Also, Capital didn't play Traktor until after it was released, but they've been playing Unorthodox a lot, and I guess other commercial stations might've done similar.

Black and Yellow was a different matter altogether tbh. The issue with Black and Yellow was that the song was simply too sophisticated for the people of our country, and it just went over everybody's heads.

What?

It was because the fake versions were selling alot, plus it was held back for ages.

Whatever you say about B&Y, it is definetly not sophisticated.

sophisticated?! hardly

Oh god B&Y SOPHISICATED!!!  It's the most chav ready song in ages! Norah Jones and Sade are sophisicated! (Joking! I know Eric was joking! Right?)

Born This Way just used on BGT the beginning, was playing for at least 3 minutes. May see a slight boost.

Also Only Girl & Firework, along with other songs were sung on 'Sing If You Can', they may see a small boost too.

Judas may not go to #1 till very late this evening by looks of it..

Most chav-ready song in ages?! What about Buzzin', Down On Me, Rolling in the Deep, etc? :coffee:

Rolling In The Deep is chav?! I think not...

ROLLING IN THE DEEP? Don't even put that in the same sentence as the awful DOM. CHAVY? How can you call the most classy song of the 2011 chavy.

Most classy song of 2011?!?!

Haven't you heard Sweat? That song is fit for royalty.

That must be sarcasm, if it is not then I worry for you Eric ^_^

I'm really disappointed at the failure to detect sarcasm in this thread.

would help if it was actually amusing...

I'm not being sarcastic about Sweat being fit for royalty. The song was written SPECIFICALLY for royalty.

Snoop said of the song, "When I heard the royal family wanted to have me perform in celebration of Prince William's marriage, I knew I had to give them a little something. 'Wet' is the perfect anthem for Prince William or any playa to get the club smokin'."

I was being 100% serious when I said the song is fit for royalty. Why can't people take me seriously. :( Sweat is classy, in a strip-club kind of way.

THIS

but it is especially when people think it's serious.

I thought Black and Yellow & Traktor were definate Number 1's, but I can't see that with Unorthodox. I'm guessing Top 3 instead
I knew Eric was joking, I didn't twig til halfway through my post and couldn't be assed to delete so added it on the end. And B&Y is ONE OF the (maybe not THE) chavviest songs in ages. RITD is uber sophisicated though

In 100% seriousness now, I don't think Black and Yellow is that chavvy at all. I'd say the chavviest songs in the current top 100 on iTunes are:

Tik Tok

Katy On a Mission

Like a G6

Backseat (heard this song for the first time today on the radio though, and it's AMAZING)

Buzzin' (probably the MOST chavvy song in the top 100)

Look At Me Now (can't decide if this is chavvy or not, but I'll include it anyway tbh)

^ All those songs are great though, even Tik Tok.

And most "sophisticated", "classy", etc, in the top 100, I'd say are:

Bright Lights, Bigger City

All of the Lights

Rolling in the Deep

I Need a Doctor

Yeah Right

I Need a Dollar

Love the way You Lie

Edited by Eric_Blob

Eric how exactly would you define a "chavvy" song ?

I wouldn't say any of those were.. Maybe something along the lines of N Dubz earlier material - I Swear, Better Not Waste My Time etc.., but that's probably more to do with the way they dressed and portrayed themselves

You gotta love Eric Blob. His posts are the highlight of many threads.

This.

I never know if he's being serious or not

I wouldn't call a song with the lyric 'I slapped my girl, she called the feds' classy.

I know it's basically a matter of opinion and I don't mean to stereotype but I don't actually think any rap song can pass as 'classy' or 'sophisticated'. They're just too sweary most of the time.
