I think he chose it because of the summer vibe, its more chilled song, shows off his funnier side, not all soppy like the last two (which I liked :lol:)

 

The song, as Eric says, is a little lazy, and the video :lol: Well, bit odd, like the simpleness, but not the best video, but then again its not the best song. I can see it being a hit though, nowhere near as big as the last two ofcourse, already #6 on US iTunes though :o I think it'll peak low top 10 over here in UK, i wonder how it'll impact on the album..i think another song could have sold it a lot better for a 3rd single.

^ I heard Marry You on the radio, which I quite liked, so I think that would've been good as a single.

 

The Lazy Song is certainly an improvement on Grenade though. Although Grenade is probably my least favourite song this year, so it's not really difficult to beat for me. :lol:

I still think this is an odd single choice- especially that Marry You is just screaming for a release

actually really like the video and it's made me really like the song.

I like the video, but its so cheap and I wonder how they are going to edit bits out for TV. I am glad it shows his sense of humour though. The song is a strange choice tbh, its an OK album song but not really a single. Then again, this only premiered yesterday and its already at #49 so will be a big hit, but honestly its a strange choice.

Anyway, I've thought TLS was a bad choice since a few weeks ago when it was announced, but I did give it time. Though it's grown on me a bit, I still think it's an odd choice over Marry You, Talking To The Moon and Runaway Baby. Marry You could even maybe have been another no.1 tbh! :o I reckon TLS will peak @ 5/6/7ish but sell quite well.

Its not the most commercial song on the album though by any means and many people on here think its a strange choice. It will be a hit because it is Bruno, and its quite a good song, but 'Marry You', 'Talking To The Moon' or 'Runaway Baby' would still have been EVEN bigger than TLS is going to be here.

I didn't even read this post before I replied to Karma so I love that we posted the same 3 songs that would have been better, in exactly the same order. Shows we have great and very similar taste ^_^ :lol:. I also agree with you about MY being a #1 and I can also see TLS peaking at #5 although I think it could scrape #4.

Well, Marry You would've been good because it's selling loads anyway, and Glee promoted it. I mean, it got to #41 as an album track in the UK, who knows how well it could've done with regular radio airplay, a music video, etc.

I agree- Marry You could've been another big number 1, I think they'll probably release it eventually but it may be one of those songs that enters early and hangs around a while but doesn't get a good peak :(
