NEW YORK, Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time ever, Glee premieres two new and original songs on Glee: The Music, Volume 5, available March 8. "Loser Like Me," an energetic ensemble track was co-written by pop mastermind Max Martin (Britney Spears, P!nk) and "Get It Right" is a moving ballad brought to life by Lea Michele's immense voice. These original tracks will air in the "GLEE" episode TUESDAY, MARCH 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Sounds exciting, and it's so brilliant that they've managed to get Max Martin on-board! :o From the air date of the episode, it should be episode 17 (so this thread can turn into the thread for that nearer the time)!

The episode's been titled 'Original Song'; creative! After tonight's episode, it seems there is a two-week break, followed by 'Sexy' then this episode. Source.

Episode 16? :o I'd read that Regionals would be Episode 18, but I assume Regionals will be the same time they perform these songs...?

Guess that gives more time for Nationals to be Episode 22?

I was put off of the second song with LEA MICHELE solo. Yes, we really need another one of her shouty plain performances. Still ridiculously excited for it, if handled well it could be their first #01 I reckon!

I think her voice has been less grating in her recent songs (Need You Now, Firework and Don't You Want Me), I just hope that she doesn't go back to awful shouty Rachel :( I hope they do get a number 1 from one of these, it seems a bit crap that the only time Glee have ever hit number 1 is with Gives You Hell in Ireland. A - it's not exactly a Hot 100 no. 1 and B - GYH is FAR from their best track!

Oooh. A two week break? Is that for us to catch up? I guess we won't be getting the Christmas special then?
I hope we don't get the christmas special til maybe Christmas this year, it's by far the weakest episode and it'd just be plain ODD to be watching it in MARCH.

Glee's time-slot is being taken by a 90 minute American Idol 'live' show next Tuesday.

Some information from Filming -

New Directions win.

Dalton Academy sing 'Raise Your Glass' by Pink and Kurt and Blaine sing a duet called 'Candle'.

A shocking turn of events leads to a long waited event- Rumour is Pavarotti dies and it leads to Kurt returning to McKinley in Episode 17.

Rachel sings solo, and New Directions perform a 'brilliant but cheesy' pop number

Sue's group Aural Intensity perform a song called 'Jesus'.

I think Glee will be pushing for the original songs to become big hits (ala 'Don't Stop Believin'') because they will want them to do well, surely? I think ifthey are any good, then they will do amazingly well.

Sounds like a very good episode if true! :o

Who's Pavarotti though?

Aside from the opera singer?

Dunno. Agreed that it sounds pretty awesome.

Pavarotti was the bird Kurt had to look after when he first joined The Warblers.
