This theory can't explain her runaway success virtually all over the globe, though.

"19" isn't #2 all over the globe right now though...

I did say she would still be successful without it, but her X Factor exposure for like 6 months prior the release of the new album did help her greatly IMO (just look at the chart runs of "Make you feel my love" and "19").

19 is #3 on US iTunes.

I agree XF probably boosted her career in the UK significantly but I don't see how MYFML's usage on the UK X Factor could have contributed much to Adele's worldwide success :P

There was a girl of about four singing this on the bus this morning. Not an experience I wish to repeat any time soon

I bet she could sing it better than Katy Perry though :P

Good to see take that havnt dropped from yesterday with kidz.

Id say adele will hold the top 2 albums now for sunday, she is just huge at the moment.

I never said it boosted her success worldwide... that's exactly why I underlined her colossal success in the UK, especially with 19 selling massively for last few weeks/months, as compared to her big but more kind of normal success in the rest of the world.

Reportedly 1 in every 166 Dutch people bought '21' in its first week on sale. Proportionately that's way bigger success than '21' experienced in its first week of release in the UK. it's actually almost TWICE as successful if you do the sums.

I'd say Adele's worldwide success this era is a bit more than 'normal'.

Why do you always pick on what I'm saying when it's really nothing important...

All I started with was : I think the whole X Factor business boosted her profile in the UK and it helped her to sell more than she would have sold in the UK without it, especially with "19". Is it really something to debate for pages ?

From that week's chart commentary

"21 has reportedly sold over 100,000 copies in the Netherlands (where 19 was the best seller of the year in 2009) which, adjusting for the size of the population, is similar to the number of first week sales of Take That’s Progress in the UK last year."

Netherlands is a bit of a different case though, she built her massive profile during the "19" era there, I remember "Make you feel my love" being HUGE there. Actually she was a lot more successful in the Netherlands than she was in the UK after the first era. :

Adele is taking over Europe, Her German and Netherlands figures are massive :o
1 Adele [21]2 Adele [19]

:funky: :funky: :funky: Number 1 is not enough for her! This girl is everything right now! Wait till she hits number 1 in US! Definitely she will keep those positions! :cheer:

so Adele is likely to have the albums top 2, and the singles number 1 and number 4- seriously, she is just unstoppable, I don't remember the last time anyone had *this* amount of success, its just unbelievable :o
And SLY must be increasing its lead as it's now 2 (live) & 3 (album version) on iTunes! It will be interesting how this era will be viewed in years to come because at the moment is feels quite incredible how she is totally dominating the charts. And even more amazing is her success in the US appears to be directly mirroring her success here. Would anyone seriously bet against her having the number 1 & 2 albums in the US in the next few weeks for instance?
I think Adele will have huge sales yet again this week. There's just no stopping her atm. I think Price Tag could have major huge sales too. Good sales period atm.
do you think it was right for chris brown to have the restraining order removed from rihanna?

I heard it was partly because it would create difficulty in attending awards ceremonies?

Mind you, ISTM there's no way he's ever likely to win one now, anyway...
