I definitely think they're very similar. Not in the "potential summer anthem" sense, but musically aswell. Both are great though. I dance pretty much exactly the same to both songs, in the "verses" at least.

 

I've had Party Rock Anthem stuck in my head all day now! It's really brilliant. :heart:

 

EDIT: Listen to the bit after 1:00 in Party Rock Anthem, then the bit after 0:45 in We No Speak Americano.

It sounds so anthemic and has everything a dance song needs - a great beat, a great feel good hook, a hands-in-the-air moment, everything! If you like Swedish House Mafia you should love this! There's nothing "dull" about it.

 

PRA may sound like every dance anthem of the last year put together but it is very original at the same time! It screams "future number one" and the single cover will likely be in my sig next week!

This is why I find it so dull. I'm okay with clones of individual songs as I find they sometimes improve the song they're copying but this is a clone of *every* song. There's literally nothing original or special about it, it's literally just another party anthem. That's even its title FFS. LMFAO have disappointed me with this.

 

I suspect it'll grow on me within the next few weeks but at the moment... meh.

I wonder if that new Lil Wayne song will go top 100? 6 Foot 7 Foot went to #71 based on his very limited UK fanbase, but John is relatively underperforming in the USA ('only' #4 when most Lil Wayne songs seem to shoot straight to #1) so it may well miss the top 100 here.

Does ESOM Part II count? That wasn't exactly summer but it was this time last year. But Adele is very original and no-one has done a song like hers last year (maybe why it's selling so much apart from obvious reasons)

Yeah, I was thinking Empire State of Mind II, but for the same reason as you said, I think it was a bit too early for "summer". Although, if you took looked at only the piano from each of those songs, Airplanes would be more similar. Empire State of Mind II is more continuous chords, whilst Someone Like You and Airplanes II are moving notes all the way through on the pianos (if that's the way to describe it. :lol:).

 

However, I have heard many songs like Someone Like You. I mean, it is just a piano and a voice, just none got very popular last summer. :lol:

What!!! :o got #1 written all over it now, especially when its so much better than traktor, and I'm beginning to like it a lot now, I guess using the sample of Fool's Gold has really clicked with me.

 

Just a case how long J.Lo can stay at #1 now 2 weeks or 3, if Unorthodox is out a week early

 

Apparently Alexandra Burke's new single will be out in April - so within a month. :o
