November 26, 201113 yr I always thought the tour being just a week or so after the album release was a funny choice. Personally I hate winter tours, they're a pain in comparison to ones that take place in the spring and summer.
November 26, 201113 yr Author I don't want to sound "blinded" or anything here but seriously, it's obvious the public like The Saturdays when they're doing straight up electropop (the reason why Up, Ego and Higher are their biggest hits and the likes of One Shot/Puppet/Wordshaker are the favourite album tracks) and that the public aren't keen on The Saturdays when they try and do something different (evident with Forever Is Over and Missing You flopping) so why the f*** would the label think Notorious and All Fired Up would be a success? Why the f*** did they release those marmite tracks over superior tracks like Get Ready Get Set, White Lies, Faster etc?? Did they really expect them to be hits? Why can't they take the safe option for once?? And why the hell did they release possibly the worst track (My Heart Takes Over) to launch the album? And why did they book the tour so close to the album release?! They should be out doing signings and promoting the hell out of this! You can say the public aren't connecting with The Sats, that's fine and partially true but come on, the label are taking two steps back after every step forward. Regarding the singles, the album was no where ear finished when they released Notorios, so how could they have released tracks that didn't even exist at the time? Notorious was probably the best of the bunch at the time. The only single they messed up was MHTO. It was the wrong choice to launch the album off.

Notorious was probably the best of the bunch at the time. The only single they messed up was MHTO. It was the wrong choice to launch the album off. Notorious wasn't a clever single choice at all. It shouldn't have been released at all, it was far too risky. If they really wanted to release a single in May then they should have recorded something much more "safe". Notorious has practically killed their airplay. All Fired Up wasn't a good choice either. Club anthems only work if you're someone like Pitbull or Chris Brown. They just jumped on the bandwagon and considering there's nothing like AFU on the album (people keep saying Get Ready Get Set but that's just an upbeat electropop song, AFU is more of an Ibiza style club instrumental with vocals) it was just a stupid choice. I hate to be one of the people who say "well if they released this and that then the album would be much more succesful" but I do genuinely think if the label stopped trying to take risks and just released the "obvious" hits like GRGS and Faster then this era might have been different. The label keep thinking they can change styles for every release and the public will buy it.
November 26, 201113 yr I really don't know how the hell they're gonna get themselves out of this one.
November 26, 201113 yr I don't really begrudge them from trying to progress, with singles that are a little different for them. It's always easy to say what should have been released with the benefit of hindsight! I place most of the blame on My Heart Takes Over & a November release date.
November 26, 201113 yr Notorious' release date shouldn't even matter, it's not like it was launching the album and it sold virtually the same total that All Fired Up has. I think they were both good single campaigns.
November 26, 201113 yr I think the main problem is the promotion. They should be performing on more TV shows, and signings aren't exactly a bad suggestion. If it weren't for the tour being so close, I think they'd be more likely. Also, MHTO wasn't the best choice to launch the album.
November 26, 201113 yr Just purchased from Amazon, was just going to put it on my Christmas list but can't resist a bargain. There's another sale.
November 26, 201113 yr I don't place the blame on the release of Notorious or All Fired Up at all. The songs are great, and the yes they could have been more successful, but some bands and artists would love to have sales of 150,000+ of each single The chart position of OYR does not reflect on the quality of the album and what effort the girls have put it, and I do feel that it is worthy of at least a top 10, even top 5 position. The album may improve in the coming weeks, and I hope it does. I would hope that the arena tour will boost some sales. I still think that the album is going to be a successful era, but I think people are writing the band off too soon. I mean, the album has been out 6 days, and just because it is not as high as people expect they think that it's going to be the end. We as fans of The Saturdays need to keep the faith up, and not write the band off at the early stages of the albums release.
November 26, 201113 yr It won't make much difference but the album is up to 44 on Amazon which I think is its peak to-date so the £4.99 price seems to be helping.
November 26, 201113 yr I have a feeling White Lies will never be a single, probably Faster then TWYWM then the era will be finished.
November 26, 201113 yr I think the chances of there being two more singles are extremely minimal. Probably just Faster with a low-budget video. Una wouldn't be able to promote a fifth single anyway and she's not exactly as disposable as Frankie. People would actually notice if she wasn't there.

'All Fired Up' peaked at #14 which was a much better peak than Notorious, and un-like Notorious it actually stuck around in the airplay chart. 10wks in the Top 40/50 (All Fired Up). Again, some of the material you're referring to wasn't even recorded at this stage when All Fired Up was released. Get Ready, Get Set was one of the last to be completed actually.
November 26, 201113 yr People are saying it's Notroious that killed the airplay, it isn't just the song that is the fault. The whole release stratergy messed up any airplay they were going to get unfortunatly.

The whole release stratergy messed up any airplay they were going to get unfortunatly. Oh I know that, It's just when you look at it, All Fired Up actually turned things around for them and made radios take notice of them again, hence the longer airplay run and higher peak when you compare it to Notorious's. The campaign for Notorious was a mess though which is why radios where reluctant to play it when it kept yo-yo'ing up and down the charts. Every major station apart from Radio 1 have abandoned The Sats for 'My Heart Takes Over' because if you look at like this; The stations took more notice of them when they where releasing more up-tempo numbers. In comparison, My Heart Takes Over lacks energy and sounds boring. Hopefully another up-tempo release could bring them back to the attention of some other stations.
November 26, 201113 yr I'm annoyed as my preordered OYR from amazon is yet arrive; can't believe I'm the only one here who hasn't heart it. :(
November 27, 201113 yr Get Ready, Get Set is fast becoming my favourite song from the album. It has been Faster but it looks like GR,GS will overtake it in the next few days!
November 27, 201113 yr OWCH. There's no way to make that into a positive, is there... Probably won't even be top 40 next week.
