101. Anti-D - The Wombats

 

That's a poor start, I assumed it would follow "Jump Into The Fog" and "Tokyo" into the top 40. It's not of the same standard but it's still alright, better than the stuff SFG released last year.

#33 on the main album chart.

 

Shame Together isn't doing well. :( Hopefully it'll climb over the week, it'd be tragic if it missed the top 100.

 

I guess people just aren't aware that 'Together' exsists. I've only seen the video a couple of times on MTV Dance but it's easily my fave of this weeks new releases. Second would be The Wombats but 'Anti-D' isn't as good as 'Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)' imo.

"Crying Lightning" only managed to get to #12 in a slightly weaker sales climate when their profile was a bit bigger, although the hype for "Brick By Brick" might mean they scrape top 10.

I heard Alexis Jordan's Hush Hush on radio the other day; what a great song!

 

I honestly thought she was going to be a one-hit-wonder, but I've LOVED :wub: all 3 of her singles now.

 

Not released until May 8th though - but is it charting top 1000 on iTunes yet?

 

It was in the top 500 on iTunes a few weeks ago, I think. It is indeed, and incredible tune though!!!!! The chorus is :wub:. Can't wait until I hear it on the radio for the first time! :D

Yeah, Ridin' Solo charted at #44, I think, then fell out the chart and re-climbed to #2 and ended up being massive. I don't see how it's any different with TTWE. People think, because it's a pre-album single, that it's supposed to debut at it's peak or something, with no promotion? :blink: And people can say "Oh, but there was so much hype for TTWE", well, were they living under a rock before Ridin' Solo was released!?! :lol:

 

There's other songs aswell. Like Telephone. Charted at #30 in December, eventually fell out of the top 75, but after the song got promoted it got to #1, a whole 4 months later.

I can't believe how cute (and sexy) her tracks are. There's just something about them that oozes sex. But in a cute, understated, shy way; not the kind of sex that Rihanna bangs on about.

 

I also watched an MTV special with her. She's quite good live; well the big notes in her tracks were.

I totally get the love for "Hush hush" :wub:

Such a great pop tune, hopefully it will be a decent hit for Jordan, she has a really warm personality too.

I imagine there'll be some AWESOME remixes to Hush Hush. I think it's a lot like Only Girl musically, although a lot more innocent, and the chorus doesn't have gaps between the notes! :lol:

Ah, I was under the impression it had already been premiered around last Wednesday (when it was added to R1's playlist). Surprised they're doing a radio premiere -> straight on sale thing as early as Monday, the last few times they did it (Muse's NSC, Coldplay's CL, Arctics' own CL) it was on a Wednesday. Makes more sense to do it earlier though as it gives them a better chance at top 10.

 

Whilst the playlists are released on the Wednesday, they don't kick in until Saturday, so if you're dropped from the playlist midweek, you will still get played for two more days. Also I must admit it is surprising that they're playlisting a song two days before its premiere.
