Cant believe S&M is #3 on iTunes off an album selling 1,100,000+, thats insane. :w00t:

I cant even spot it on the top 40 on Radio/TV play.. http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=125415 :o

Someone Like You  #5 wow

Rolling in the Deep #4

Cant believe Wonderman and F***in' Perfect may not make top 10! :\

I think it's partly because his music (aside from All Of The Lights) has been less commercial than 808s and partly because of the Taylor Swift incident and everyone's overreaction to it. Although that seems to have affected him far more here than in the USA.

It's a shame, MBDTF is a really really good album and has been received extremely well critically but it just isn't selling here :( I don't think it's done amazingly outside its first week in the USA either

'Runaway' was probably the most undeserved top 40 miss of 2010 for me (and there were quite a few brilliant songs just missing out last year - Sub Focus 'Splash', Hot Chip 'One Life Stand' etc... difference being those were both #41s and Runaway didn't come anywhere near T40, peaking at #56 :()

Most undeserved top 40 miss of 2009, on a partially unrelated note, was Zero by Yeah Yeah Yeahs IMO. Such an underrated song. :(

got kanyes album last week and its his best album since 2005, awesome stuff - nicki minaj sounds class!! No smash hits on it though more quality!!

Gaga is falling really quickly lol Number 7 now!! Chipmunk has over taken her.

Oh dear Gaga LMAO

I'm not sure the idea of putting a song straight on iTunes without any radio or tv play at all..not even a video ready to be released 1 or 2 weeks later at least to keep up momentum. Gaga will shoot up again with the video out, and has had big sales since its been released.

It's now 5:58pm.

As per my post on page 12, Telephone was at #11 at this point in its week, whereas Singing In The Rain / Umbrella is #12 so it's actually a little behind Telephone now.

Unless the Born This Way video can do some serious damage (which i think it may), i dont think it will be nearly as big a hit as her former singles IN THE UK!

Having said that her follow up single, Judas is about falling for the wrong man and so fits in with the themes of some of her bigger hits.

Shocking that Born This Way is so huge around the world, but the UK have not warmed up to it so much... Oh well, the video should drop on Thursday, so time will tell...

Rawr.

it is a good idea, it makes it available the moment its first heard which is how it should be...its the record companies that will just have to adapt to the new way of things!!

Technically Umberella is #11 as Adele has two versions ahead?

Also Forget You is close to top 10 combined :o

We can't be entirely sure Gaga will go back up with the video - look at Britney! :( I can't believe she's down to 7 already!

So far BTW has only gone to number 1 in 8 countries.... so cant really be considerd as being a world wide hit.

I dont the video will make much difference TBH, its getting plenty of air play here in the UK, its just not number 1 material.

So glad Adele is storming the charts again this week. Its gunna stay at number 1 for sure :)

I think, like any decision made, there are advantages and disadvantages to it.

Gaga is much bigger than Britney now, and her videos have a much bigger impact that any artist out there, so i'm sure she'll shoot up with growing airplay and tv play.

BTW has gone Top 10 in every country it's been released, of course its a world wide hit :S

Yes. I'm 100% sure the video will boost Gaga. The question is how much, and how quickly?

Also, if anybody cares, I discovered today that I live like right next to Claire Maguire!!!!!!! :w00t: :o

 #1 on every single iTunes store WW, if that isnt a worldwide hit i dont know what is

Really impressive for Adele - still selling bucketloads of 'Someone Like You'. I can only assume radio stations have picked up on its chart success and started playing the track. Also music channels playing the Brits performance when counting down the UK Top 40 videos?

Adele could actually be no. 1 for another 2/3 weeks which makes a nice change to the usual one week wonder. Then again, there is Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way' video premiere. Whether it has the same impact that videos for 'Bad Romance' and 'Telephone' especially had then 'BTW' could well climb back up iTunes and #1 again. If it's another 'Alejandro' style video, it'll be like the video to 'Hold It Against Me' and the song will have zero chance of being #1.

How immense would it be it Born This Way fell down to #10 in time for Glee Cast to climb in!?!?!?

^ To be fair about the Hold It Against Me video, it did cause the song to climb like 30 places on UK iTunes, and in other countries the song has returned to the top 10. Or was this all nothing to do with the video, and just a coincidence that people all over the world suddenly started buying the song more?
