March 5, 201114 yr Author I just get a tad fed up nearly always being near the bottom. Sigh. Sadly, the sort of entries you send don't have much of an audience here since the 'indie contingent' upped and moved over to Unknown Pleasures :( Pure pop rules the roost in BJSC and has done pretty much for the whole of the past year.
March 5, 201114 yr Apparantly so, but for some reason all the chart websites list the song as 'Provans'. Maybe that's how they spell "Provence" in their country? Even on the Russian chart website I use, if I translate the page it becomes "Provans" as well. It's 'Прованс', the word in cyrillic, which is letter-by-letter transformed into 'Provans', among other things, to make it easier for foreigners to pronounce it. Like 'privet' etc. I personally hate it. Incredibly many words got into russian language that way. Like instead of just saying 'играть' (to play) we put the root from 'game' and add the verb suffix. So ridiculous. Either say it right or don't say it at all. The saddest thing is that this 'phenomenon' is spreading like a VIRUS. Sorry for the rant haha!
March 5, 201114 yr I didn't know you competed! :o Which country are you? I'm not one of these countries. I might consider taking part next time - or whenever there's a chance to get involved. I do worry though if I did win, I'd have to run one of these BJSC contests - which I'd probably belly flop at. :( Then again, CC Idol seemed to be a massive success in 2005 so it's not like I can't host these things. This is why I'm confused because I'm charting her under the name given to me by a Ukrainian person! Plus, Hits, you really should consider entering this contest, I'd love to hear what entries you'd send! :D I got the name Yolka from THIS website which co-incidentally is the website where I also get the Russian singles chart each week. He doesn't, but we'd be more than happy to have him ^_^ Cheers Silas :D I'm already intrigued by some of these songs. From the list, the only two songs I already know are Fallulah and Serebro. It's 'Прованс', the word in cyrillic, which is letter-by-letter transformed into 'Provans', among other things, to make it easier for foreigners to pronounce it. Poor Pavel :( You speak better English than most English posters on Buzzjack (see my sig :P )
March 5, 201114 yr He doesn't, but we'd be more than happy to have him ^_^ Oh, I would as well :) You don't have to host it if you win Hits, just pass it on to someone else who wants to host it :)

March 14, 201114 yr Looking at the odds I think theres a few really god pop entries that will do very well, I'd pick out Anine Stang and Elisabeth Carew for special mention as ones that'll do particularly well. Also September are always contenders. I think some of the more obscure entries will be the ones to watch though, Lykke Li is a great pick from Rich which I think will pick up points across the board. Gotta mention my own entry, I think Dame Maggie will go upper mid table, I think In A Box has an air of Robyn about it though doesn't deliver the mainstream thump of WYRMT
