Glee Songs that Have Charted This Year

Glee Cast - Telephone #25 (Althought it did break top 10 on itunes)

Glee Cast - Empire State Of Mind #35

Glee Cast - Toxic #40

Glee Cast - Start Me Up/ Livin On A Prayer #39

Glee Cast - Teenage Dream #36.

Telephone got to #8 or #9 on iTunes, and charted at #25 officially, I think? I'm just not sure about it. Glee songs usually chart way lower than their iTunes peak. Like Total Eclipse of the Heart was #2 on iTunes but ended up at #9 in the Sunday charts.
WOW at total eclipse going #2.. i think once we catch up with the USA on eposides the songs will chart higher.

Glee - Singing In The Rain #20 (19th If Excluding Adele) Should Hit Top 15 tommorow.

Glee - Forget You #39 & #46 (#15th If Excluding Adele)

Best Start Glee has had in ages for singles.

Where's J.lo? Is it out yet?

Does anyone think she will be a big hit in the UK? :o

I looked up the old thread and the closest update to this time on the Telephone week was at 8:07am.

It had Telephone at #22 and Empire State Of Mind at #30.

Singin In The Rain / Umbrella is currently #20 and Forget You #39 and #46 - based on this I think low top 20, maybe just missing out for SITR/U officially and FY high 30s, possibly top 30.

SITR/U could be a bit higher than that (maybe top 15?) if it gets top 10 on iTunes for a significant length of time but we'll have to wait and see if that happens :P

EDIT: And according to another poster, Total Eclipse Of The Heart was #7 at this point and Halo / Walking On Sunshine #14 in their respective weeks so I think top 10 officially is out of the question for SITR/U, but again it might go top 10 on iTunes and stay there for the rest of the week in which case it could make top 10. It's still unpredictable-ish. My estimates are just based off the first week of season two.

As for the other songs none of them are likely to even go top 100 - the highest is Nowadays / Hot Honey Rag at #89, while What I Did For Love (#96 officially) was #49 at around this point.

Based on that livepopbars site, I would guesstimate that Jessie is around 60% (maybe slightly higher combined) of Adele still. I'm amazed at how well Adele is holding up, she must be getting quite a lot of airplay.

(Although this feed is slightly behind as Good Girl is now #9 - there isn't exactly going to be a huge difference though as Adele's lead has stayed fairly constant since the start of the week)

EDIT: I decided to measure the pixel lengths of the two bars (because I don't really have anything better to do at 7:30 on a Tuesday morning in half term) and Jessie is roughly 53.5% of Adele :o She's a bit better off when combined but only by maybe 1-2%

When listening to the radio yesterday (I listened for about 2 hours in total), Adele was certainly the main topic of conversation. I only actually heard Someone Like You once in those two hours (on Capital) (I heard Rolling in the Deep loads and Make You Feel My Love once (on Heart)), but her BRITs performance of Someone Like You seemed to be talked about somewhere like every 10 minutes. Perhaps them simply talking about it is even helping.

And I hope Glee Cast can go top 10 on iTunes with Singing in the Rain/Umbrella. The top 10 needs a bit of recycling tbh.

On the other note, Britney is #34 (!)

34. Hold It Against Me - Britney Spears

Where is the proper video effect?

Yes, I don't think SLY the song is getting amazing airplay yet but it's true that everyone is talking about it. It's a big topic of conversation on facebook and twitter as well - and unlike talk on the radio the YT video is often linked to so that ppl can be watching it within seconds (the views for all the uploads of the Brits performance of SLY will probably overtake the actual itv viewing figures for the show in the next week or so)

That's it. It doesn't work releasing the video late in this country, unless it's a very special circumstance then once the momentum is gone it's gone forever. So I hope Gaga hurries up with BTW :/

Of course she won't, that'll be very lucky to go top 20.

I think she could suprise people and do a bit of an Alexis Jordan  She didn't release anything from the previous era here IIRC though, so it's hard to judge her popularity. I can see it being a US hit with her increased profile.

ISTM we've already had it - what else would you call climbing from 54 to 27 in two days on iTunes?

Finding it rather funny that Britney's yet to re-enter the top 20. Hope Avril can keep climbing but her album's out in a couple of weeks so top 10 seems out of the question now :(
Have you listened to the whole thing, or are you judging it by the 30 second preview? I can never find most of these covers on youtube, but I don't usually want to buy them either!

I really hope Black and Yellow goes to #1. :(

Just the 30 second preview. I wouldn't buy it as I'm waiting for the original to be released

I'm completely baffled as to why Brit isn't receiving the "video boost" that we were all thinking would happen for her. Bitch needs to come and promote. 'Hold It Against Me' has under performed so bad! :( Why aren't people "getting" Britney? I just hope it's a slow, slow burner and it starts to climb randomly and stays Top 40 for another few weeks yet, but JIVE seriously need to pull their finger out and focus on stuff for her that isn't US restricted! 'Hold It Against Me' is so fresh and new sounding and different to anything Britney's done before, but still sounding quite Britney... I'm baffled that (obvious lack of promotion herself, aside) it isn't sticking around for much longer! What a cock up!

The only thing I can think of, that will turn it around for her, is something like Live Lounge, where she shows people that she CAN sing live! Also an interview with Alan Carr as I think Alan and Britney would get on like a house on fire!

EDIT: and JIVE cancelling her physical release is a very stupid move!

Adele's lead is actually increasing a bit now - when I measured the pixel lengths from livepopbars.com a couple of hours ago Jessie was at 53.5% of Adele, she's now at 52.5%. (Adele is 965 pixels combined, Jessie is 507 pixels)
