I'm worried for Nicole now :(

I know Chris Will beat Her on Pre-Orders.

Duran Duran, Ths Strokes Are Gauranteed to beat Her.

Adele 19 & 21 should beat her... i think she will officially miss out on the top 5, which would be devestating!

I thought he would be, I like them both but I expect Chris Brown to have a bigger fan base then a solo Nicole with her debut album

I'm Really worried for Nicole, Her Debut Album NEEDS to go top 5 and deserves to be top 3 imo

iTunes album chart gives quite a small, but i'd say significant indication to how albums will chart officially, i'd expect in the morning we'll see both Nicole and Chris Brown higher and maybe switiching places throughout the week, but 18 songs on Brown's album for £7.99 is huge, can see a lot of people buying it, especially after the huge club hit and summer-vibe hit Yeah 3x, thats the direction he's gone in so appealing to quite a lot of people right now I think. Now Nicole has hit #1 her allbum will really beneftt a lot I think, has to be top 10, maybe #7/#6 I think, and Brown pushing it for #5? Very compeititive in album chart right now a lot of big albums out, most of them relatively old ie Rihanna, Adele, Bruno Mars, Jessie J (not old but adds to competitiveness as doing very well too).

Not in the singles itunes thread, so thought an albums thread would be good, as its not discussed in the singles thread.

^ I think Chris Brown had to release Yeah 3x as the lead single because he really needed to put that image out, given the public opinion of him the past year or so. His whole album isn't dance-pop though (although he's got a few other songs like that on there, such as Beautiful People).

I really hope Chris Dosen't Chart Higher Than Nicole, I'll be buying Chris Album tommorow in town as I have already purchased Nicole's on Pre-Order.

I just can't see Nicole getting top 5 tbh, which would be shocking. I have a strong feeling she will chart #10-11 !

The Naked and Famous are at 28! Do we know how much of total sales come from itunes?

Yeah. The music video especially, just how it had him dancing amongst lots of happy young children, for example. I guess he had to do it because the media were going to the other extreme, painting him as some psychotic criminal (well, I think he technically is a criminal, but you know what I mean :lol:).

 

With regards to singles, I imagine he'll alternate them. So he'll release a pop song, then an urban song, then a pop song, then an urban song and so on. I've notived a lot of US artists do that. It makes sense, because a hip hop radio station probably won't touch Yeah 3x, yet it's still worth him promoting his album to that audience. Likewize, I doubt a pop radio station would play Look At Me Now. So it's best that he alternates them, so there's not a massive gap, so to speak.

That's what i was thinking! iTunes sales for albums must be increasing (personally, i don't like it - i mean who doesn't prefer the physical albums)! Probably, we will see a few more albums that will sell a decent amount in digital!

I know what you mean I HAVE to buy the physical album if i'm going to buy an album, its a must! :lol: iTunes albums are good though as sometimes they have bonus tracks or are cheaper, and obviously you dont need to go out and buy it so its quicker, so for some people its a lot easier and better, but for me physical albums for sure. :)

Its definitely on the rise though, I think in a few years actualy CDs wont be sold anymore everything will be digital and through downloads, technology is progressing and growing so fast year after year. Even books, look at the kindle, in decades there may not even be printed books! Scary stuff lol

It's so depressing to think that! i mean i've been buying albums for ages and suddenly one by one music stores are closing! The positive is that in a way is "blocking" illegal downloading as we can see from the huge increases in singles sales!

I know it'll be a sad day when they announce no more CDs! Just have to adapt to new things as technology grows I guess.

1:40am, very early on and all 3 doing very well, pre-orders obviously impact a lot.

Did Jessie J not knock her off for about 3 or 4 days? I'm pretty sure she did. Although I can't remember exactly.

I havent seen Adele off #1 since day of release, but thats just me.
