Is it just me or have these only just shown up? I hadn't noticed them there before, was the episode not broadcast last night as usual?

Gaga will be releasing the Judas video sometime this week apparently - she should give details in Gagavision #43 at midnight (US time).

I still think it will be bigger than BTW too...

People are saying it is better than BTW, so in time it will become a big hit. It's just a shame everyone says that these singles have "flopped" because they're by GaGa and wouldn't be called "flops" if they were by anyone else. Bad Romance never debuted at number one, so Judas will peak in a few weeks. It's falling fast down the chart because the hype has gone and all the gaga fans like myself have downloaded it, the video hopefully will be good enough to get the song some longevity in the top 10 like BTW

That is great news if it is true, I hope it is and she hurries up as it could be massive if it is handled well, and if the videos out this week that is a great start.

Remember 'Bad Romance' didn't explode right out of the gate either! And that was on iTunes really early too. I wouldn't worry at all.

Bad Romance was a MUCH better song, and had an X-Factor performance.

Judas is a very pale imitation of BR and there's nothing for Gaga to promote it on. Born This Way was her first single from the album and yet that only went to #3 even though it had far more hype than Judas. The video for BTW only boosted it up five places on iTunes and kinda stablised it a bit, it didn't have much of a big effect at all.

I can see Judas peaking at #5 or something.

'Born This Way' got to #3 with over 60,000 sales from less than two days of being avaliable. Lady GaGa is probably the only person who could manage to make the top 3 from less than 2 days of sales. People say it's a flop, but that is extremely impressive.

It is a flop when you consider all the hype surrounding it and the fact its a lead single from a new era, and to top it all her 2nd single looks to miss number 1.

She is the most hyped up artist out there at the moment and its doesnt fair good if her singles from a much anticipated new era dont get the top spot.

Tbh BTW getting to number 3 with 60k was astounding given it only had two days. It was sad it missed number 1 but I actually don't consider it a flop! Judas is looking like it's teetering dangerously on the edges of being considered a flop if the video's not out by Sunday!

Boosting a song 5 places up iTunes is quite a big effect when you're in the top 10! Also, it was more than 5 places because it fell to #10 on iTunes before the video, and climbed back up to like #3 or #4 or something.

Seriously, were you expecting the songs sales to increase ten-fold after the video or something?

I don't think Bad Romance was a much better song either. They're both almost the same anyway, and I think Bad Romance was worse. Judas is a bit less generic, and it has some sort of a beat. Bad Romance didn't. It was just "going on", if you know what I mean. It's like one of those default beats you get on those music creating programs. Judas's isn't even much better, but at least you can hear a melody in the instrumental during the verses (although in the choruses it goes back to being generic). I think one of the reasons I prefer Firework and Only Girl is because the instruments are playing epic melodies (the former reminiscent of Coldplay, the latter reminiscent of eurodance) in the choruses, but Bad Romance barely has anything in the chorus (or the verses).

Plus Bad Romance always has that bit before the chorus where it builds up, and then the chorus ends up being quieter than the verses, which always makes me laugh. So much for a crescendo... Sorry, I just always found Bad Romance quite dire tbh, and it's not much better than Judas at all, although better than Poker Face.

How is it a flop, even when considering it's hype? It got into the top 3 from less than two days worth of downloads. Had it been released on a Sunday, it would have been a #1. And like I said earlier, Lady GaGa is probably the only person who can get into the top 3 from two days of sales. Had this been someone else everyone would've been saying 'give it time to climb higher', etc.

True this tbh. This is Buzzjack I guess, and site where a song can get to #1 and people will still call it a flop. :drama:

If Adele's next album sells "only" 1,000,000 some people here will call it a flop probably.

I wouldn't be surprised if people will say that, tbh.

If it was anyone else then it wouldnt have made the top 40, BTW was such a made choice for lead single, it really is naff. I pretty sure most x factor winner singles get to number 1 on itunes and in charts after just a couple of days.

I actually can't wait to see how Adele's third album will sell. It'll either not come close to 21's sales/longevity or massively outshine it (if that's even possible). If they release it in Q4 instead of Q1 I could see it behind a serious contender for the new biggest first week sales of an album ever.

But the X Factor winner's single basically has a several month long ad prior to its release which is just about the most hype you can get for one song. It's not fair to compare the XF winning single to any conventional release by any conventional artist. GaGa's instant success with BTW couldn't be anywhere near matched by any other artist, that she did it *again* with Judas is unbelievable. BTW may not have performed brilliantly afterwards in comparison to her first era (but artists with such huge first albums *always* slump in success with their second album, with the notable exception of Katy Perry recently) but we don't know yet what will happen with Judas. Especially as, as you say, Born This Way was 'naff' (ie. it wasn't received well by the public) whereas Judas has had a much more positive reaction.

Maybe I should rephrase then, it didnt flop it just didnt do was well as everyone expected and looks like Judas will do the same

yes, that would be a better wording

just look what happened to Duffy and Leona Lewis - I can't see it doing anywhere close to how well this has done, I don't think she'll ever have this level of success again- I don't think its even possible any album can outshine this album's success :drama:

BTW wasn't a flop, it did reasonably well actually, just not as well as some people were expecting. If it had a normal Sunday release, its chart run would look like:

1-3-8-4-4-7-10-13-14-17

It would have still been in the top 4, 5 weeks after hitting #1, which for songs now a-days is impressive. Also 'Grenade' was at #13 on its 10 week on the chart, Gaga was at #17, not much difference, so I would say it has held up well.
