Yep, well almost. A US #1 (in the same way as I Like That was) in 2000.

So the Hot 100 Dance Chart then

Anyway if I come top 10 this contest, I am DEFINITELY sending an Asian pop song to XXXIV :kink:

I'm still hoping you'll do this you know! ^_^

Oh and almost sending Perfume - One room disco to this contest, did you not? :kink:

By the way, what keeps your from sending that song or any other asian pop song for that matter? We all know you love it and you've done well with french/finnish not so long ago (and Daniell II did good with f(x) in XXX) if it's about that infamous language barrier. What are you afraid of? You should just send it! :D I'll give you points :kink:

I'm gutted i didin't get threw. Thanks to everyone who voted me though - quite dissapointed. Didin't think my entry was that bad

Aquafina.

I liked the song, in an 8/10 sort of way, but it's the sort of thing I'd have given 12 points to if we'd been doing BJSC when I was 12.

Was it the same Amber that did the song Sexual by any chance? :o That was a classic! And a UK top 40 hit iirc.

I thought 'Above The Clouds' was atrocious personally, I rated it 2/10  It was just like... cheese that even Josh Dubovie wouldn't welcome in. CRINGE.

Yup. The follow up single to that. She was huge in America. I mean like Alice Deejay huge :kink:

Wow, that is big! :P

I seem to remember acquiring Sexual on single but I definitely wouldn't have bought it for myself, I'd have been too embarrassed at what my parents would say :heehee:

Langauge barrier my ass, it's not as if one hasn't won before :kink:

Nope, it's not the language barrier, it's the asian pop barrier. Like I am literally obsessed with Girls Generation at the moment (a Korean girl group) but I don't go on about it cos no-one on here gets it :( For me Asia makes some of the best pure pop music in the world, can anyone explain to me what's "wrong" with it?

Fair enough. I was merely being curious to what held you back as you do seem relatively interested in sending asian pop at some point.

@Silas: As you keep reminding us with ease ( :D) there's probably not this language barrier anymore. Which is purely a good thing. Molly making it to the final once more confirms this yet again! ^_^

Euphorique thanks very much for the 12points - It was much appreciated. I'm going to keep the same approach as i really did Enjoy the song.. Maybe had i been in Semi Final 2 i would have had a greater chance of progressing.

I agree, although some of isn't too great, but you get gems like BoA who is AMAZING. <3 Love that gurl. I always consider sending her again, 'Eat You Up' shoulda gone top ten when I entered it! :(

Wasn't there a time in BJSC when the thought of a foreign language song winning the contest would have sent people into a fit of delirious laughter?

Why can't it be the same for Asian Pop? You're telling me there isn't and won't ever be an Asian Pop song that can't win this contest? That's a bold statement.

There was a time when the country who has the only foreign language winner would cry with laughter at the idea of entering something that wasn't in English

Not really. People thought Serebro would win in VI and there've always been a few close shaves. I always thought foreign language/male victories were inevitable at some point.

Why is everybody ignoring the fact i gave Espen only a 6?!

I bet i was 14th in my semi

So Sveta bombed terribly... I guess Soviet Pop does not work for Letland...

Shame, I always thought "By Your Side" was a very cosmopolitan track. The kind of track you'd jam to at 5am driving your car through the streets of Seville after a night in the clubs. Like Kylie's "More More More" or Clamaran & Soraya's "Live Your Dreams".

I have no idea what to send next. Lately I've been listening to Kylie only, but that would be rather cheap. I guess I'll have to stick with the Scandipop formula... :P

I think I've already found my next entry for BJSC. It's far too "pop" to use in Unknown Pleasures but I think it'd appeal to people who enter BJSC.
