the main topic of conversation that day, for sure), and we were talking about it at lunch again, and then one of my friends goes "Who's Kanye West?" Literally everyone went silent, and all their jaws dropped. So hilarious!

Wasn't he actually at #1 in the UK at the time aswell, with Rihanna and Jay-Z? I can't remember the exact dates everything happened.

That's just because Taylor has a ridiculously huge fanbase in the USA (see also Speak Now selling 1,000,000 in its first week, slightly more than other notorious fanbase artist Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III, all of the album tracks from both Fearless Platinum and Speak Now going top 20 on iTunes, etc.). They all fell relatively quickly after a few days. The modest performance of BTD thus far in the USA suggests she doesn't really have the same mass appeal she had in the Fearless era, specifically Love Story (although this may just be because everyone already owns Speak Now)

^ Yeah, I kind of guessed that getting to #1 on iTunes with different songs every week with no promotion = large devoted fanbase.

Love Story was actually pretty massive back in 2009. Or, at least, it seemed like it was to me! Although that seemed more of a pop song than a country song (although I still didn't like it very much).

Anyway, hopefully we'll see Kanye back in the top 10 soon with E.T.!! :w00t:

Remember he was briefly top 10 on iTunes a few weeks ago with H•A•M. :P

Although he hasn't been officially top 10 since Run This Town now :(

Oh yeah, lol. H.A.M must be the most forgettable iTunes top 10 song so far this year. It wasn't that bad, just I've rarely seen a song that frontloaded before. :(

All of the Lights really should be top 10. :( It's a brilliant song!!! And Rihanna looks SO hot on the video!

Big enough for another week.

And the rest, depending on whether or not GaGa's impending video has the effect her fans expect it to. Give Adele's Brit performance another week on you tube and its combined views will rival the actual itv viewing figures for the entire show! The video has sort of become viral now.
