It's really quite something when Kerry Katona and Jedward are the biggest names in the house really? And to think we could have had Charlie Sheen if Channel 5 were willing to pay £6million.

Its just hit me, we won't be hearing "Big Brother house, this is Davina" anymore! "Big Brother house, this is Brian" doesn't really flow.

Let us not BREAK THE ENTIRE CHANNEL BUDGET.

This really is a step-up for Channel 5 broadcasting given the former HIGH-POINT was an explanation of how one's baggage gets from the check-in desk to the plane itself (OVER THE COURSE OF AN HOUR LONG PROGRAMME)

"Housemates aren't allowed iPhones, but they are allowed eye-candy".

 Worst 'joke' ever material, surely!

Brian is a HORRID host tbh.

SALLY FOR QOL!

Bobby is so pretty.

I ended up turning this over after Amy Childs went in - decided I'd seen enough 'celebrities' for one evening. I think I'll just wait for the normal BB to start. Do we have a date for that yet?
How long do people think the housemates will started to get fed up of Jedward?

The Celebrity version is three weeks long, so assuming it ends on the weekend of 8-11 September, it'll be sometime after then; I'd prefer if they left it a week or something, rather than throw the new housemates straight in, like they did with Ultimate Big Brother.

Seems all the advertising paid off and it did very well, lets hope it can cling to as many viewers as it can.

5.16 million tuned in on average last night (a 22.3% share), and peaking at 5.6 million makes it the fourth best performance for Channel 5 since it launched in 1997. 1.82 million then stuck around for Bit On The Side straight after. :D

What?! :o That's brilliant! I'm so glad it (looks) like it's going to be big this year. :D And, it's not even the BARB official figures (and I guess a lot of people will watch it on record over the week, due to it being the night after A-Level results)!

Just for general interest, here's a list of the highest launch nights:

01. 2002 (7.60)

02. 2007 (7.32)

03. 2006 (6.68)

04. 2010 (6.28)

05. 2009 (5.90)

06. 2011 (5.60)

07. 2005 (5.40)

08. 2001 (4.58)

So although it's only currently 6th, it's being broadcast on the least-watched terrestrial channel, it will increase and overtake at least 2009-10's series. Interestingly, the 2002 series was actually broadcast in November, so there was obviously going to be a higher viewer proportion then due to winter evenings.

That's a brilliant launch figure. I expect that figure to drop dramatically though now to launch is over. I suspect it drop about 2 million in the next couple of days.

That is brilliant for Channel 5! :o I imagine their most watched shows would be Neighbours and Home & Away before this, and they only get like 1.5 million, often less!

She was giving these oh-grrrreat/pfffffffft/can-i-go-home-now looks yesterday when each new housemate entered the house! MEH.

I think it was more her eyeing them up than anything! Plus, that's exactly why she's so brilliant.

She's practically been my biggest obsession this past year (along with Kanye).
