I'm quite looking forward to the return of semis, although I don't know if I'll be involved in them or not. In the past, when a winner has passed up the chance of hosting, they've still AQ'd regardless.

I hate semis :/ If we must have them though, I really think the winner should AQ, and the host if they so desire (which they seem to so not to, but anyway).

Autoqualification was one of the biggest things I disliked about semi-finals. If Rich wants to autoqualify, he's more than welcome to, but I'll only do so if it's mathematically needed...

I don't mind one way or the other to be honest. It's your call (or the mods, I don't know if there's any unwritten protocol to this sort of thing?)

 

After two and a half years, I've sufficiently recovered enough from my last DNQ to handle another should it happen :lol: It would be incredibly embarrassing after two wins, but that's BJSC for you! Just don't stick me in the indie semi!

Tbh, the idea of a semi was what put me off wanting to take part last year. It just seems like too much "effort" especially when time is limited. :(

 

Tyrren knows all about this. Posting results then when it gets to a cliffhanger moment, he posts "going to the pub. Be back in 2 hours". I wouldn't have any other way either. :D

I meant a proper contest as opposed to a spin off/Best Of, although there can't have been much of an incentive to host knowing that you didn't even have an entry in the thing :drama:

Plus, i was keen as hell to host. Sooooooooooooo much harder than expected. I do love hosting TBO though. :wub: even if no one participates...

Hosting takes a lot of effort, even without the extras (like sorting out your own recaps/MP3's). It can get quite stressful too if you make the tiniest mistake in calculating and it completely throws everything off :drama: It's why I couldn't have done it twice in a row. Once every 6-9 months or so I can cope with :heehee:

That takes me back in 2005 when I did CC Idol on Cool Clarity. With the help of Goody, we spent 10 weeks hosting the contest, doing all the votes and everything. It somehow worked really well as everybody who got involved helped to make CC Idol the success it was.

I must be the only person looking forward to the return of semis.....even if it means my entry will probably DNQ.

 

I really enjoy the suspense, finding out if you qualified from semis is actually more exciting then just seeing how you did in the final. Imo anyway.

I do like semis, even if it's only because there's more to do/talk about, this forum is so dead nowadays...at least we can do the qualification predicta threads again for one.
