Technically none of the 'singles' from Rihanna's Rated R were actually singles, they were never given a proper release (not even a download-only one).

No that that's relevant at all :P Just sayin'

I think we just have different view points on it, because if I was Adele and if I was part of the label and saw SLY getting so much support and hitting #1 no way would I NOT confirm it as a single..I just dont know why they wouldnt give it single-status.

If they released Someone Like You as a single, but then still released Set Fire to the Rain next month, and then another album track in the summer, that would be okay.

But if they're going to do the normal thing, and leave a couple of months between each single, just the thought us all waiting until July for a new Adele song to get popular. And then us missing on an extra Adele song, which we deserve to get, seeing as this is Adele's home country, and we all took the initiative to buy and play one of her songs without her having to release it. We should get rewarded with an extra Adele song and video in the summer!

Dont you worry Eric, Set Fire To The Rain will be climbning end of April/May, TV/Radio know we cant get enough of Adele right now, it's going to be huge, epic song. We wont be waiting till June. :D

I'd love her to perform SFTTR on X Factor. But maybe would be performing the 4th single by then.

I do sort of agree with you. If they do release Someone Like You as the 2nd single, and we have to wait AGES until the release of SFTTR, I can see radio playing it anyway, because they'll be desperate for more Adele. I remember Airplanes from last year, got to #1 over a month before it's release date!

iTunes update!!!!

Gold Forever up to #5 again! Wow, they're having amazing longevity!! :o

Someone Like You (Live mix) down to #40. Gosh, it's literally in fee-fall! :o

I get that there are different viewpoints, I've had this argument with other people before, but to me it seems like a waste to push a song that's already absolutely huge when they could just be pushing another song which actually needs the push :P

LMFAO up to #12!! :o Could they get another #1? :o

Also, random bit of trivia here, but will.i.am was originally supposed to sing/chant/rap/yelp/whatever LMFAO's part in Gettin' Over You. I don't know why he didn't in the end though. But I was thinking, if he did, they may aswell have credited it "Black Eyed Peas ft. Chris Willis".

Didn't David Guetta want to keep the song for himself when BEPs asked for it, or something?

I'm surprised how well 'Louder' has held up, it looked to be out of the top 40 after being at around #21 on Sunday but it's done well to still be #26.

Yeah, I read that too. Apparently the BEPs wanted it for the E.N.D., but David Guetta wouldn't let them. To be fair though, he had already made them I Gotta Feeling. I think he'd done enough for the album.

But anyway, travel forward a year, and David Guetta is releasing his 5th single on the album, and the BEPs are still saying how much they love the song.

It was the 5th single off the album, and got to #1, which is pretty incredible, but to be honest, the remix with Fergie and LMFAO on really helped it out. It became more radio friendly with female vocals and rapping added in, and with less instrumental. He even turned it into the ultimate radio hit by getting Fergie to re-sing part of Boom Boom Pow to use as a bridge.

Note to any artist: If you want your 5th single from an album to get to #1, make a really good remix of it, and, more importantly promote the remix, NOT the original.

Would be quite cool fro LMFAO to come from pretty much nowhere and get a number 1! Nobody really expected Gettin' Over You to do it, it might be an LMFAO thing :kink: Party Rock has grown on me recently  First of all I was a bit wtf :o But now I really like it! :)

Unfortunately 'Let The Bass Kick In Miami Bitch' only got to #9 :(

^ Infact, isn't that the same Miami Girl song that's hovering at the lower end of the top 100 of iTunes? I wonder why it's come back after all this time.

Sometimes when an artist gets a new hit, their older hits get a bit more popular, but I don't think that's the case this time. It's a bit too extreme.

Well, as I would have thought would be fairly obvious given it's tagged 'The Only Way Is Essex Mix', a new mix of it (not really, it just replaces 'Miami' with 'Essex') is being used in the ads for The Only Way Is Essex.

I'm glad to see a mini-revival for it but it deserved to do far better than it did. :(

Ah, I see. I thought that was released along with when the song originally was.

I remember late 2009, I'm in Miami Girl and Riverside were played back to back when I was in the car, and my parents were like WTF is with music these days? It's a shame they didn't play some other weird song after that too.

It's so funny watching Rebecca Black climb up the iTunes chart, she's almost cracked the top 30; which is just incredible. Hopefully they'll get her on the chart show in upcoming weeks, I mean it's getting enough promotion.

Was that the original I'm In Miami Bitch (as released in the USA, also got to #86 in the UK in the absence of the Chuckie version) or Let The Bass Kick In Miami Bitch?

lol. I didn't know about all these versions!

I don't know. It was the same one they normally played on the radio, whichever that was.

There were loads of different versions of Riverside aswell, wasn't there?

lol. I didn't know about all these versions!

Was it a dance song or a hip hop song? The two songs are very different, the only thing they have in common is the lyrics.
